What are the pros and cons of the occupy brand being mixed, associated or attached; to existing ideologies, branding and/or brand extensions?

Given that this isn't something that can be controlled at this point, The pros range from "any press is good press" while you are trying get known. But when you are known, you want to associate with complementary entities. There will be those who want to associate themselves with you that aren't very complementary (or complimentary, for that matter) and there will be some that won't want to be associated with you (for reasons that may not be obvious to you) and at the smallest granularity, that is true of those who log in here and remain anonymous. I for one, believe that the bad guys already know our identities and I think it is time to switch to real identities. Of course the "count"" will go down for those who are schizophrenic and have multiple user identities.

The brand gets stronger the more real and authentic we are. The people who have been arrested have "come out" but those who haven't, haven't.

Maybe a first step would be to post some actual personal information on you user name page? I did when I registered,

The Occupy brand is already associated and attached to Leftist/Anarchist/Socialist/Marxist ideologies. This is pro because it is an honest representation of most people that support OWS. It's too late to run damage control.

You are right. That is why OWS doen't represent 99% of the people.
