Forum Post: Keeping an Eye on Climate

It never ceases to amaze me how distorted by politics reality has become.

http://thehill.com/blogs/e2-wire/e2-wire/202732-climate-divide-widens-under-obama

Considering the equally amazing amount of money that would be better spent elsewhere, that has been spent pushing denial, is it any wonder that this simple reality is perhaps the one most ignored?

*Taylor said climate change is, at its core, a scientific debate. But unlike most scientific debates, it could involve massive government programs that Republicans see as infringing on personal liberties, such as a tax on carbon emissions that some Democrats have endorsed.

More bullshit from a denialist. The solution is to make the entire fossil fuel industry a public entity, with strict goals and deadlines that act as real curbs to any government over reliance on the income generated by fossil fuels; using these resources to implement a whole new system, one that has decentralization as a central design requirement.

And let us punish those who have embraced those worn out and used up tobacco industry tactics of denial as some form of legitimate debate.

let us take their heads.

now this quote is simply priceless:

  • There isn’t anything more illogical than a majority or plurality of Americans worrying about environmental issues but being sanguine about climate change. Human-produced carbon dioxide is the most pressing environmental crisis the human species has faced in its 150,000-year existence. The little Repelican children now toddling about at playgrounds are going to be hit by that crisis just as hard as everyone else. Their grandparents should be ashamed of themselves for throwing them to the hydrocarbon lions.

This one's probably a little too left wing for this place these days.......but....

It looks to me as if the editorial staff needs to exercise a great deal more caution and oversight over advertising on their page. It makes it very difficult to find the beginning of the article at the outset, and continues to be distracting as one reads down the page.

I'm willing to bet the advertisers are designing their ads rather carefully around the coding of that page specifically to be as intrusive as they possibly can.

the fukers

[-] 0 points by shooz (17796) 3 months ago

Yeah, it's not my favorite site, but every once in a while they post something relevant.

[-] 2 points by ZenDog (13319) from South Burlington, VT 3 months ago

I thought they were half way decent a year or so ago. Something happened since, and I bet the advertizers are capitalizing on it on behalf of their conservative corporate sponsors.

[-] 1 points by shooz (17796) 3 months ago

Could be.

I hate it when I'm on a site and get ads from Newsmax.

It's worse than FLAKESnews.

[-] 1 points by ZenDog (13319) from South Burlington, VT 3 months ago

I"m not familiar with newsmax - I think I've heard of them.

  • Newsmax Media, commonly called Newsmax, is a conservative [1] American news media organization founded by Christopher W. Ruddy and based in West Palm Beach, Florida. It operates the news website Newsmax.com and publishes Newsmax magazine.

  • Ruddy started Newsmax.com on September 16, 1998, supported by a group of investors, including the family of the late Central Intelligence Agency Director William J. Casey. Later, Richard Mellon Scaife, Ruddy's former employer at the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review invested in the fledging company.[2] One of the initial board members was author James Dale Davidson who edited a financial newsletter. Davidson's co-editor, Lord Rees-Mogg, former editor of The Times and Vice Chair of the BBC, later became chairman of Newsmax.[3]

But I gotta tell ya, I hate conservative Koch.sucking scumbags no matter who their former employers may have been.

I hate them

Conservative scum should be lined up and shot for treason.

Kill the fukers

every last stinking one of htem.

regardless of whether I can post or not.

[-] 1 points by shooz (17796) 3 months ago

Yeah, I was having the same problem.

Got the error message.

I wanted to talk to flip about his hoity toity Aspen vacations.

Must be nice, I couldn't afford the hotel room.

[-] -1 points by ZenDog (13319) from South Burlington, VT 3 months ago

I'm sure 90% of what ever he is saying is a complete lie - but the Aspen vaca might be true. Paid for by his employers of course. Perhaps even called it a working vacation and wrote off the expense.

Not that I personally care about any of that. I don't.

Lyin libertarian shillery and general all around repelican Koch.suckery is a harm unto this nation and its people - and I hate these fukers from the very depths of my soul.

I've actually had to perform the Heimlich - just once. Long story. Anyway, I know how. But if I saw one of them motherfukers choking, on whatever . . .

I would sit back, and smile.

Sick, I know. But quite true. I would.

Remember what I told you about the SCOTUS decision?

True to form, they did everything they could to bury it. Including dragging up bullshit duopoly threads from years ago.

Not a word from them on THAT topic though.

I guess they agree with the Roberts court. Not surprisingly, Occupy doesn't.

and trashy is back pretending to be jart playing devils advocate. Clever fuker, I'll say that.

