Forum Post: Instead of killing the GOP, OWS decided on suicide, damn shame.

Is there anyone on here that wants to give it a shot to explain how in the real world voting for anybody other than the person that can keep the GOP from winning makes any sense at all.

In the big picture Obama is just as bad as Bush was. Some would say worse. So, why should I give a hoot who wins if either party is going to be just as corrupt as the other; i.e. boot licking to the 1%.

If the Demcrats want to win, they need to field some for real for the people candidates. Otherwise I'm just not going to bother dragging my ass out of bed to the voting booth.

[-] 0 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

why indeed, why even get out of bed in the morning? really what is the point? people live they die, if they are poor they die sooner, nothing will change that, you make a good point why brother at all?

I just said this to Matt but it works as well here i see your point, all is lost

[-] 5 points by Shule (2638) 9 years ago

I never said all is lost. Actually, I'm pretty optimistic. I just came to the realization that voting in U.S. elections is no viable course of action for positive change. If we want to change what is going on, we need to stop wasting our time with elections, and stop looking toward our current choice of politicians for solutions.

[-] -3 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

Your just another Monarchist waiting for The Return of the King. voting don't matter you're a con aren't you?

[-] 3 points by trashyharry (3084) from Waterville, NY 9 years ago

I thought #OWS came into existence because of the widespread realization that We The People, what we want, what we need, our future etc.are all totally irrelevant regardless of the outcome of elections.Yes-the Republicans do bad things. The Democrats do bad things that are watered down versions of what the Republicans do.The country has already been laid to waste by the two parties working together. If you want to try to elect people to office to save the situation,we need a third party.Since #OWS isn't a political party, candidates would have to originate from a new or existing third party.#OWS is not dead. Not at all.#OWS did not want to ride the tiger because once on the tiger's back, you don't know where you are going and you can't dismount without risking a mauling.#OWS will be around when needed and hard to locate when not. Those who wish to stamp out #OWS have similar problem to those who try to eat broth with a fork.Presenting a large, soft target like a localized organization with identifiable leaders just won't serve any worthwhile purpose.

[-] 2 points by trashyharry (3084) from Waterville, NY 9 years ago

What we need is nice flattop pyramid shaped structure to society instead of the insane flattop topped w/ a thin column topped by a needle.Or you could call it a destroyed rubble strewn pyramid base with a tiny steep sided pyramid floating high above it.We need a government that will allow us to create a nice, solid flattopped pyramid which is stable, and which will help us maintain said pyramid-IMHO.The government created in the US by colonials was designed by and for the 1%.So maybe it can't provide what we need.

I guess first step is making you King so you can get'er done!

"You-you-you-people like you are the problem. You didn't work hard or long enough to help the Democrats. You voted for Hillary and got dick and said Never Again. You got offended by you and your whole family getting thrown under the bus by Democrats after spending years doing gruntwork ward politics and giving all the money you could. How dare you stop working for the Democats! It's YOUR fault! Get your worthless ass back out there and get those Democrats in office so they can do dick ass nothing and blame the Republicans!"-factsrfun

[-] -1 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

The only way any of the crap you suggest is going to happen is if we make YOU King, I oppose that. You F'n ego whore!

oh and of course we all know that grunt work is beneath a ego whore like You the only work fit for you is King!

[-] 3 points by trashyharry (3084) from Waterville, NY 9 years ago

Well, you are apparently not informed about what has gone on here in New York with regard to the politics of the Democrats.I won't go into it here too far,but I will tell you that the illegal and unconstitutional railroading through of the NY Safe Act will ensure that the few Democrats who are in office Upstate NY will be voted out,and dislodging the Republican incumbents will be impossible. All thanks to our DINO Governor,Andrew Cuomo. My personal credibility was destroyed by the behavior of Hillary. She was not a shoo- in,as many think.I am the one who turned my hand into one massive contusion knocking on doors in her behalf, assuring people that she would not just step on us on the way to Better Things.Unless you went out, with or without misgivings in another part of the state, you did not knock on any doors for Hillary.Saying that I failed to do enough for Democrats does not explain why they are Losers.I can't encourage people to vote for someone I won't vote for myself. What I can do is poison any TP or Republican well I come across.I don't know why you are attacking me and I can't stop you from doing it,or from trying to convince people to vote for politicians who are not able to oppose the Republicans successfully at any level. So Knock Yourself Out.

