Just as true now as it was then, as it will be in the future. Just let the people be and everything will be alright, assuming they are up to the challenge. I'm going to assume they are.

Centuries of sociopaths running societies from the top down, perhaps its time to switch things up?

A Public Health Emergency has been declared in the State of CONNECTICUT-that is where the Banksters live and have "summer homes." The Connecticut Guard could have been activated by this, because a Public Health Emergency is the same as Martial Law.Ebola patients have been treated in Texas, but no such patients have been known to have appeared in Connecticut.Meanwhile:DJIA 16,544.10 -115.15 -0.69% S&P 500 1,906.13 -22.08 -1.15% NASDAQ 4,276.24 -102.10 -2.33% NIKKEI 15.301 -178 -1.15% HANG SENG 23,088.54 -445.99 -1.90 ASX 200 5,188.25 -108.43 -2.05 Stoxx 50 2991.50 -50.95 -1.67% FTSE 100 6,339.97 -91.88 -1.43% CAC 40 4073.71 -67.74 -1.64% DAX 8,788.81 -216.21 -2.40%*I don't like Mondays, but I am dreading the opening of the markets on 10/13/14.Usually these dumpathons do not engulf the entire world as we are seeing for the past couple of days."It won't be as bad as one might think-we can learn how to swim in a sea of red ink."-Occupy Wall Street

I am gifted with Powers of Precognition.I predict the US will be involved in a bogus, spurious, ruinously expensive war which will be fought with borrowed money every 10 years, separated by 2-3 year intervals filled with saber rattling and extortionate economic policy. No Exit Strategy needed because we ain't ever actually gonna leave.

Protested.Played the Part of Cassandra in The Shitshow.Tried to vote for politicians that are against War.Didn't work out.I told my father I wanted to set myself on fire at the Jefferson Memorial and he asked me not to.Probably would have chickened out anyhow.I lived in Lower Manhattan for a few years in the 80's in a condition similar to Bartleby the Scrivener, handing out screeds on WS.Participated in efforts to shut down The Market.Hid subversive people from the Authorities.I have done what I could, and as you so astutely point out,it all adds up to a whole lot of Nothing. Now I try to persuade the very few people I encounter to be against wars.I live in Dire Poverty in the Boondocks of a Provincial Backwater,I am 57 years old,and in Poor Health. You are right though.I really should think up a Game Changer so I can inspire the Masses to think of that Other World that I firmly believe is Possible.and Act as One.The fact that I have failed in this thus far is,as you imply Shameful. It is unfortunate that I have no Associates, because the Power of Art is called for,but one artist alone cannot do what is needed. The corruption and Apathy of Artists you may lay at my door as well,if you believe in Blaming Individuals for collective Failure.

In the end what does it matter anyway? It's how we choose to live our lives and what imprint we wish to leave. Still, that sucks that you're in poor health and in poverty. Maybe auction some of your art?

[-] 2 points by trashyharry (3084) from Waterville, NY 9 years ago

It does matter. My best paintings cannot be sold at this time.I do small paintings I call "Crash Art" that I sell for $10-that's about all people have got for something you can't eat.I've got a system. The paintings are nice.I can do lots of them.My personal predicament started when the economy collapsed-before that I had a decent income.I fell on my face right out the gate anyhow. That's not the point. What about all of these young people? What about the compounding misery of the Poors and their kids? What about millions of worker's lives wasting in unemployment? The Fate of them matters a great deal.I consider myself to be a person who started with less than half a chance. What bothers me is the people who have NO chance. There are FAR too many of them now-99% of us,very soon.Believe me-many,many people have it way worse than me.If the best I could do turned out to be Not Good Enough.at least I have tried.

The ruling class view the world through the tinted windows of their limousines. Only when they crack their window do they suffer the noise and chaos the commoners must endure. As they observe the hectic struggle of the worker bees, they are nestled in excesses of comfort, tranquility and support. Every door is opened for them. Human interactions are guarded from them. Problems are delegated to others.

The worthless eaters are manipulated and punished by their creations. Our rulers decide who is elected, what are the laws, what is taught in school, what is heard on the news, who goes to war, etc.

When society is so easily allowed to be controlled. When people so easily relinguish power to their abusers. When people allow themselves to be so easily mesmerized by distractions and entertainment. So trusting, malleable and gullible. We make it very easy for them to be predators an us to be prey.

Henry Kissinger was quoted as saying: "Military men are just dumb, stupid animals to be used as pawns in foreign policy" Don't think that is an u usual attitude towards the commoners.

Never heard that about Kissinger but sounds about right.
