I've heard that people have been considering using tactics that are questionable. Among these is blocking traffic or blocking the entrance to the stock exchange. Before you come up with more ideas I'd like you guys to keep one thing in mind. Know your enemy. If your tactics affect people who are not your enemy then the it is not justified. By blocking traffic you're targeting people on their way to work and by blocking wallstreet you're blocking access for traders to go to work as well. The enemy are not traders, its not the police, its not people who invest, its not wallstreet or the capitalist system as a whole. The enemy are a group of corporations that are ruining our democracy and our country. Among them are the banks, the oil/coal industry, the weapons industry, the pharmaceutical industry (to some extent) and any other corporation that relies on money to influence our democratic system. This group does not include corporations that are beneficial to society like general mills, apple, coca cola, etc... So the next time you come up with new tactics ask yourself the following question "Am I targeting the enemy or innocent people?

A lot of suffering, underestimated people would like to join this path. However they are "owned" by big fish companies that constantly keep them under psycholocigal pressure as they do e.g. employee surveys or other brainwashing measures. Just -and I have to emphasise that again- only just for the purpose of confusing the general employee personnel. A naiv employee gets often tricked by such a superficial appearance which could be interpreted as the employing company really cares about their feelings, anxieties and hopes. Nope! Neva Eva. With such actions the employer even picks someones brain harvesting the main intellectual tendencies for own advantages. Really it is. Listen son! If one wants to start a revolutionary stream, one should show such modern slaves a apropriate way how they can join the occupation circle. Thanks 4 reading.

I'm sorry to say but all those corporations you listed above speculate at wallstreet! Of course, the country has always been runned by lobbies, do you really think the people you vote for don't have corporations behind them, that tell them who to tax and who to bail out. Then blocking streets and so on is not going to affect anyone because a great majority of people, unless they are blind have realized that the country is runned by thieves and wall street is just one of the tumors of society. We have private health care, the death penalty, very aggressive foreign politics, guantanamo, etc....... and this is democracy! If blocking the streets may cause a problem to someone just change street, New York is a big city!

The way to get people on your side is not by being assholes to them!

What you guys are suggesting is that we destroy the economy and deprive people from making a living in order to get rid of your pet peeves with any given corporations. If you don't like corporate farms, then support organic growers or teach people how to grow organic food themselves, if you don't like the working conditions of Chinese workers then show people in what conditions they're living in. You can't impose your point of view on every single little thing. What we can do though is demand that our democracy not be tainted with corporate influence and in order to that we need to respect other people's boundaries.

RoniMacarroni - You need to study your history. Civil disobedience has been successfully used throughout recent history. If the world took your viewpoint as accurate, the civil rights movement might never have happened. We are talking about disrupting activity in a complex of offices that have in many ways caused much of the misery and suffering in the world through exploitation. If that's not a just cause, I don't know what is. And, yes, non-violent resistance would peacefully block people entering "the green zone." You are absolutely correct.
