Forum Post: Occupiers Only Want A Seat At The Table!

People have been telling me lately that I should position myself more in the “Center” of political discourse so as not to “Offend” anyone who may have different positions that I do.

I could easily agree with that take on things if I could see any evidence that the “Other Side had any predisposition to any form of give and take.

But so far, all I have seen is their wish to make sure that Obama is a one-term President and that the elderly and the Middle Class and the lower income earners of America are robbed of their Social Security, their Medicare and all those other Safety Net Programs instituted during the era of the “New Deal.” These are the so-called “Entitlements” that have put the concept of “Compassion” into the American Play Book.

So I find myself having to fight the fight for the principles of Liberalism upon which this nation was founded against those who would completely dismantle our national foundations and re-build it upon the shifting sands of Conservative folly. I cannot do that! I would be a traitor if I did that–and I am not a traitor: I am a Patriot and I have the Honorable Military Discharges to prove my loyalties.

This political discourse is not some harmless little luncheon to which each side brings some finger sandwiches and ice cream. This political discourse in America today is an out and out war against elitism, power and wealth mongering that threatens to destroy a whole class of citizens and the citizens who want nothing more than to be able to earn a decent living at a decent wage with some traditional perks thrown in–like it has been for decades.

I think the Liberals and Democrats and Progressives have adequately proven already that the reward for compromise and capitulation on values is only more false promises and more demands. In other words, the pattern has been that when Compassion gives an inch, Greed demands another mile.

That is why I am not always so cream puff and roses when I write my blog posts.

There is no sane reason that I can think of that anyone who lives in America and who does their level best to play by the rules should have to suffer deprivation. We have the resources and the Will as a great nation to make sure this deplorable situation should never happen to an American Citizen. Yet there are those who walk among us who absolutely refuse to give in to the Christian concept of “Helping The Needy.” If this is truly a Government “Of The People, By The People and For The People,” why are there those who refuse to share?

God Himself declares in His Holy Word, “The young lions lack and suffer hunger, but those who seek The Lord shall not lack any good thing.” (Psalm 34:10).

Yet there are actually people who call themselves “American and who wave the Bible and the Flag at every opportunity who would shove those words right back into the Creator’s face and say among themselves, “Alright God! If you want the Commie, Hippie, Nazi, Filthy Scum to have anything, You give to them, but don’t expect us to cooperate. We are better than they! We are Your anointed and appointed! We don’t want to get our hands dirty and we sure don’t want those parasites getting a single crumb of what We have worked so hard to accumulate.”

I would give a word of encouragement to the “Occupy Wall Street” Patriots who are working so hard and suffering so much to change the American Dialogue from Oppression to Fairness today.

Be of good cheer as you suffer the slings and arrows of your oppressors and your tormentors. Keep up the good fight. Hang in there and persist. Right now, the world is only just beginning to hear your cries for justice. The Lord God has already heard and here is what He has to say to you about what you are doing:

“I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit upon your descendants, and My Blessing on your offspring.” (Isaiah 44:3).

Excellent post. You give the encouragement we need in the face of, what seems at times, formidable opposition. Thank you.