[-] 0 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

Should I be surprised you found more ire for the Dems while the GOP escape untouched by your anger? Of course I should not be surprised as with your friend flip, your efforts are designed to elect the GOP.

[-] 3 points by turbocharger (1756) 9 years ago

When people defend Democrats or Republicans they should get verbally mauled for endorsing horrific corruption, corruption that has been proven decade after decade after decade.

Some say dont hate the politician, hate the system.

I say hate them all.

[-] -1 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

Your hatred will do nothing to solve the problem, creating change is not about making you feel better, it is about assessing the situation and determining the weak point to apply pressure so the system can be brought down. The weak point in this system is the GOP ties to great wealth and their one binding principal of the rich must be made richer, if pressure is applied at that point consistently reminding the public of that connection, it will result in the collapse of the GOP, that will bring the entire current system down, because as many have pointed out the Dems need the GOP, waking the people up will not be a one or two election sort of thing, but the folks in Washington will start being real scared the minute someone comes out saying they care about wealth inequality and they're not stupid, that would scare the hell out of Washington.

[-] 3 points by trashyharry (3084) from Waterville, NY 9 years ago

Sorry-maybe when you Get Your Wings you can fly up high and become part of the Floating Teeny Pyramid. If you don't,I will gladly sell you a pair of Hip Boots so you won't be contaminated further by the Bull Shit down here.Go for the Wings! Then you won't have to be in the same world with people like me,who hope for a world that is Equaller, since we can't have a world where everyone is treated the same.

Let them do it,Fax.Just let them troop to the polls and vote Republican.Or be overwhelmed with apathy and refuse to vote.Let the Republicans have it.No more SNAP.No more Section 8.No more Meals on Wheels. No more libraries.Charter Schools where the Gubmint voucher doesn't cover the cost.No more School Lunches. No more emergency fuel vouchers so people die.No more abortions done by doctors in a clinical setting so 16 women show up in extremis at emergency rooms daily in NYC and 9 die within days or hours. No more emergency rescues or FEMA.Privatized postal service so it costs 5 bucks to mail 1 letter. How many people would die as a result? Not nearly enough for the Republicans and the TP.Maybe then they would finally wake up.Would that turn all these stupid right wing dings into Democrats? Would all of the suffering and death the Republicans want so bad get the Free Stuff Army up off the couch and into the street? Right wing ding! You can't even imagine how stupid they are! "I don't really care about politics. My Dad was in a union.so my parents were Democrats, but I just don't have time to get involved." Have you tried to explain what will happen if they don't vote? It's like anything else. They got out what they put in.It's time for them to wake up.

[-] 3 points by trashyharry (3084) from Waterville, NY 9 years ago

Medea Benjamin is right. You are right. The most pressing problems are rampant militarism, war mongering and war profiteering. As Medea Benjamin has stated, none of the other problems we have can possibly be addressed in any way, shape or form until the people who are doing anything and everything to prevent peace from breaking out are stopped. The profiteering has got to stop. The most noticeable thing about your postings is that most of them are on the subject of Stop the Bombs and stop all the warlike activities. And you are right. The situation has devolved so far that just saying,or thinking Stop the Wars and War Related Activity is a revolutionary act.Vincit Qui Patitur.

I deny that charge - as to my limited rememberizing powers - I have never taken you apart easily or otherwise. I firmly believe that I have only ever added to comments that you have made - and never tried to shoot any of em down.

Is my rememberizing that flawed?

[-] 2 points by trashyharry (3084) from Waterville, NY 9 years ago

I believe you have enhanced my ridiculousness immensely.I have to think before posting in order to avoid having you immediately point out that my ridiculous,absurd.and/ or incomplete arguments have NOT GONE FAR ENOUGH!

But that is in no way shooting you down or taking you apart - that is just friendly support.

[-] 2 points by trashyharry (3084) from Waterville, NY 9 years ago

You are correct.Constructive criticism is always welcome.Any criticism that you offer to myself or others is just that.I have noticed that after a barrage of Trolling, you sometimes lose patience.Trolls will be Trolls. We can try any method for dealing with Trolls;nothing works,so there ya go.DK,I salute you.I suspect you are my superior in every single way.I have but one bonafide area of expertise-in that area I am among the best as I got my chops from The Best in The Business. That's good enough for me.The only real message that I have is that if we stick together,Another World Is Possible.

