Sanctions against Israel, until it eliminates it's nuclear capabilities.

[-] -1 points by bensdad (8977) 11 years ago

how many times has Israel been attacked by Arab countries?
how many times has an Arab leader called for the destruction of Israel?
who defended the Jews during WW2?
who fought on the side of the nazis during WW2? .

"nuclear capabilites" = purely defensive
as evidenced from the fact that if Israel wanted to blow up ANY Arab country - it could.

how many Arabs have been killed by Israel since 1948?
35,000
how many Arabs/Muslims have been killed by Arabs/Muslims since 1948 ?
11,000,000

disarming the Arab/Muslim nations would save a lot more lives than disarming Israel

Iran is the one who shows aggression. You cant co-exist with muslim extremists

[-] 2 points by john23 (-272) 11 years ago

Yes, lets fact check your argument on Iran being the aggressor:

http://i1255.photobucket.com/albums/hh634/randomrandom744/Political%20Photos/Iran-vs-USA.jpg

In over 200 years Iran hasn't offensively attacked anyone.

I can see why they'd be pissed at us however...i mean we illegally overthrew their government in 1953....and we have attacked and bombed a vast majority of the countries surrounding it. Pretty sure us in america would be pissed if china overthrew our government a few decades ago....then set up bases surrounding us...and overthrew our allies and utilized their resources....and propped up a muslim regime in canada. I'd pick up a gun.....and I'm pretty sure 99.9% of the rest of americans would as well.

Well Said

[-] -1 points by bensdad (8977) 11 years ago

And what would America do if Canada claimed to be building an atomic bomb and wanted the USA obliterated?

[-] 2 points by john23 (-272) 11 years ago

What leads you to believe Iran is going to obliterate Israel?

[-] -1 points by bensdad (8977) 11 years ago

I never said that!
I said Iran threatens to

[-] 1 points by john23 (-272) 11 years ago

I mean....who was canada supposed to be in your comment above? "what would America do if Canada claimed to be building an atomic bomb and wanted the USA obliterated?".

When did Iran threaten to?

[-] 1 points by Builder (4202) 11 years ago

Canada just kicks arse in football, baseball, and hockey.

[-] -1 points by podman73 (-652) 11 years ago

Ummm that exact sentence from his mouth.

[-] -3 points by podman73 (-652) 11 years ago

Illegally overthrew their gov. Lol what a stupid and general thing to say, for you not acknowledge its way more complicated than that shows a lack of knowledge.

[-] 1 points by john23 (-272) 11 years ago

Was it a legal overthrow of their government? Did i miss something? CIA overthrow of a government is legal these days?

Pretty sure you're the one with a lack of knowledge....read up:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1953_Iranian_coup_d'%C3%A9tat

We overthrew a democratically elected government (weird...i thought we were trying to spread democracy...perhaps its only democracies that allow our companies to exploit their resources), and set up this:

"After the coup, Pahlavi ruled as an authoritarian monarch for the next 26 years, until he was overthrown in a popular revolt in 1979"

Lovely

Wiki is not a reliable source for anything.

[-] 1 points by john23 (-272) 11 years ago

Then refer to any modern encyclopedia at your convenience where you will find the same information. Or buy one of the other thousand books that go over the information in detail. Here's one for you linking to specific CIA documents:

[-] -1 points by podman73 (-652) 11 years ago

I read the link (at least it's not wiki) I do have a problem with "examples of documents" I would really need orignals to make a decision would you want someone makeing decisions a out you without orignal doc.?

I realize you are used to puppets not questioning anything you say but I will never be one of those if you can't take the heat maybe you should find a new line of work

[-] -1 points by bensdad (8977) 11 years ago

WRONG!
You can co-exist with sunni muslim extremists if you are one
You can co-exist with shiite muslim extremists if you are one

[-] 1 points by john23 (-272) 11 years ago

Fear mongering

I would get Robert Papes "Dying to Win". You can get it for like a dollar on amazon. Its a book written by a professor of poly sci who did the most comprehensive study on suicide terrorism to date. It studies every individual involved in terrorist attacks going back a number of decades. Its conclusions are based on data, not conjecture. Might help explain the "extremism" a little better.

If you are one it's not co-existing, that is mingling.

