A Republican precinct chairman in North Carolina was asked to resign Thursday after making racially inflammatory comments during a 'Daily Show' interview on Wednesday, WRAL reported.

Buncombe GOP Chair Henry Mitchell said Don Yelton resigned for making remarks that were "offensive, uniformed and unacceptable of any member within the Republican Party." http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/nc-goper-fired-for-making-racist-comments-on-daily-show-video

HEH - hard to believe that they asked one of their own to step down for going to far. WOW these guys must be running scared of the possibility of the coming wrath of the public for their BullShit in office.

Wonder if the idiot was asked to fall on his sword - so that the gop could look good in asking him to step down.

I think the guy honestly believed what he was saying. I think that these little right wing pukes had no way to hide it and, yep, it was an automatic make the GOP look good in the moment.

I'm just surprised that they actually acted on it - instead of the usual try to ignore it and pretend it never happened.

It interferes with their lie to people of color spin.

At the moment it seems to have distracted from their voter suppression act.

They are just so sad. It is hard to believe that any person of color would support them or that any woman would either. Truly pathetic bunch of goat rapers.

Their prejudicial accusations and slurs reveal that tired, old & ugly GOP nature ~ dirty, costly and obsolete, racism. With RepubliCon loss after electoral loss, their beloved bigotry & racism are luxuries they just can't afford... at the moment... openly. Denial and scapegoating are Con expediency de rigueur.

Yes, but the voter suppression bill still stands, in N. Carolina and elsewhere..

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 10 years ago

Yes, it does.

That people like you don't give a damn about anything or anyone. For people like you, it's a power grab and as long as you think that you get a piece of the pie-it doesn't matter who is harmed in the process.
