I have been following this movement for a while with great concern. While I appreciate your sentiment, I can't agree with your methods. They endanger the lives of the people within and outside of your movement. If you can "sort out" the fringe factions and be vigilant in your responsibility towards all members of Occupy then by all means continue. If you impede the people's right to work and support their families, regardless of their inability to "wake up" and see the truth, you are impeding on their choices on how to best live their lives and to protect their families. You've sort of got your message out. I mean, you have me thinking about things. Please understand, my perspective is not one based on religion or politics. It is instead based on the safety and well being of my fellow human. I realize that you can't stop everyone from hurting others or themselves. It is a sad fact of life. You can however, take responsibility for those that are part of your group. They came to occupy because you said something that spoke to their hearts and minds. Don't blame-shift, as is common in a large corporation. Don't let these people die because of an accident. If this type of death continues to increase than you will no longer have my support. On the other hand, if people are truly dying for a reason, I will still be sad, but at least their deaths will have meant something. I am certain this will fall on deaf ears, but it's gotten to a point where I felt like I had to say something. Oh and not that it matters, but I came from a immigrant family. I was born here, I am a first generation hispanic that has fought for my country and still believe in it. I have worked hard all of my life and I owe the government a lot of money for my education. I am fortunate enough to have a job in a field that actually has something to with my art degree and I am comfortable. I took 15 years for me to make it happen. While I tried I was a soldier and a telephone technician. If I lost it all tomorrow, I would start all over again and it would suck and I would be frustrated, but I have a wife and child to support so I would happily do it. They depend on me. I know that not everyone has the ability to work past there fears and frustrations in order to succeed, but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't try. It also doesn't mean that your message in the occupy movement is wrong, but it does seems naive. You can make all of this right if you think less with your hearts and more with your minds. Speak sensibly about your concerns without letting emotions, politics and religion and racism get in the way? Try it, you might actually get somewhere. Good luck to you all.

I agree, you speak well and with more than a little insight.

If I might add one more comment. DO NOT pronounce yourself martyrs or allow your suppporters to make you such as some of them are now doing. This is NOT about martyrdom today. Even the most ardent terrorist is not a martyr until he blows himself up and takes at least one other person with him. If freezing your a off in a park and yelling for "help" because you need feet and hand warmers make you a martyr, I will totally have to rethink the way I address the homeless issue in my hometown.

Absolutely ronjj! I am gonna throw out a tricky word, but perspective depending on how you define it is the key here. I only say it like that because my perspective is likely different than many at owe and if that is the case someone help me gain a greater understanding.