[-] -1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 9 years ago

hmmmmm I must be more confrontational than I thought. I really wasn't going for constructive crticism ( well I can't think of an instance off hand - but yeah I probably have done that - to you - though I really have done that to others quite often - though it does not always get percieved as such = constructive ) I just saw a couple of comments I agreed with and tossed in my two cents ( I thought ) - like with the slugs ( trying to be humorous as to the origin of the toxic creatures ).

Another World is possible. One that can be healthy and prosperous and peaceful for all.

[-] 2 points by trashyharry (3084) from Waterville, NY 9 years ago

It isn't just an idealistic dream that nothing can ever be done about.I have tried to organize people many times.I have always failed.I am going to try to find people who are interested in doing some serious bootstrapping to get some activists trained and set up in cities across NY State. It really would take a very minimal amount of money-almost nothing, really. If shortage of funds is stopping people,it should not.I am going to find out about this. The mistake I made in the past was trying to organize people who disdain bootstrap operations,or working for free in order to build up an organization. There has to be outreach. In New York we have an opening to do outreach to the Right Wing Ding. They need to form a right wing of #OWS because the TP and Republicans don't care about them. They are suffering alot of hardship.African Americans need to take a look at what their loyalty has got them. They are being literally Murked on Sight.I don't know what they could get out of the Democrats if they threatened not to vote.Maybe they should try it.All the Promises-especially to African Americans and Labor, seem to always blow away in the wind after the Election has been won...

[-] -1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 9 years ago

Promises-especially to African Americans and Labor, seem to always blow away in the wind after the Election has been won...

Truth - and that is why I have so much hope for initiatives like Move To Amend - to take the very 1st step in the right direction = Direct Democracy - where the people are heard - where the people actually take action and direct where this country is going and directs how it will get there.

You are correct = Democrats are not representing the people - they are doing their own thing. The same goes for the Republicans. The PEOPLE are not being represented - and that is what every individual needs to see/realize accept and then confront - confront in meaningful ways.

[-] 0 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

oh I see that's your problem you don't understand the binding concept behind OWS, OWS came into existence as people realized the rich were too damn rich and money has too much power in our public policy, OWS wanted to do something about that, and there is something that can be done we can crush the current system by simply telling the truth and yes it is essential that the GOP be completely killed in the process because only by standing on it's dead corpse will OWS be heard.

people who feed their egos rather than work for real change are the lowest of the low, Greens and other "third party" ego whores are even worse than the GOP at least the GOP for the most part are honest about supporting the rich getting richer.

it is true the interest in OWS in the general public has fallen as the forces you mention has grown within OWS, as I said in another post it appears OWS is committing suicide by associating with these third party ego whores

[-] 3 points by trashyharry (3084) from Waterville, NY 9 years ago

Well, what do you suggest? My own opinion is that nothing is going to happen until the entire system collapses. It seems counterproductive to totally dump on people who want to try to operate the Broken Machine.I personally do not know if their ideas will do anything helpful or not.As they say in Gaza-Hope Dies Last.

[-] 1 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

a few years ago polls showed over 70% of the people supported OWS and its statment that the rich were too damn rich, had OWS hammered the GOP with their policies that support the current system great progress could be made in eliminating the GOP treat while at the same time scaring the hell out of the Dems, if folks in Washington thought that OWS was ready to start taking away their seats then it would be OWS not the Tea Party that comes up at every primary, OWS could have changed everything, might still could... but the Greens and other vultures came in and killed it.

[-] 3 points by trashyharry (3084) from Waterville, NY 9 years ago

The civilians are still mostly in denial. They think Democrats and/or Republicans are going to produce politicians who "really care about the people." Some people have figured out that no matter who is produced by whatever party, they cannot compete w/o campaign contributions which come with strings attached. Some of the people just do not understand that any person elected to state or federal office can't function in opposition to what all of the other politicians are doing-serving the people who pay for the campaigns that will return them to office. No matter what campaign promises are made, nothing that is opposed by wealthy individuals and corporations will ever happen until the System crashes.I think it's not fixable at this point and I may well be wrong about that.