[-] 1 points by shooz (17796) 3 months ago

The bots and puppets are back, I'm going to go take care of some things.

Trashy..........pffffft.

[-] 1 points by ZenDog (13319) from South Burlington, VT 3 months ago

I assume it's hcs little sidekick. these fukers should be arrested, handcuffed, and taken to a ditch.

[-] -1 points by shooz (17796) 3 months ago

What I've noticed, is that they not only ignore the climate issue, but the SCOTUS issue as well.

I'm surprised there isn't a new thread on drones, or Benghazi.

[-] 0 points by ZenDog (13319) from South Burlington, VT 3 months ago

Benghazi . . . yet another American slain in the interest of greater corporate hegemony and international geopolitical charades. That whole thing was a set of dominoes beginning with one

and his movie:

What hasn't come out of course are any ties Nakoula must have to various . . . Christian factions . . . within the U.S. Department of Defense . . .

ie: the faction of cowardly conservative scumbags

[-] -1 points by shooz (17796) 3 months ago

I make no assumptions. I just notice when they become active.

Trashymonique was always proud of his narcissistic disruptions though.

Bots and puppets are all he is. The rest is a void.

[-] 1 points by ZenDog (13319) from South Burlington, VT 3 months ago

I'm sure someone has a linguistic analysis tool that would reveal certain linguistic similarities that tie individual socks to a single user. And I bet my list isn't far off - incomplete maybe, but I bet they are all from one user.

Not making assumptions of that kind is generally the smart thing to do, I concede. It can be difficult to pin them down accurately in the absence of statistical analysis.

I just don't care, and it seems to have generated some small reaction. I find that interesting.

somebody better keep an eye on the climate because we know for a fact the right wing scum won't do it and in fact, they will forbid anyone else from looking either

these treasonous scum think that just because no one ever stood trail for assassinating the President that their lame ass conservative agenda should pass without comment.

These scum must be lead from the Capital in hand cuffs, taken before the bench, convicted for their treachery, and summarily SHOT

[-] 1 points by ZenDog (13319) from South Burlington, VT 3 months ago

truthdig's page isn't found. But I think I just found it:

The links look the same to me - so my bet is that it wasn't found first time around simply because the url breaks over the length of an entire line and that messed it up. I'm not positive about that - there are of course other explanations - like repelican machinations - that could easily explain the results I just encountered.

Acceleration, on all fronts,

"This month's dispatch comes on the heels of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's (IPCC) recent report, and the news is not good.

"No one on this planet will be untouched by climate change," IPCC Chair Rajendra Pachauri announced. The report warned that climate impacts are already "severe, pervasive, and irreversible."

well that really sucks - looks like our libertarian shill will get the last word . . . were it not for a system malfunction notice, I would post my comments directly . . .

Divide and conquer techniques make such a scenario impossible. Its why they employ it.

And here we had, in occupy, socialists and libertarians protesting side by side against the corruption.

And yet you continually divide and shred, completely unaware of what that was, what that meant in terms of real change. That was the beginnning fabric of real, meaningful change. Its why they shut it down. ↥twinkle ↧stinkle reply permalink

How astute. And it is the reason you reinforce this division.

Libertarians did in fact make up some of our numbers, it is true - *but the deluded fools were very strictly curbed in terms of their enthusiasm for Paulite Koch.suckery both on this very forum as well as at Burlington City Hall.

I know, fukwad, I was there.

Libertarians by and large, at the grass roots level, have been thoroughly deceived. Global Warming is but one litmus test to that effect - abortion is another. While neither may be one hundred percent accurate, on the whole they are quite useful.

As I said. You are not.

You are just another lying libertarian shill

.

And I'd like ta delete your lame ass myself . . .

Your loyalty to a belief that a 100+ yr old political corporation with an extremely ugly past and present, just might be something they are really counting on.

Our desire to be saved, instead of saving ourselves, is getting worse with time.

[-] 0 points by ZenDog (13319) from South Burlington, VT 3 months ago

this nation has been to war twice in its history to defeat conservative ideology when it has infringed sufficiently on civil liberty. We can do so again. Your masters will be laid low, and you will be left to hide where ever you may.

On a personal note, I hope it does you little good, but realistically it is of little importance one way or the other.

flip mutherfuker flip . . .

"Never in the history of the planet have humans altered the atmosphere as radically as we are doing so now."

Too bad it's not the Olympics, we've broke an 800,000 year old record.

Keeping an eye on media reporting of climate.

http://ucsusa.org/global_warming/solutions/fight-misinformation/cable-news-coverage-climate-change-science.html

Anyone surprised that FLAKESnews is the absolute worst?
