Forum Post: Landlord of the Internet - Feudalism has its day in the technological realm ...

Telecom just became the landlord to the entire online marketplace - they can raise your rent at random, at any time, and multi-nationals will hatch deals with them to drown out or kill their small competitors ...if people aren't turning over cars in the streets over this ... then I'm not sure if they even deserve freedom or a marketplace. They can blindfold the public over the deals the nobles make with the kings and lords. They already did this conglomerating monopolization with television news and drowning small business on main street - the one kink in their armor was this pesky technology thing called Net Neutrality... well they have fixed that problem. Feudalism lives.

The FCC was gutted by Reagan long ago, when he repealed the Fairness Doctrine.

What else would you expect?

Small government can only do small things.

Same with it's departments.

Besides, you missed this important quote from the linked article.

"This is all fixable. The court did not say that the FCC could not enforce net neutrality. It said only that if the commission wanted to enforce it—a measure the court broadly agreed with—it would need to decide, as every regulator in every other developed country has decided, that a company that owns the wires is a common-carrier telecommunication service. In its 2005 decision, the Supreme Court already confirmed that the FCC is within its rights to make this decision."

so you see?

It's not exactly a done deal........yet.

Where is everyone on this issue???? - I'm stunned !!! I have an idea let s wait until Net Neutrality is gone the internet is censored and then let's try to organize - really intelligent ... Net Neutrality is no more - The courts ruled in favor of Telecom/ Verizon....and not too many peeps on this ... there is still time now to prevent it - when things become the "new normal" it'll be too late - don't wait we've lost but we can't go down without a fight - the internet belongs to the people - not Verizon and Comcast!!! Spread the news about the court ruling now while you still can!

Call and write the FCC.

Ask them to make the correct decision. the one that continues "net neutrality"..

That's thinking big .sarcasm....how about a reoccupation in front of the fcc...how about never putting a decision this large in the hands of an appointed committee staffed with people whose pensions remain in the corporations for which they serve...?..

You do understand that that result is why they've been cutting agencies like the FCC for so very long?

That's why it was important for me to point out, that in the case of the FCC, it was Reagan's repeal of the Fairness Act, that made sure that down the years, they would no longer be able to train their own people.

They no longer have the budget for that.

So yeah......make a stink.

Write letters.

Sign petitions.

Protest, in person if you can.

But understand why agencies like the FCC are in the position,. they are in.

It's an ideology that DEMANDS.............

A government that's smaller than is possible to govern.

trillions and dollars and intrusions and crimes. it may be about priority and not a lack of money to do it. when the fcc needs another fcc to monitor the fcc, what is the fcc and which one is the best choice?

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 10 years ago

That's as confused as your statements on radicals.

Do you have a link to substantiate that?

[-] 1 points by RadicalsUnite (94) 10 years ago

if all people returning dead were aired, would we turn the television channel?

[-] 0 points by RadicalsUnite (94) 10 years ago

Do you mind?

Very much so.

I guess you're saying that you don't?

It's like all the money to pay for labor is available

for the privileged to drive the market

nawh ? wow shirlock how long you been posting here? 16,535 comments - really? They don't drive the markets - they own the markets, they are the market - watch what happens to the cyber market once net neutrality is gone - going going driven ...owned - rent forever lease forever - pay the lords and kings what they think you owe them. Sure they didn't create the internet they had nothing to do with it...but they could envision stealing it for themselves and they had the power to take it - "what have you got peons...?" Do you have an FCC in your pocket - probably not they've sure got us there.