[-] -1 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

none of what you say, some of which may be fairly said, changes one tiny bit the reality that the GOP work day and night to make the rich richer there really is a simple solution and the first step is to Kill the GOP, if anyone thought for a minute there were people who were willing to take effective action on wealth inequality, then and only then will wealth inequality be addressed, as far as them putting up people that's the problem people like you waiting for them start doing what can be done today to change things and stop dreaming of some TV show where you get to call all the shots....

[-] 2 points by turbocharger (1756) 9 years ago

If this is still going on with the Senate and Presidency under your beloved Democrats- and yes for the 100th time Republicans are just as bad- then what is our solution?

Because what is going on right now is an absolute failure of monumental proportions- http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/sep/11/yahoo-nsa-lawsuit-documents-fine-user-data-refusal

[-] 1 points by MattHolck0 (3867) 9 years ago

why should I be concerned about this article

the data should be available to everyone

the people of the world should be treat just as US citizens

[-] 0 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

Oh I'm glad you asked the solution is to point out to the public the GOP's compete commitment to making the rich richer, this would result in the collapse of the GOP and the entire current "system" would fail because as we all know the Dems need the GOP to survive, take down the GOP and you take down the system, and that can be done, really should be easy with a little truth telling as long as we can keep the third party ego whores from screwing it up.

if there is any hope at all as long as people have a memory there will be no "third parties" in the polls...

The rampaging out of control capitalism/elitism - is currently doing it's best to kill all social programs ( socialist ) as well as squashing the last little bit of representation of a democracy.

[-] 3 points by ButtonHGwinnett (44) 9 years ago

Right. Wikipedia: According to Marxism, capitalism is a historically necessary stage of society, which has led to the concentration of social classes into two major groups: proletariat - who must work to survive, and who make up a majority of society - and bourgeoisie - a minority who derive profit from private ownership of the means of production. The political, social, and economical conflict between both groups (class struggle), each attempting to push their interests to their logical extreme, will lead into the capture of political power by the proletariat. Public ownership and management of the means of production by society will be established - this is known as socialism.

The concentration of wealth is the subject of recent economic study. The 1% controlling 50% of the world's wealth is a logical extreme. In the USA the situation is worse. It's a disgrace.

The United States has such an unequal distribution of wealth so that it's in the league of corrupt underdeveloped countries, no longer in the league of the developed nations, according to the latest edition of the world's most thorough study of wealth-distribution.

The most authoritative source comparing wealth-concentration in the various countries is the successor to the reports that used to be done for the United Nations, now performed as the Credit Suisse Global Wealth Databook. The latest (2013) edition of it finds (p. 146) that in the U.S., 75.4% of all wealth is owned by the richest 10% of the people. The comparable figures for the other developed countries are: Australia 50.3%, Canada 57.4%, Denmark 72.2%, Finland 44.9%, France 51.8%, Germany 61.7%, Ireland 58.4%, Israel 68.9%, Italy 49.8%, Japan 49.1%, Netherlands 54.6%, New Zealand 57.6%, Norway 65.9%, Singapore 61.1%, Spain 54.0%, Sweden 71.1%, Switzerland 71.5%, and U.K. 53.3%. Those are the top 20 developed nations, and the U.S. has the most extreme wealth-concentration of them all. However, there are some other countries that have wealth-concentrations that are about as extreme as the U.S. For examples: Chile 72.5%, India 73.8%, Indonesia 75.0%, and South Africa 74.8%. The U.S. is in their league; not in the league of developed economies.

Mr. Spock would say it is illogical that a democratic government of a nation dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal will allow such an unequal distribution of wealth.

The USA would be like Haiti without Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal. The New Deal has been under attack by American elitists from day one. Unemployment Insurance, Food Stamps, Medicare, Medicaid are the equivalent of sacred cows. Any politician that would privatize these benefits should be impeached. Republicans and Democrats are guilty.

so we live in a world of 50% kingdoms ?

[-] 2 points by ButtonHGwinnett (44) 9 years ago

Not exactly. It's worse than that. Obama is supposed to be a Democrat. Ask him.

