Forum Post: Is A New American Reality Dawning?

This content is user submitted and not an official statement

Conservatives surely had no objections when some of the so-called "True patriot" fanatics went around the country advocating insurrection and actual violence against certain government officials with their hate signs in hand and their weapons strapped to their sides, did they? There was no pepper spray flying or heads being cracked with night sticks then, was there? It begs the question, "Why?" As far as I am concerned. The Occupy Wall Streeters pose no threat to the peace as far as I have heard. (Except perhaps in the imagination of those who oppose these new courageous "Real" American Patriots because of a perceived threat against their comfort zones.)

But Radical Conservatism certainly appears to me to be soiling it's own garments with fear of what The Occupy Wall Street Movement represents, doesn't it?

Some of the shallow-minded from the pit of the barely-educated corners of this very extremeist and radical new- order Conservatism are reportedly claiming that the Occupy Protests are nothing more than some kind of distraction. Some of the Far Right Radical Religious moralists (The "Family Values" crowd) are reported to be saying that Conservatism has no disdain for the Poor or the Middle Class.

I have never heard such outright BS propaganda as that in my life! In my opinion, Radical Conservatism not only has "Disdain" for the less fortunate, it often displays absolute and uncompromising hatred for them and revulsion of them! This has been more than adequately demonstrated by word and deed in my opinion---and the whole world has watched---and is still watching!

In my opinion, based on nearly a century of observation and experience, Radicalized American Conservatism preaches "Christian" ethic with the passion of Crusaders and very often practices hypocrisy with the passion of something from the pits of Perdition.

Every time I read something written by some Extremeist Conservative pen, I get all this garbage about alcohol and drug abuse, public urination, defecation, filth and litter-- all deftly associated by some on the Kook Fringes of Conservatism with the Occupy Wall Street Protesters. (Or sometimes with Liberals, Democrats and Progressives in general).

My impression when I read that kind of uncharitable description of OWS is, "These Far Right Wing Radical Extremest idiots are describing themselves!"

After all, I have always believed that Conservatism draws it's lifeblood from among the least educated and most easily led sector of Humanity ever assembled for a cause... even though most of it's adherents seem to me to have no earthly idea of what the "Cause" is other than to discredit Liberals at any cost and by any means, devious or otherwise.

In my personal view, one of the biggest outright lies of Radical American Conservatism (And it is hard to focus on just one lie because lies seem to form the foundation for everything this particular flavor of Conservatism tries to do) is that the "Filth" element comprises the "Core" value and being of OWS Protesters.

Everyone who gets their news from the "Real" media (Not the contrived ramblings of the Far Right Wing-Created Revisionist Media that caters to those who need the fantasy to feel good about their deluded state) knows that OWS is made up of unemployed workers, teachers, public servants, firefighters, some police, some military, some retired folks, professors, academics, scientists and all kinds of people from all walks of life. These are good people; decent, hard-working people.

If anyone wants to invoke "Defecation" in their mindless descriptions of the actions of the OWS People, then let it be invoked in the following manner: "It is the Occupy People and those like them who are the ones that have been defecated on by some of the elitist powers that be." That would be a more accurate application of that disgusting terminology being flung about by the ugliness of some Far Righters.

OWS is real people in real circumstances with a real message to the real world---"Bring down oppression from the super rich elitists and restore human dignity to the struggling masses." That is my take on it.

Some faux Patriotic types used to run around in their ridiculous little tricorn hats and their replicas of Revolutionary garb spouting about "Taking America Back" by means of a new "Revolution."

Well, folks, I guess the OWS Protests are providing the beginnings of that "Revolution." The difference between OWS and their tight-silk-panty and tricorn hat imitators is that the screaming faux Patriot types sometimes advocated for actual "Blood-In-The-Streets" Revolution and OWS is advocating a Revolution through peaceful and orderly cultural change. This is how I see things.

The former revolutionary vision was a deluded dream of a bunch of noisy losers in Halloween costumes. The latter vision--the vision of the OWS represents the concrete reality of the future of America and the World. I get the impression that Radical Conservatism is quaking in it's boots because of this rapidly-spreading OWS vision.

