Hopefully, they are shutting down reactors.

Uranium power plants - such a good idea - NOT !!!

looked up thorium and looks like people think we "need" for cell phones

What we "need" for cell phones is tantalum which is used for making capacitors that are widely used in all electronic gadgets.

The Cold War diverted the whole world down the path to uranium/plutonium nuclear bombs and reactors through "dual-use." This is just like the "dual-use" tracks for our so-called high-speed (average speed of 65 miles per hour [105 km/h] between Boston and Washington) trains on the Northeast Corridor which serve freight trains, too.

No one has done much to implement a thorium reactor so the lack of a working model is a perfect excuse for many countries to seek nuclear bombs by disguising the effort as seeking the generation of electricity. Thorium, uranium, and plutonium have increasing atomic numbers so thorium is the best for civilian usage and plutonium is the best for making nuclear bombs. The message is right there in their names: God of Thunderbolts (Thor) for electricity and God of the Underworld (Pluto) for sending more souls there.

nuclear bomb have no use except warding off air strikes by other countries

The paper suggests body receiving low level of radiation develop a low level immunity reaction

up until this point; radiation exposures were determined in the amount accumulated

but this also indicates radiation rates are important.

Thank you Matt.

Nuclear bombs' maintenance program is very useful for employing people near our Nevada Test Site. Jobs, jobs, jobs! Isn't that our mantra?

Matt, what do you think of our using liquid detergents to clean up our decades-old pockmarks of bomb-testing craters? Can't we just simply hose it all down the plateau?

Nietzsche wrote that what does not kill you makes you stronger. Americans can evolve into Übermenschen, can't we?

They are very good being millstone ornaments worn around the neck of the national budget. The former Soviet Union achieved breakneck speed with them in the Cold War arms race.

Corporations and authorities dislike shutting down nuclear reactors because that takes away much profit due to the long restarting time needed to transmutate the nuclear gunk accumulated during the non-operational period. Chernobyl nuclear disaster was caused by the desire to avoid shutting down the graphite-moderated reactor completely.

If the managers decided not to shut down the reactors and the volcano spared disrupting the reactors, they would appear as geniuses. If the volcano disrupted the reactors, the managers would say that no one could have predicted what the volcano would do. If they shut down the reactors and the volcano spared the reactors, they would appear as overly cautious fools hurting corporation's profits. What do you think they would do?