Under Barack Obama, the U.S. has, for the first time in this nation's history, increased the concentration of its privately held wealth during an "economic recovery" from a financial crash. (Consequently: the bottom 90% have experienced no benefit from this "recovery.") Usually, there is more instead of less economic equality in the wake of a crash; but Obama's policies of holding harmless the Wall Street insiders who profited enormously from creating the bubble, and of restoring their wealth by taxpayers buying up their toxic assets via the bailouts, etc., have made the U.S. more like nations such as Chile, India, Indonesia, and less like nations such as Australia, Canada, and Finland. Although Mr. Obama's rhetoric has been opposed to extreme wealth-concentration, his policies have actually intensified that tendency. Republicans are not satisfied with the extent to which he has done this, and they call for even more extreme wealth-concentration policies, but Obama has actually benefited America's billionaires a great deal. Romney received most of their campaign money, but Obama has performed extraordinarily well for them.

According to the latest study by the highly regarded economic-concentration specialist Emmanuel Saez, the richest 1% of Americans have been receiving 95% of the income-gains during the Obama "economic recovery." This "recovery" has raised incomes for the top 1% by 31.4%. Everyone else has seen income-gains of 0.4%. Other studies have shown that the bottom 95% of Americans have actually experienced overall reductions in their incomes under President Obama. So: for most Americans, the "recession" has merely continued.

Chances are the handful of people in Phoenix that were part of OP are still active and doing things in your community, because thats what they believe in.

You believe in getting more Democrats in office. What have you done in terms of helping that goal in Phoenix the past 2.5 years?

You can have that as your goal, just dont bash other people for not doing what you think is the right goal, if you yourself do nothing.

Listen, I'm just saying that if you think removing Republicans from all offices is the first step, then you should probably be doing something that makes that happen, right?

I am.

[-] 2 points by flip (7101) 9 years ago

no you are not - not here anyway

[-] 0 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

even if I do nothing more than mute your constant praise of GOP it is enough

[-] 2 points by flip (7101) 9 years ago

criticizing the government - past or present is not the same as praising the gop - i know it is in your mind but to most people it is not. you should work on that problem of yours

[-] -1 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

may not be the same in all cases but the way you do it, it is indeed a support of the GOP, you ARE a GOP supporter there are many in the country, no need to be ashamed of who you are, why do you try to hide it so?

nor do you ever have a word to say about inequality you are pure GOP Troll.

You never criticize the GOP Speaker of the House or any GOP gov, or any GOP office holder ever, (Why??) because You ARE a GOP supporter.

[-] 0 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

I read what you said didn't answer the question, how does it help anyone to let the GOP win?

Here I thought OWS was started by people who did want to bash people for doing the wrong thing, like helping the GOP win or bankers steal.

[-] 2 points by turbocharger (1756) 9 years ago

It doesn't. Just like it doesnt help to let Democrats win.

Next.

[-] -1 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

So your solution is to stop voting and return to Monarchy? I disagree I think we can do better than just giving up.

[-] 2 points by flip (7101) 9 years ago

turbocharger is right on here - nobody is trying to talk you out of voting democrat. you seem to think you have the "truth." big news here you do not. so "just dont bash other people for not doing what you think is the right goal, if you yourself do nothing." i would add - even if you are! now i answered your question about the gop winning long ago and you completely fanned on my point. choosing to go on your usual misdirection answer. you focused on the fact that i pointed out that things got so bad in this extremely racist country that a black man won the presidency. i assumed you did it on purpose but now i am not so sure. so here it is one more time. first we have to agree that nobody knows the future - not you or me. that means nobody can say for sure what the right path is. second and i hope for the last time i will say that the dems are generally better than the gop and i voted for the shit stain in the whitehouse in the last election (yes i think he is disgusting - very nice and half bright and well spoken but killing people all around the world and i am tired of my government doing that. 64 years i have watched them do it in my name). ok having said that it is possible that things have to get really bad before the people of this country demand change. seems to me that after 8 years of bush and a huge financial crisis the country was ready for real change. maybe they learned a lesson in 2008 - maybe?

[-] -1 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

flip your comment is as jumbled as your logic, you have never explained why you prefer the GOP write public policy or why you think that W Bush did such a great job that you would want to help his brother win the White House, but feel free go ahead anytime you like...

but yes I think those that help the GOP win are killing this country and are WRONG!! they are scum each and every one who help elect Bush and all GOP scum

[-] 4 points by flip (7101) 9 years ago

you really cannot be this stupid - can you?

[-] 1 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

again you wish to distract the reader from your constant support of the GOP, and call those that see the truth of you stupid, can you read? have you read the crap you wrote above? how does any of it make sense? you are a die hard supported of the GOP and their make the rich richer crap first start to finish!