Iranian threat timeline

On 26 October 2005, IRIB News, an English-language subsidiary of the state-controlled Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), filed a story on Ahmadinejad's speech to the "World Without Zionism" conference in Tehran, entitled:
Ahmadinejad: Israel must be wiped off the map.
Our dear Imam (referring to Ayatollah Khomeini) said that the occupying regime must be wiped off the map and this was a very wise statement. We cannot compromise over the issue of Palestine. Is it possible to create a new front in the heart of an old front. This would be a defeat and whoever accepts the legitimacy of this regime has in fact, signed the defeat of the Islamic world. Our dear Imam targeted the heart of the world oppressor in his struggle, meaning the occupying regime. I have no doubt that the new wave that has started in Palestine, and we witness it in the Islamic world too, will eliminate this disgraceful stain from the Islamic world.

Many news sources repeated the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting statement by Ahmadinejad that "Israel must be wiped off the map",an English idiom which means to "cause a place to stop existing",or to "obliterate totally", or "destroy completely".

The Iranian presidential website stated that "the Zionist Regime of Israel faces a deadend and will under God's grace be wiped off the map," and "the Zionist Regime that is a usurper and illegitimate regime and a cancerous tumor should be wiped off the map."

EU leaders issued a strong condemnation of the remarks: "[c]alls for violence, and for the destruction of any state, are manifestly inconsistent with any claim to be a mature and responsible member of the international community." On 17 November, the European Parliament adopted a resolution condemning Ahmadinejad's remarks and called on him to retract his bellicose comments in their entirety and to recognise the state of Israel and its right to live in peace and safety.[48] Then Prime Minister of Canada Paul Martin also condemned the comments on several occasions.

The day after Ahmadinejad's remarks, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon called for Iran to be expelled from the United Nations[citation needed] and Israel's Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom called for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council. In that meeting, all fifteen members condemned Ahmadinejad's remarks.

Khaled Meshaal, the Damascus-based political leader of ruling Hamas party, has supported Ahmadinejad's stance towards Israel calling Ahmadinejad's remarks "courageous". He has said that "Just as Islamic Iran defends the rights of the Palestinians, we defend the rights of

In August 2006, Deutsche Welle, citing AFP, reported that Ahmadinejad had written a letter to German Chancellor Angela Merkel suggesting that the victorious Allied powers in World War II may have invented the HOLLLOcaust to embarrass Germany. "Is it not a reasonable possibility that some countries that had won the war made up this excuse to constantly embarrass the defeated people ... to bar their progress," Ahmadinejad reportedly wrote in the letter. Merkel indicated that she would not formally respond to the letter, saying it contained "totally unacceptable" criticism of Israel and the Jewish state's right to exist.

In a September 2006 interview with NBC Nightly News Anchor Brian Williams, Ahmadinejad said that when he called the HOLLLOcaust a myth he was merely trying to communicate that it was not just Jews that died, but millions of people

At a HOLLLOcaust conference at Sharif University of Technology in Tehran on 27 January 2009, Ahmadinejad stated: For 60 years they allowed no one to question and cast doubt on the logic of the HOLLLOcaust and its very essence – because if the truth were to be exposed, nothing would remain of their logic of liberal democracy. It is the very advocates of liberal democracy who defend the HOLLLOcaust, who have sanctified it to the point where none may enter. In early June 2009, Ahmadinejad described Israel as "the most criminal regime in human history" and spoke about the "great deception of the HOLLLOcaust" in a speech quoted by IRIB. The U.S. Senate unanimously agreed to a resolution condemning Ahmadinejad’s "harmful, destructive, and anti-Semitic statements."

On 3 Aug 2006, in a speech during an emergency meeting of Muslim leaders, Ahmadinejad called for "the elimination of the Zionist regime". On 11 December 2006, at the "International Conference to Review the Global Vision of the HOLLLOcaust" in Tehran, Ahmadinejad said: “The Zionist regime will be wiped out soon the same way the Soviet Union was

Those who think they can revive the stinking corpse of the usurping and fake Israeli regime by throwing a birthday party are seriously mistaken. Today the reason for the Zionist regime's existence is questioned, and this regime is on its way to annihilation."[98]

