This is our chance! RIGHT NOW!!! We already have people on the ground!! We need to make all we can of this!!
We ALL need to do all we can to bring more attention to this! That means emailing every single last person we have an email address for. That means calling/texting everyone in our contact lists. We need to slip this into every conversation we have!
Now that Im back in Ohio for a week or so, I have been making flyers and pamphlets about this event. I have been making a stencil too (which may not sound like much, but just wait and see how many times I can get "occupywallst.org written in one area in one day). I have been pouring countless hours into processing the photographs I took of the first few days into images with a professional appearance and putting our URL as the watermark in the photo. I have been doing all I can to spread the images.
Let's discuss what else we can do to make sure we create some serious momentum!!!!!!

internetz chatter: I really think horizontal connections can be very effective. By this I mean using twitter to contact small time celebrities, music celebs of the leftist persuasion, radio show/podcast hosts, religious leaders, scholars, article commenting, etc. I think addressing criticisms directly and coherently but without anger, can keep the naysayers at bay while showing maturity and increasing traffic. Particularly pernicious are the aloof snarky armchair critics. Call them out, draw them into actual discussions about issues. Show them we are substantive and not just vaguely interested scenesters.
Video sites: Since we are dealing with a population obsessed with video but we can't access the mainstream media directly, youtube is obviously very useful. If you see a good relevant video, comment on it, "like" it, tweet it, facebook it, google+ it, email it, repost it on other video sites (like dailymotion, blip.tv, etc). Do mass emails as the OP suggested. If you are video capable, make creative videos or media art addressing the issues. Make music videos. Record a video describing why you support the protest.

Local: If you live near a university, post pamphlets on physical bulletin boards around campus and make posts on electronic bulletin boards. If you know of related or similar movements(unions, environmental groups, human rights orgs, liberal churches, etc) online or in your community, you can try to pull them into the fold by tweeting them with both their hash tag of choice and ours #occupywallstreet #takewallstreet #ourwallstreet etc., emailing them, or just by visiting them at one of their meetings. Its worth a shot to bring some pamphlets describing the protests and discussing the issues. As long as you aren't being vile, intrusive or stupid, the worst that can happen is they ignore you.

Do not go to mainstream media, its not time yet, they will nail you with tricky questions, their objective is to make you look bad. Only go to small news outlet like I mentioned before. or go to news outlet , that you know are pro-demonstrators. e.g. www.rt.com , www.prisonplanet.com, then you go to aljajeera...arab news, then you go to cnn but becareful with cnn. that is how Julian Assange approach media.

I think you should block the entrances to this new green zone they’ve set up around wall st. They can’t expand it forever. They are afraid of your non-violence because it makes them look bad. I urge you to engage in peaceful non-resistance. Get the media near you and then zip tie yourselves together by the hundreds and SHUT DOWN WALL ST FOR A DAY. Yours is a just cause. That little 3 or 4 block area of Wall St is responsible for much of the world’s suffering. We did this in the 80′s with apartheid. I spent quality time with Abbey Hoffman personally discussing his tactics. I’ve studied King and Gandhi relentlessly and I’m telling you, you have them on the run. You have a growing movement and you’re getting the world stage. But now you need to use it.

Are you aware of the october2011 action to be in Washington DC on october 6th? http://october2011.org/ Those are the reinforcements we probably need. I have the hint that their action has been more planned (nothing against occupywallst, of course) and they will surely gather several thousands from day one.
You guys should try to hold on till that date. And keep in mind that there´s a global demonstration ready for october 15th that i expect eagerly. This will be in cities ALL AROUND THE WORLD.

posting flyers is a great way to increase awareness without the added confrontation. however, we need a speech/leader to organize the protest. follow in the example of MLK.