[-] 3 points by flip (7101) 9 years ago

not surprised that you cannot make sense of it. i used you think you were a paid op but now it is pretty clear who you are - i will try to be nicer in the future. better yet i think i will ignore you until you dispute facts - that will take a while i realize - usually males have to go through puberty before they can think rationally

[-] 0 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

oh the fun would be in seeing you make sense of it, the FACT is it makes no sense at all,

I don't think you're anything but a deluded idiot used by the 1% to keep OWS away from doing anything to upset their power

[-] 5 points by flip (7101) 9 years ago

careful now spanky. your masters have been unmasked and you could be in danger of a name change. i understand you had trouble deciphering this but try again - "turbocharger is right on here - nobody is trying to talk you out of voting democrat. you seem to think you have the "truth." big news here you do not. so "just dont bash other people for not doing what you think is the right goal, if you yourself do nothing." i would add - even if you are!" - not that hard to follow if you try. and keep in mind that discussions should be more coherent now - i hope - don't you?

[-] 0 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

Your Masters have been well known for a long time we call them the 1% around here, it is you that need fear clear discussion, I have always been quite clear in my intent to KILL the GOP

[-] 2 points by flip (7101) 9 years ago

great - kill the gop and we will have only one ruling class party - then what?

[-] 1 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

this comment really revels how small your mind is.....

[-] 0 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

Foolish troll do you know nothing of history? once the GOP is dead another party will arise, this one a people's party but to do so at a time when it would only empower the GOP is stupid and exactly how W was elected in the first place.

[-] 1 points by flip (7101) 9 years ago

so you know the future- must be a nice skill to have. sadly your thinking that you can know the future only proves that you are a fool or a child - or both!

[-] 0 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

I know something of history as well, I know how those like you put W Bush in the White House.

[-] 2 points by flip (7101) 9 years ago

you do realize that your response implies that you do think that you know the future - that pretty much ensures that everyone here with a brain now is sure you are not to be believed. i would advise that you rephrase your answer to me - say that you realize that nobody knows what the future may bring - you could also say you know history even though it is pretty clear that you have had an elite mainstream education so you have a ruling class version of history - which in case you don't realize, means that here now on this website for radicals you are at a severe disadvantage

GOP was the Party of the Great Liberator. It makes eminent sense to vote for anyone to allow the GOP candidate to win if the GOP candidate be the New Lincoln.

Voting provides an endpoint (such as a graveyard or orgasm) for social movements. Once it is over, it is over. Ask my former "WTF. I fuk'ed my brain out." buddy or anybody else who knows about the difficulty of the Second Coming (of Christ on Earth - it has already been two millennia). Persistent tension is required to effect glacial social changes, not an election or two.

[-] 1 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

I see what you're saying it was just an election that gave us W Bush who gave us the Iraq War and CU I guess things like that are not a big deal to people like you, so for people like you elections don't matter much.

why should I give them anything ?

they're just talking heads like the rest of us

encrusted in a 200 year old government contract

[-] -1 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

why indeed, why even get out of bed in the morning? really what is the point? people live they die, if they are poor they die sooner, nothing will change that, you make a good point why brother at all?

[-] 0 points by MattHolck0 (3867) 9 years ago

without jobs, we are not idle

[-] 0 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

still many do take jobs, which pay far less when Republicans set public policy, some would like for jobs to pay more, people who feel that way would do well to spend some time opposing the election of the GOP

[-] 1 points by MattHolck0 (3867) 9 years ago

so do democrats but they do nothing

[-] 1 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

if they do nothing but keep a Republican from holding the seat, then that is something, of course as long as they must go hat in hand to the rich for money to run little real action can happen, we had public funding here in AZ but the Robert's Court gutted it, but no one ever talks about that outrageous ruling.

People want democracy and then expect Monarchy. If you want to take the government back from the rich folks that own it then you have to be willing to at least make the statement that if you support tax cuts then you don't get elected, but right now we are still electing people that work to make the rich richer.

[-] 1 points by MattHolck0 (3867) 9 years ago

there ought to be greater motivation than money

[-] 0 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

public funding for public elections, but the rich will not give up their place of power willingly

[-] 1 points by MattHolck0 (3867) 9 years ago

I'll just lay down and die

[-] -1 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

everyone dies
