While the media is focusing on the May 1st general strike we should do everything we can to pass the word with social media, and in every means at our disposal. I believe success on this day will be very important for OWS!

A suggestion: While we all cannot be present at a general strike in person, how bout asking everyone in the USA to celebrate the general strike by not buying anything but food for that first week in May?? Even if 30% of people in the USA didn't buy anything for a week - say starting Sun April 29, that would get their attention like nothing else!

For those who really absoloutly feel they can't stay home from work without devistating consequesnces to their families something like that would be a fine idea.

Why not start by posting it on the forum?

Damn good idea. Not buying gas for a week might be a problem for some people though. Everything else is probably doable. Do you have any idea how much Americans spend in a week on average, excluding food or gasoline? I bet it's quite a bit of money.

200 for house payment

Pay it the day before or the day after the week in question. You pay your house payment weekly? Interest savings, I'm guessing?

It could also be a dismal failure, though I think not and certainly hope not, but I think hoping for the best and being prepared for the worst is not generally bad advice in life.

Your point is well taken, if it does fail that should be no reason to give up, but if it succeeds we will have pushed this movement to a different level.

A work strike will only hurt ourselves. We need to deal with the source and do a bank strike. See "April 1 is FICO the Banks Day". We will not pay mortgages and rents (because having a home is the core problem) and the relief will be immediate for so many. We also need to free our minds of the idea that we need the banks at all. The new currency is Unity. We do this now really quickly before the mediaganda machine can spin us out of it. I love you all. Dream Bigger!

You know, I proposed deby repudiation as a way to REALLY get the 1%s attention months ago, and the idea didn't seem to resonate with people. Anyway, as strike has now been called for, so I think if we advocate that, we better make it GOOD.

A general work strike would be the most effective, as this is not an isolated issue ( crime greed corruption ). The more people who take part from all walks of life the better to make that point. This concerns every living being on the planet. We can only directly affect this country, but that is a good start. Once we are back on track to health and prosperity we can get back to leading the rest of the world in TRUTH instead of hypocrisy.