I would like to remind my poor afflicted friends under the toxic spell of Radical Conservatism that I see the OWS Protesters as the movers and shakers of the bright new tomorrow awaiting every American with the guts to take up the cause of Liberty and Real Freedom, and to listen to the words of Thomas Jefferson who was a most sincere advocate for "Real" America.

"Every People may establish what form of government they please, and change it as they please, the will of the nation being the only thing essential."---Thomas Jefferson:Anas 1792.

Let me give you my view of what the new dawn mentioned will look like.. I recently posted this on a different thread, but it bears repeating for those who think the new dawn will automatically be a good thing. .

It’s too late for political solutions. Politics is too little too late. I think a financial meltdown in the US is inevitable. The American people are too divided on just about everything to get anything done.

When the financial systems fail it will cause a true depression much larger than the 1930’s Great Depression. Small business failures by the thousands, 25%+ unemployment, break down in the rule of law and limited social services. Cold, scared, hungry people are dangerous. They will do whatever it takes to take care of their families. Think New Orleans during Katrina in a lot of cities.

During the 1930’s Great Depression our grandparents were much more self sufficient than people are today. In the 1930’s a family could take care of a themselves with a garden and a hunting rifle. The masses today are not self sufficient. People will gather together by race, beliefs and values for safety and security.

At that point ideologies become less important. Survival will be the name of the game. Democrats, republicans, the Tea Party and even OWS won’t have much clout. The public will support whoever can create jobs and safety for their families.

Related, depending on which numbers you believe, there are between 190 and 360 million guns in America today. Right this minute two major gun manufactures’ have a backlog of over a million orders each and suspended new orders. One of the top selling weapons right now is the AR-15 assault rifle. People are gearing up for something other than normal self defense. I think they see the writing on the wall.

I’m no fortune teller, but I see it happening somewhere along these lines. I’m not yet digging bunkers and hoarding food, but the time may come. Is the new dawn of which you speak?

THE POINT & WHY WE MUST GET TO IT

The traditional Left/Right, Liberal/Conservative, Democrat/Republican dichotomy is a false and failing paradigm propagated by the powers-that-be to perpetuate division. The true political spectrum is not a straight line but a circle: There is a point where Far Left meets Far Right, where Anarchism merges with Libertarianism and these and the rest of our outmoded labels melt away. In that point must we place our hope, for only from that point can we build a better future.

Funny how far OWS has fallen just since this was written. OWS couldn't get a decent strike ginned up for May 1st and the Tea Party just unseated a 6 term senator. How many politicians has OWS replaced? :)

[-] 3 points by markpaddles (143) from Denver, CO 11 years ago

Funny how far the level of critical thinkers has fallen since you wrote your comment.

So why is it that the Tea Party is able to get Senators elected? Could it have anything to do with these tea party senators receiving massive funds from the same corporate forces that Occupy is directly confronting? The same corporate forces who have corrupted the entire political system... Hmmm, something to think about. Do you know how to do that?

[-] -2 points by BetsyRoss (-744) 11 years ago

Whereas NO OTHER senators or congresspeople or politicians EVER receive "massive funding" from corporate forces?

Would you like me to provide the reported amounts of massive funding donated to Democratic/progressive/liberal candidates or would you prefer to "avoid discussing" that?

[-] 2 points by markpaddles (143) from Denver, CO 11 years ago

You are using a straw man argument here...

Did I say anywhere in my comment that Democrat/progressive/liberal candidates don't also receive massive funding from corporate forces? No, I did not. That was all falsely presupposed by you as you decided to take a gigantic swing at a straw man. They are pretty fun to play with because you can pretend that you're really smart and that you thoroughly countered the person that you are misrepresenting... but in reality, you only reveal to people that you simply don't know how to logically follow an argument.

So here is a novel idea: if you want to start a discussion about that topic then just ask!

[-] -1 points by BetsyRoss (-744) 11 years ago

"You decided to take a gigantic swing at a straw man"

Thank you for admitting that your argument was indeed a straw man.

[-] 1 points by markpaddles (143) from Denver, CO 11 years ago

And thanks for showing us that you are as dumb as a bag of rocks because clearly you don't even know what a straw man argument is.

[-] -1 points by BetsyRoss (-744) 11 years ago

I know exactly what one is. Do you?

You said in your own words that I took a "gigantic swing" at one. Since my response was only to YOU-logic dictates that the ONLY "straw man" I could have taken that swing at, would be YOURS. Are you following the logic here?

