Forum Post: I know the Rs won't admit it - the ACA is NOT the ACA web site

Posted 10 years ago on Oct. 23, 2013, 1 p.m. EST by bensdad (8977)
This content is user submitted and not an official statement

from Kaiser calculator: [ national averages ]
mom + dad + 4 kids + $50,000 income
$183/month or $31/person

mom + dad + 4 kids + $100,000
$792/month

is this the reason for the maniacal attack ? the rich pay more than the poor ?

As long as the Rs spew the web site issue, they wont have to answer where did the $24,000,000,000.00 go ?
and how much of this will the koch brothers pay ?

First of all: The Horror! THE HORROR! A Computer Problem, a Website Problem ~ A COMPUTER-WEBSITE PROBLEM!!! How Can THIS Be Happening!!!???

Second: Now, you don't think mischievous prankster RW RepubliCon groups, Dittoheads, Zombies, Trolls or Teabag Talibans would do anything to trip up the new Health Care system they just had a Government Shutdown over and had 40+ Congressional Hearings to repeal (costing taxpayers unaccountable Billions if not Trillions) do you? Or is that just too cynical?

No it’s not too cynical, it’s just dead wrong, the slower this rolls out the better it is for us, not the few renegade republicans that are opposed to the ACA. They are demanding that all information regarding the cost of new ACA be released. This is because they believe the reality of the cost will change people’s minds about supporting the ACA in the political arena. They simply will not accept the fact that the political debate is over, the law was passed and the chances of repealing the law are slim to none. The slower this plan rolls out the better. By the time people realize what it is really going to cost it will be too late and we will have already won.

More RW, 1%, Zombie talking points.

No, you are propagandizing in bad faith, with unclean hands, deliberately spewing dishonest 1% doctrine, for a vulture capitalist agenda.

Facing a series of telling losses in the last few elections, and having nothing but straight up fascism to sell, you RepubliCon Cultists are going for Slime, Smear and Scorched Earth Destruction. Enjoy the (R) Hoover-Depression, (R) Nixon-Treason, (R) Raygun-Convictions/Indebtedness, (R) Bush-War & Treasury Defraudation, cesspool of 1%-GOP war on American Democracy!!

The problem with ACA/OC is the goddamn middlemen ~ the gouging, skimming, cost-amplifying, and completely unnecessary Insurance Companies ~ compromise to get this far overdue reform started. Public Helathcare, like the rest of the modern world!

Nation That Waited Decades to Pass Health Care Infuriated by Slow Web Site

Posted by Andy Borowitz | October 21, 2013

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—A nation that waited several decades for health insurance is becoming increasingly infuriated by a Web site that is wasting minutes of its time, reports from across the United States confirm.

The official Web site of Obamacare, HealthCare.gov, has been plagued by glitches, crashes, and sluggishly loading pages, say millions of angry Americans attempting to log on to the site at exactly the same time.

“Look, I know that we had to wait longer for health care than virtually every other industrialized nation on earth,” said Tracy Klugian, a muffler salesman from Akron, Ohio. “But the time I spent on that Web site is thirty-five minutes I’ll never get back.”

Sharing what he called his “Obamacare horror story,” Mr. Klugian said, “Being on that Web site slowed down our wi-fi so much that my kids couldn’t stream videos. For a so-called health-care program, it’s causing a lot of stress that’s the opposite of healthy, if you ask me.”

Harland Dorrinson, a gym manager from Knoxville, Tennessee, had an Obamacare nightmare of his own, having to log on to the site “two completely different times” before getting health insurance for the first time in his life.

“President Obama said he was going to make health care affordable and available to millions of Americans,” he said, bitterly. “He didn’t tell us it would take more than an hour.”

EDIT: With a 6 month sign-up period and alternative routes other than the web site. The panic is artificial and an ongoing attempt to fuck with public perception. Granted CIG should not have gotten the contract in the 1st place - but - still - the web site does not kill ACA.

Besides the problem with the web site does not affect those with the greatest need to sign-up - "THEY" don't have a computer.

Time for freeloaders to pay up!

There are approximately 63 factors involved in rating the cost of health care coverage under the Affordable Health Care Act. The district that you live in, its environmental risks and the median income of the local population are all significant factors; it is not solely based on your income. Other risk factors that will apply beyond the first year are: Obesity Smoking Diet and work related risk The absolute lowest cost for a family of 4 as of now is $274.78 per month; there are about counties in the U.S. that qualify for this price. The least expensive plan available in the state of Wyoming is $425.00 and YES low cost plans carry high deductibles.

At this stage, it is senseless to perpetuate misinformation about the ACA; the law is here to stay and misleading people into thinking it is a charity or some way of lashing out at the wealthy will only cause discontent when they are faced with reality. The uninsured are a tremendous drain on our health care system, we have finally elected a president who truly understands this dilemma and is willing to stand up to these people and make them carry their weight.

Thanks for the details, how did you get them?

You are missing the biggest freeloaders of all Big Oil, Wall Street & the MIC!

[-] -1 points by Zophim99 (12) 10 years ago

Your confused, Big Oil and Wall Street are the system and you owe just as much to these institutions as you do to insurance and pharmaceuticals. What do you think the president was talking about during his famous “You didn’t build that” speech? He was referring to the corporations that lobbied to have the roads and bridges built to advance commerce. He was referring to the tech industry that built the communications infrastructure to advance commerce; petroleum based commerce funded by Wall St. He’s right you didn’t build that and now it’s time for you to pay your fair share toward two other major industries vital to the country’s economy and the success of Wall St Investors; insurance and pharmaceuticals.

No, you are propagandizing in bad faith, with unclean hands, deliberately spewing dishonest 1% doctrine, for a vulture capitalist agenda.

Obama was talking about the Commons (paid for and provided by American taxpayers and workers) which provide the foundation and support for business to startup and operate in the first place. In addition he was talking about the taxes that Americans pay, in money and labor, that facilitate and produce the products business sells. And he was talking about the great debt business owes America.

But instead of paying back their debt to America, business can't stop raping and pillaging America (gambling & getting bailed out, redistributing world record wealth to the top 1%, and hoarding it while the rest of the country goes broke) in their psychotic frenzy of rapacious GREED!!! Unregulated capitalism has led to a 1% of the 1% Tyrannical Monarchy! And it is an abomination we must reverse!! Only Obama is too polite [read: angling whales with 100lb test and with a herd of cats to back him up] to say it.
