Forum Post: Northern Colorado succession

I am extremely interested in the outcome of Northern Colorado's attempt at becoming the 51st state. They are wishing to succeed because of the government of Colorado's attempts at gun control and green initiatives that will sap the economy of Northern Colorado. They see the truth. Compromise will not work. There is no reconciliation. The decision, therefore, must be to go their separate ways. The same argument can apply to the United States. The red and blue demarcation of the US during the 2012 election is about as clear as you can get. It appears, unless some miraculous event takes place, that the path of the United States is succession. Let the South succeed again. The North should keep their noses out of it, and let the two countries engage in free trade.

Northern Colorado isn't going to become the 51st state. Northern Wisconsin isn't going to split either, not that I've heard they want to. Colorado is just an example of a growing urban/rural divide.

The 'South' as we know it is a different story. There would not be a serious attempt to prevent the south from splitting if they wanted to. It's seen as a bluff by many in the nothern states.

Personally, I love the music that came from New Orleans and the Mississippi Delta long ago. Beyond that I can't relate to a single thing about the south. Nothing. I know there are good people there but the culture is different than mine. Like many people I don't cross the Mason-Dixon line. I'm not encouraging the south to split but if they really want to I say go for it. I certainly wouldn't attempt to stop them, not that I could.