And for some reason you seem to think that giving (SUPPOSED) massive funding to Senators automatically causes people to vote for them. Explain your logic here?

[-] 2 points by markpaddles (143) from Denver, CO 11 years ago

Yes, I know what a straw man argument is, and I even gave a clear example of one by highlighting yours. And, yes, you took a gigantic swing at the straw man argument that you created.

"And for some reason you seem to think that giving (SUPPOSED) massive funding to Senators automatically causes people to vote for them."

-- Thanks for illustrating to us, AGAIN, the perfect example of what a straw man argument is.

Do you know you're insane?

[-] 2 points by markpaddles (143) from Denver, CO 11 years ago

How so? Was it because I asked a valid question? A question in which you either want to avoid discussing, or simply don't know how to discuss.... hence, the need for you to vomit up toxic bile.

[-] -3 points by cherokeechief (-26) 11 years ago

Sorry, your post was so devoid of reality it took my breath away.

[-] 2 points by markpaddles (143) from Denver, CO 11 years ago

Asking a question about where the tea party candidates got their funding from is devoid of reality? Perhaps my comment took your breath away because you aren't able think and breath at the same time... I dunno.

I used to hold my breath doing long division

Not only does he not know he's insane, he doesn't know he's an egotistical idiot either. Hopefully he'll qualify for government subsidies and won't be required to care for himself as he ages.

[-] 2 points by markpaddles (143) from Denver, CO 11 years ago

Well, there you have it... Dr. Betsy Ross and Dr. CherokeeChief have miraculously found a way to give a full psychological diagnosis of another person just from this person asking a few simple questions. Simply amazing!

[-] -1 points by BetsyRoss (-744) 11 years ago

Nope. Sheer opinion.

How many politicians has OWS replaced? :)

There is truth there, and I noticed that all over the country any gathering at ALL, is now much more heavily controlled by law enforcement.

However, let us not focus on failure or worse, let us focus on solution. There is a bunch of solution being posted here by the article v convention advocates. Great stuff. Far more fundamental to unity in legal process that can actually gain the authority to make the needed changes than anything else I'd found.

Some of the ideas for preparation are astondingly constitutional. I mean delving deep into natural law, actually using the biological origins in some ways, to explain our dysfunctions and provide ways to amend the constitution that returns the needed function. This one thread blows me away at how complete the strategy is for seeing that a convention has constitutional intent. Folks for get to even read that in article V.

At the federal level we plan to unseat 537 corrupt politicians. At the state and local level the numbers are much, much larger...

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Who's we?

What politicians are you planning to unseat and who do plan to replace them with?

[-] 0 points by verdade (-24) 11 years ago

Ask anyone who passed 5th grade Civics the composition of the 537.

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

You do realize that answering a question or actually involves formulating an answer?

[-] 1 points by verdade (-24) 11 years ago

Big Hint:

435 Crooked Congressmen + 100 Sold-Out Senators + 1 Corporate Puppet Vice President + 1 Corporate Puppet President = 537

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

That's the fools hint, and very uninformative.

Here's a more informative and useful "hint".

It includes some 2,000 (R)epelican'ts and five of six Dems.

Vote all of these out and see what we get.

[-] -1 points by verdade (-24) 11 years ago

We're not talking about "voting" anybody out, Poindexter.

We're talking about Regime Change.

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Good luck with that.

It happens every election anyway, Admiral Peachfuzz.

Good God, some peoples kidz.

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

I already answered this.

I swear, some peoples kidz, just don't get it.

You haven't the foggiest idea who the tyrants are.

Maybe our local conspiracy theorist can help you with that.

I must warn you. You may need to add more Bigfoot.

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Good for you. Grow a set and head to Texas and get Bush, so you can turn him over.

Find Cheney, Rummy and Condi too.

You could go for the treasonous Koch brothers too.

How about Halliburton? Blackwater?

I could go on and on.

[-] 0 points by verdade (-24) 11 years ago

And Obama. Don't forget Obama. He's in the video too:

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Why not go for the originators first. It makes the most sense.

You should be down there protesting every more Bush makes. He is wanted you know.

There would be less security and it would place the current regime on notice.

"Lest we forget".
