Here is a list of the oil producing companies and the cost of a gallon of gasoline in each of these countries.

I guess the Obama administration forgot to look at these figures because he continually says drilling for oil in our contry won't have an affect on lower gasoline prices.

Oil Producing Companies price of gasoline as of 3/1/2012

  1. Venezuela — $0.18 per gallon

  2. Saudi Arabia- $0.48 per gallon

  3. Libya — $0.54 per gallon

  4. Turkmenistan — $0.72 per gallon

  5. Bahrain- $0.78 per gallon

  6. Kuwait — $0.84 per gallon

  7. Qatar — $0.90 per gallon

  8. Egypt — $1.14 per gallon

  9. Oman — $1.20 per gallon

  10. Algeria — $1.20 per gallon

I truly believe the single greatest thing America can do to improve the economy is to become the world leader in energy. Not just the raw materials, but also the technology to use those materials more efficiently.

An economy centered around not only exploration and development of our own fossil fuels, but also around all kinds of clean energy technology and technology to use fossil fuels more efficiently. It would create millions of good paying jobs in many sectors and lower our energy prices dramatically, both of which would help the economy for years.

The worldwide demand for energy is rapidly increasing and will continue to do so as long as countries like the BRIC and other emerging markets continue to grow.

I really don't see how a country like the US, with it's unique combination of extensive natural and intellectual resources, is not taking the worldwide lead in this.

You are right - we can be the leader but we have stupid people running the country right now.

If we become oil independent, it will drive prices down, people will have more money to spend.

Then we can focus on building more nuclear plants to prepare for the newest electrical technology this country should be leading in.

Anything imported should be taxed and that tax should go towards developing cleaner energy resources. It can be done.

Well Obama's position is that he wants gas prices to go higher so I suppose that means it's time to bust out the drills.

Regardless if both sides of the coin he stands on conflict, I'm sure he's right.

He looks just like this guy and signs papers just like the rest of them.

They don't want the price to go down.
