Nearly 200,000 Demand Progress members have urged Congress to end indefinite detention in front of TOMORROW'S vote.

If you haven't already, please click here to email Congress right away:

We can put an end to a shocking assault on our civil liberties: Last year's National Defense Authorization Act included language that could allow the military to detain civilians INDEFINITELY without charge or trial because of vague accusations that they're associated with criminals.

This year's NDAA could come up for a vote as soon as TOMORROW and we have a prime opportunity to reverse this travesty of justice

Congressmen Adam Smith and Justin Amash will put forth an amendment to make it clear that the military does not have the power to arrest and indefinitely detain civilians without charging or trying them.

Repeal NDAA and then repeal anyone who voted for it.

The men and women in congress have created huge problems and stolen our rights all while giving themselves raises to the point they're making 174,000 dollars a year. That's over 4 times large than the average taxpayer's income.

What better way than to use the NDAA to determine who to remove from Congress?

That would remove 93 out of 100 from the Senate and 283 out of 435 from the House of Reps and it would remove the President from the White House.

That sounds like a great start.

I'm with you ! Even if it gets repealed; the fact that they even attempted this BS means they won't get my vote.

BTW, did you see this?

WTF? Who are we supposed to believe? Levin say's very clearly that he did not want to include US citizens in this.

[-] 1 points by SparkyJP (1646) from Westminster, MD 11 years ago

Exactly. Levin also states that the WH contacted them and requested that The Armed Services Committee include that language. The video doesn't appear fake and that Obama got what he wanted. Red Flag? You decide. Me ..................... I think it's true!
