Let the education and the opportunity to unite continue:

The National Campaign to End Corporate Personhood and Demand Real Democracy! Move to Amend

About | Donate | Take Action

“Never depend upon institutions or government to solve any problem. All social movements are founded by, guided by, motivated and seen through by the passion of individuals.” -Margaret Mead

While there are many corporations that provide essential goods and services, there are others whose greed outstrips any benefit to our society. It is the bad actors that Move to Amend seeks to address with our Constitutional amendment to limit corporate power.

U.S. economic policy is not based on building strong local economies, entrepreneurship and vibrant small businesses, securing family farms and local food production, or manufacturing products; it is based almost entirely on what is good for Wall Street and huge multi-national corporations.

In the midst of all this, Move to Amend has experienced a red-letter year. Our message is resonating in more and more communities, but we still have work to do. We’re halfway to our goal of 500,000 signatures on our Move to Amend petition.

With four weeks to go, we can still make a big impact on our 2012 goal, but we need your help to make it happen.

We’re asking each of you to use your networks to get 10 more signatures on the petition in the next four weeks -- share this link: http://movetoamend.nationbuilder.com/petition. If everybody participates, we’ll far exceed our goal and expand our reach 10 times over.

Don’t forget that you can also download petition forms or just have your friends use their phone to text the word SIGN to 1-707-656-4019.

It’s easy to get those ten signatures at the meetings and gatherings you’ll be attending this month!

We’ve worked hard this year and succeeded in so many ways. Let’s use the next four weeks to accomplish our one remaining goal for 2012 — 500,000 signatures on the Move to Amend petition!

In solidarity,

Ashley Sanders, Ben Manski, Daniel Lee, David Cobb, Egberto Willies, Jerome Scott, Kaitlin Sopoci-Belknap, Laura Bonham, George (Leesa) Friday, Nancy Price, Stephen Justino

MOVE TO AMEND PO Box 610, Eureka CA 95502 | (707) 269-0984 | www.MoveToAmend.org

We, the People of the United States of America, reject the U.S. Supreme Court's Citizens United ruling, and move to amend our Constitution to firmly establish that money is not speech, and that human beings, not corporations, are persons entitled to constitutional rights.

It is very much a KEY issue.

I mean how can we expect people to do the right thing if money is blinding them? F'n Assholes.

Exactly. All pols are prone to corruption when the money is just dripping from the sky.

Must be 1st. And I still don't hear about it enough.

There is so much crap to address - and this fiscal cliff - being driven forward by the RINO's - does need to be resolved - in a way that addresses growth of the economy ( important issue that it is ) - is sidelining many major issues = Global Warming/Climate Change - the growing poverty in this country - Foreign Wars to be resolved with out the use of the military - etc etc etc

Oh yeah. Repubs created the crises to avoid raising wealthy tax rates, but we must stand firm. All other issues are critical, but the next few weeks must be tax negotiations.

If we don't get the wealthy tax rate increase (which isn't nearly enough) we will fail miserably, repeatedly on all the other issues.

This success will provide momentum, & fatally damage Boehner and Repubs.

This is a critical battle for the 99%.

One could hope that this will be the political tombstone for Boner and his cronies.

The thing is Boehner long ago was more moderate, which is why he's had such trouble with tea party extremists. They never trusted his conservativeness.

I like the comparison to the amendments that a few Democrats have proposed. Really dont love how they all fall short.
