" ...we don't have assets of any significance right now on the African continent. We're only building that up.

And so what do we need in Africa?

What countries will welcome us there, give us, both our military and civilian teams, a good, safe base out of which to operate?

So we're focusing just on Africa, and particularly North Africa right now"

Keep focusing on how many rounds are in a magazine while our government takes the entire planet down into a violent, corporate shithole.

China is taking over Africa in a smarter way. by massive investment and moving some of their overwhelmingly numerous population their. WE have the responsibility of protesting all US military action anywhere (including Africa) In fact we should protest all violence around the world. I am against the AQIM, and Taureg violence in North Africa and any imposition of anti womens religious extremist laws (even in Al Abama)

I agree. They are way smarter.

Where we are in Africa does nothing but impose and support Christian extremism and/or Libertopian economics.

I don't know enough about what exactly we are doing in Africa. I guess I kinda assume it ain't right based on what we've been guilty of all over the world for decades.

The article on RW efforts to claim Co2 is beneficial is excellent. Everyone should read it to understand the enemy of the environment and the 99%. The homophobic, anti abortion Religious right wing wackos in Africa was informative and disturbing. I have heard a bit of their efforts to spread intolerance and how receptive the anti gay message is. TheWSJ put up a pay wall. (damn RW MSM murdoch owned rag) Thanks so much.

They've been planning it for a while.>

From a post a year ago - "The killing of al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden in Pakistan and the threats posed by al Qaeda cells in Yemen and Africa underscore the evolving and continuing nature of the terrorist threat to the United States. The Conference Report ensures the United States will have the ability to meet this threat and neutralize terrorists from these groups and conduct effective interrogations."**
