Forum Post: Obama Administration Doesnt Want Disclosure of Fracking Liquids Until AFTER the Fracking is Done!

This content is user submitted and not an official statement

"But in a significant concession to the oil industry, companies will have to reveal the composition of fluids only after they have completed drilling — a sharp change from the government’s original proposal, which would have required disclosure of the chemicals 30 days before a well could be started."

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/05/05/us/new-fracking-rule-is-issued-by-obama-administration.html?_r=0

No matter how awful the acts of government- these two corporate parties specifically- there will be straglers on each end desperate to prove they havent been lied to their entire lives.

I don't blame them for being scared of that thought. I do blame them for realizing it and continuing to do so only because they want to win.

It keeps getting worse, and the votes keep coming. 2014 will be no different.

People ask me why I bother doing anything. Why bother? You arent going to change anything.

I think we have a duty to educate each other, to help out in the betterment of those around us, to fight the propaganda that is pushed in front of them 24/7 - this coming from someone who enjoys marketing- and to learn there is a difference between treating yourself and literally spending paycheck after paycheck.

To learn that sometimes you are going to have to work more than you thought you could even manage, that even if you are going to college, it depends on what you do while you are there and then what you do afterwards- that a degree is not a magic ticket- and that continuing your education after school is extremely important.

And also to learn that this magical body that is miles and miles away that is supplying you with certain things may not be there forever, and if it goes, to have a plan.

That you are not the priority in terms of caring, you are the priority in terms of sweat equity.

nice job here - it is a shame - Obama could have changed the world. instead we got more of the same. many knew it long before the election. those are the people we should be looking to - the ones whose saw what was happening before the rest. not "the usual suspects."

Be weary of those who claim to support the environment and alternative energy and then in teh same breath support people like this.

They care about winning, and that is it. The crimes are not a concern. The wars and deaths are not a concern. The pollution and environment are not a concern.

Why is it important to know where you stand in the grand scheme of things?

At the very least, so you can make informed decisions regarding your life. The economy is not improving, its all bailout money. Don't go out shopping like your job is going to be there for another 6 months. As soon as another recession hits, and its going to anytime now because according to basic bell curves over history we are 6 years into a "recovery" and recessions happen on average every 5-7 years, some worse than others.

The next one, though, they don't have their two favorite tricks anymore.

Cant lower interest rates, they are already at zero (research ZIRP).

Can't do another massive money printing, already doing that. Wont have an impact.

So what will they do?

These people in power are completely out of control. They are so isolated from reality they cannot understand what is going on. Probably medicated most of the time too.

Understand that as things get tough, the tough get going. Be smart with your money, find ways to make some cash on the side if your main income stops, and try to make sure you have enough for a rainy day.

There is nothing you can do, as one person, that is going to radically change things. As a group, we can do that, but one person alone that is a very tall task. Try to serve your community and be an example of helping, while also being an example of responsible living.

"...Today, we’re making this new pipeline from Cushing to the gulf a priority,” he said, while the northern portion requires additional review.

“But the fact is that my administration has approved dozens of new oil and gas pipelines over the last three years, including one from Canada,” Mr. Obama added. “And as long as I’m president, we’re going to keep on encouraging oil development and infrastructure, and we’re going to do it in a way that protects the health and safety of the American people.”

and didn't he add "and we are going to burn all the oil we have in the ground as fast as we can. put as much carbon into the air as possible - we won't need any oil in the future so why keep it in the ground" then I think he added "conservation is for sissies - I am the environmental president!"

If you think that both parties are the same, then it stands to reason that you are also advancing your message on the right-wing sites. Can you please point me in that direction. At least signup on facebook for 'a sheep no more.' Then tell it to Rush, Laura, Sean, Bill, and all your buds delivering the kool-aid each and every day. I'm not going to say do it. It's already done, right? No? Your whole argument then falls to shit. Who's Griff anyway? Is it you or your sister?

he's my brother! as in right on bro! don't have a facebook account and no your logic does not hold up. I am here ever since I went to zuccotti park and saw what a great thing they were doing. very non partisan - very much against both parties. all sorts there - libertarians and republicans (wall streeters in suits) democrats and radicals. all discussing and trying to find answers. it was different from this forum since when someone like you started pushing a democratic party agenda they were told (politely at first then very firmly) this was not the place for that. unfortunately this forum has devolved somehow into a place where Obama supporters hold positions of power. too bad - the slogan is - we are the 99% not we are for Obama. here is one of the founders saying it as plain as can be said (even though the dogboy didn't like it) - From: Justine Tunney [mailto:justine@occupywallst.org] Sent: Tuesday, January 28, 2014 10:01 PM