Ahmadinejad also stated that Israel "has reached the end like a dead rat after being slapped by the Lebanese." Later, he said: "The Zionist regime is dying," and "The criminals imagine that by holding celebrations (...) they can save the Zionist regime from death." Ahmadinejad also stated that "They should know that regional nations hate this fake and criminal regime and if the smallest and briefest chance is given to regional nations they will destroy (it)".
At a HOLLLOcaust conference at Sharif University of Technology in Tehran on 27 January 2009, Ahmadinejad stated: The illegitimate Zionist regime is an outcome of the HOLLLOcaust... a political and power-seeking network claimed to be the advocate for one group of the victims, and sought reparations for their blood. [This network] ruled that the survivors of this particular group of victims must receive compensation – and part of this compensation was to establish the Zionist regime in the land of Palestine. On this pretext, they attacked Palestine and, after massacring the [indigenous] people and driving them from their homes, they occupied their homeland and created the Zionist regime – in order to ensure that no regional power would emerge in the Islamic lands except for the West, [because] Islamic civilization and culture have the dynamic potential to threaten their interests, which were based on oppression and thirst for power. These principles and philosophy comprise the Zionist regime.[79] "An incident known as 9/11 occurred. It is not yet clear who carried it out, who collaborated with them, and who paved the way for them. The event took place, and – like in the case of the HOLLLOcaust – they sealed it off, refusing to allow objective research groups to find out the truth. They invaded Iraq and Afghanistan, using 9/11 as a pretext." March 11, 2010 "See what has become of Israel. They [the West] gathered the most criminal people in the world and stationed them in our region with lies and fabricated scenarios. They waged wars, committed massive aggression… and made millions of people homeless…Today, it is clear that Israel is the most hated regime in the world… It is not useful for its masters [the West] anymore. They are in doubt now. They wonder whether to continue spending money on this regime or not…But whether they want it or not, with God's grace, this regime will be annihilated and Palestinians and other regional nations will be rid of its bad omen." (Televised and translated on Iranian Television)

In July 2012, ahead of Qods Day, Ahmdainejad said that "any freedom lover and justice seeker in the world must do its best for the annihilation of the Zionist regime in order to pave the path for the establishment of justice and freedom in the world," and that the ultimate objective of world forces must be the annihilation of the "Zionist regime". Ahmadinejad added that “the Zionist regime is both the symbol of the hegemony of the Zionism over the world and the means in the hand of the oppressor powers for expansion of their hegemony in the region and in the world” and that "liberating Palestine" would solve all of the world's problems. Ahmadinejad also made allegations and repeated traditional anti-Semitic slurs that "Zionists" control the world's media and financial systems, and that a "horrible Zionist current" had been managing world affairs for "about 400 years."

In August 2012, at an annual protest against the existence of Israel, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that "the very existence of the Zionist regime is an insult to humanity" and that "the Zionist regime and the Zionists are a cancerous tumor. Even if one cell of them is left in one inch of (Palestinian) land, in the future this story (of Israel's existence) will repeat." Ahmadinejad also said that Israel would soon be finished off, and that “the nations of the region will soon finish off the usurper Zionists in the Palestinian land". Ahmadinejad added that "it is dangerous if even 10% of the territory is given to the Zionists." Ahmadinejad also said, "The western powers cannot tolerate criticism of the Zionist regime. They feel compelled to defend it."

On 24 September 2012, during the opening week of the United Nations General Assembly, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ignored a warning by the United Nations to cease from harsh rhetoric and in reference to the founding of Israel in 1948, stated that Israel did not have any modern roots in the Middle East and would be "eliminated". He claimed that, historically, Israelis were "minimal disturbances that come into the picture and are then eliminated." His comments were condemned by the United States as "disgusting, offensive, and outragoues," and by Israel as proving that Ahmadinejad "not only threatens the future of the Jewish people, he seeks to erase our past. Three thousand years of Jewish history illustrate the clear danger of ignoring fanatics like Iran's president, especially as he inches closer to acquiring nuclear weapons."

Ahmadinejad has no authority over whether or not they go to war. That power is reserved to the supreme leader of Iran....not Ahmadinejad.

and i repeat,.....Iran hasn't offensively attacked anyone in over 200 years. If anything, i think Iran is acting logically to a built up military threat in the region....as its neighbors have been squashed by western powers.

Irans military budget in 2008 was around 7 billion dollars....new estimates put it at 10-12 billion....maybe. The US.....over a trillion.... Iran isn't stupid......they would be squashed like a bug in a heartbeat. They are acting logically to a perceived outside threat. Israel has been itching in its boots for a war with Iran for a number of years thanks to Netanyahu. This has nothing to do with a threat from Iran...this has to do with resources...and strategic intersets in the area....just like Iraq...and Afghanistan...and Libya...and Syria...and on...and on.

You do realize that Israel and the US used to sell weapons to Iran right? Once again....blowback comes full circle.

I do not know enough to know what Israel or America or the world should DO about a country run by maniacs who may use atomic weapons and repeatedly threatens violence against its neighbors.

But Iran - with a VERY young - western leaning - population - will be free of mr. a in August 2013

TO ME, this is the key point
