Hedges is on point as usual. "We murder tens of thousands with our industrial killing machines in Afghanistan and Iraq. We murder thousands more from the skies over Pakistan, Somalia and Yemen with our pilotless drones. We murder each other with reckless abandon. And, as if we were not drenched in enough human blood, we murder prisoners—most of them poor people of color who have been locked up for more than a decade. "

Its a sick world we are living in right now. Go ask people what they think of Bradley Manning- most dont even know who he is.

I completely agree with Hedges on all counts except I believe in the death penalty. No need to repeat his statements, just to add we are a warring and violent nation. It is truly sad. However, I’m one who believes some murders are so heinous, so inhuman, that the only true justice is the death penalty. Unfortunately, as with so much else, we even screw that up. I see no justice in it taking 10 to 20 years to execute a monstrous convicted killer.

Murder is our national sport. We murder tens of thousands with our industrial killing machines in Afghanistan and Iraq. We murder thousands more from the skies over Pakistan, Somalia and Yemen with our pilotless drones. We murder each other with reckless abandon. And, as if we were not drenched in enough human blood, we murder prisoners—most of them poor people of color who have been locked up for more than a decade.

You condemn the depravity of man, yet cast blame on the 2nd amendment. Doesn't that strike you a bit nonsensical?

Actually, the way I see it, guns are not really an issue. It's our violent culture. The term "gun violence" is yet another leftwing misnomer. Violence is violence. Guns are but one tool. People who own guns are no more "nutters" than the folks who do not care to. With or without guns, our society has become rather dangerous.