What on earth are you talking about with the democratic party? We don't have anything to do with them. Not in the slightest. Don't believe the lies. I mean... we've got all this stuff about revolution on the website. :rolls eyes: You should know better if you've been on the site for the past few years :P

[-] 1 points by nazihunter (215) 9 years ago

How, does my logic not hold up? See, this is where the disconnect is. You only like your own point of view and those who agree with it. Everywhere isn't zuccotti park. If you don't know that, your ignorance is monolithic. Your hypocrisy is monolithic. You and your democrats and republicans and teabaggers all holding hands and kissing? Then why go into a forum and attack only democrats? highly suspect, dontcha think? and therein lies the problem; you don't think. Here's the facts, you refuse to face them over and over again, your beloved pug people are vermin. and you try to shit on Obama? All I have to do is look at Mitch McConnell and you want to be bitch about Obama? That's so ill-thought out, it's no wonder you're not well received, (other than your bro). More than half the people in this country are pugs. They do not consider themselves to be any part of your 99%. They consider themselves to be a part of that 1%. I can prove that over and over and over. I need not your tripe. If you don't like either party-you've done a shit poor job of showing it. Shit poor. You don't want consensus-you want your way or the highway. You have all the answers? You get on those fucking pug sites now and quit your bitching' on this one. You fake. You coward. My logic is perfect. PERIOD.

People ask me why I bother responding to you. What you offer here is something EVERYBODY ALREADY KNOWS. Where were you? This is not news. Hello! Do you really think this is some sort of revelation? Your own article points out what I've been saying all along-The bill started out as full disclosure, by the time pugs and their oil-loving puppet masters get it, it's compromised. Consequently, where is your education much more drastically needed? It's needed by everyone that voted for that house full of pugs. If you don't know that, you're rather uncommitted I think and, that's means your hard-pressed to be asking anything from anyone else.

The point of a post like this is to bring specific legislation and specific quotes from politicians in order to further clarify where they stand, so you dont get played like a sucker.

Quotes like this:

"The Senate passed the bill unanimously, and the House passed the bill by vote of 415-1, with Obama signing it on December 26.

“For far too long, the permitting process has been delayed because of a lack of federal resources and coordination in western North Dakota. It has led to excessive waits for drilling permits that unnecessarily slow down projects while also putting the brakes on jobs that would come from those projects,” said the law’s coauthor, U.S. Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND), in a press statement. “Working with colleagues on both sides of the aisle, we were able to get this bill through both the Senate and the House so it can soon be signed into law. We must continue to make common-sense fixes like this to help North Dakota reach its full energy potential.”

“This legislation is about helping to cut red tape and making the federal permitting process more timely and efficient,” added U.S. Sen. John Hoeven (R-ND) in a press statement. “Right now, it takes about 180 to 270 days to permit an oil well on BLM land in North Dakota, compared to about ten days on private lands. There are currently about 525 permits awaiting approval. This will help us to alleviate the backlog and other delays that are costing us jobs and economic growth. The BLM Streamlining Act will help us to achieve our goal of true energy independence.”"

Hmmm.... Who said that? I guess the words straight from the horses mouth in direct opposition to what you claim to support is meaningless to you?

More Bush cuts for you as well?

Write your Congressman. I'm sure he'll help you out.......................:)

http://www.rickscottwatch.blogspot.com/

Oooops you keep- missing this guy too.

the surprising thing though?

In all the many, many other threads on fracking you didn't have a word to say.

But now that in, your tiny mind, you think you can blame the whole ball of wax on one guy, you start a thread of your own.

My guess, is that it will a hit with all your fellow trolls.

So much easier for you now that you and your fellow trolls have chased so many folks away.

Will you be denying that?

" reworked the rule to address industry concerns about overlapping state regulations"

As I've told you before oh great and holy and infallable hchc......

As go the States, so goes the Nation.

You should be more careful here, you're stepping on the toes of your libe(R)tarian overlords.

EDIT: At least you got to say your favorite word a lot.
