It's already been noted that the Newtown shooter was on "medications" on 60 minutes this last weekend.

Please watch the full documentary, ' The Drugging of our Children". This has been such an important issue for so many years and nothing has been done about it.

I know that the majority of Americans who are prescribed these drugs don't need them. However, if you believe that they do, then have you asked yourself why it is that 60 percent of our nation is depressed or mentally ill or ADD/ADHD? Circumstantial depression is not a disease. Being creative, curious, vibrant and energetic is not a disease. If that were true than every single one of us would need these drugs. Disease mongering and direct to consumer advertising is killing us- it's killing our children.

Let us remove the UN-natural from our food - the dies and sweeteners the artificial the synthetic the added steroids etc etc etc - let us see the return of health through a healthy diet.

Have you ever seen an artificial turkey? Yet, they put natural on the label. People are still ignorant about what organic food is and the differences between whole grains and multi-grains. Healthful foods have so many benefits but because our foods have such a long shelf life from farm to table they lose so many nutrients. We really need to buy locally as much as possible. Besides it's good karma.

I think the natural on the label is to say it was not raised on steroids.

[-] 2 points by Gillian (1842) 11 years ago

No, not true at all. If it's not raised with hormones or other nasties, it will be labeled as that separately.
Next time you go into a store, look at all the many items that say, 'all natural' and then read the labels. It's just typical food that has been labeled natural to appeal to gullible people who confuse natural with organic. Have we ever had an artificial potato or artifical peanut butter? It's just silly mindless chatter that is meant to confuse people and sell products. The product may not contain artificial food dyes and so they refer to it as ' all natural' however, if it contains toxic compounds, those are not listed and do not seem to be of any importance to consumers. An all natural apple for example contains over a hundred toxic cumulative compounds from pesticide residue but there is no labeling or warning. It's up to you to discover this. Remember when everyone freaked over the pink slime in hamburger and the ammonia levels? I would bet that the majority of those folks are once again eating pink slime burgers. We have such acute reactions to hysteria but then we seem to compartmentalize these nasty truths and resume our mindless behaviors once again.

Exactly. It amazes me that if a farmer has a bunch of farm animals and their health starts to deteriorate - their teeth grow in crooked - the disease rates are skyrocketing with them - the first thing a farmer is going to do is question the food source....for some reason we can't translate that to humans.

There are doctors who have done this - Dr. Price studied populations that were completely cut off from the western diet and artificial foods - found disease rates and mental illness to be almost non-existant....and their teeth grew in straight - never needing appliances to fix them.

It's numbing minds, causing many to put on extra pounds, and creating drug addicts.

as well as type II diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, Parkinsons disease, work place relations, divorce and more.

I've witnessed it first hand; it goes beyond dysfunctional, many are non-functional. Because one drug leads to another and another and before you know it that drug addict is doing four prescriptions simultaneously.

Unfortunately I've witnessed all this first-hand as well. I'm not a doctor but I did help rehab many SSRI victims for a few years. I myself suffered horrible side effects from taking Paxil for only 1 month- prescribed for a wrist injury. I've never been the same. I feel like an illiterate alzheimers patient some days. But anyway, you're right that the high cost of medical care in this country is a result of side effects that lead to unnecessary medications, high cost procedures, surgeries and more medications. People want to believe that their doctors are ignorant and don't know these drugs are addictive, etc... but that's not true. They do know but they choose to overlook these side effects because they make too much money prescribing these drugs and it keeps the sheep coming through the doors of their practice. When I was on paxil and trying to withdraw, I literally sat and prayed that I could find a doctor to help me and one that would believe that it was the drug, not any disease that was making me sick. I had been diagnosed with MS, a brain tumor and cancer of my throat. I'm not kidding. After a CT scan, barium radiographs, soft tissue biopsy of my throat and MRI, I literally walked out of the hospital and refused to ever see a mainstrain doctor ever again. And, I haven't. I could not swallow because my CNS was so damaged, I had horrible muscle weakness to the point that I could not hold my own head up on my shoulders. Anyway, I did find a wonderful ethical doctor and he knew exactly what was wrong and he immediately helped me and changed my life forever. I dumped my health insurance because it was contributing to the practice of unethical, quick fix , corrupt medicine. This is why I don't like Obamacare and will refuse to buy any insurance. If they fix the system, fine but until then, I have no desire to contribute to the current system.

Interesting to hear from someone who has actually been on this stuff. I have a couple familly members who also attempted these medications and there was a very noticeable difference in their personalities while they were on them. Like you, they too decided against them and sought out different treatments that worked much better.

They make you so anti-social and remove one's ability to reason. Everything seems insignificant really. The first week or so, I did crazy things like dye my hair different colors and I ended up gaining 60 lbs! I spent money like crazy too..bought all new furniture and didn't care paying my bills or anything. Anyway, it took me a good two years before I felt ' drug free' even though I only took it for one month. I'll never take anything that alters my mind. Many people who have recovered, including myself, call it the devil's drug because it causes you to believe that the world is so evil that everyone should die. I had the most violent dreams that I've ever had.
Another way that it affected my life was that I owned a business and began noticing bizarre changes in my customers and knew that they were taking one of these drugs based on my own experience. Customers that I had had for several years suddenly became unfriendly, paranoid, even threatening. I had to file a protective order against one customer. It was so sad really- he had been my favorite customer, like family. His wife called me one night panicked because her husband was hallucinating, swinging his golf club and smashing things and talking to his grandkids who were not even in the room. He was prescribed Paxil for kidney stones. It's really affected my business in the worst way. One of my customers chain-sawed his wife into little pieces during a superbowl game. Another customer of mine shot his wife as she pulled up in the driveway. I'm serious as can be and I won't work for anyone whose taking these drugs anymore. People who take these drugs often crave sugar and will begin drinking excessive amounts of diet soda ( for some reason they crave aspartame) and or liquor. They crave carbs..anything that will raise their blood sugar because the drugs trick the brain into thinking it has low blood sugar. This is how diabetes results. So, as crazy as this may sound, I stay away from people who consume lots of diet soda!! I can tell when folks are on these meds as their eyes have no real soul in them. They seem to be completely detached from everything and everyone.

I support this hypothesis.

Great video. "I want to know why these criminals are still walking the streets" is a good rallying cry for OWS.

No, he asks for an investigation. There is a difference here.
