Forum Post: How the U.N. and big business aided the degradation of women.

There are credible allegations that that the U.N., a U.S. military contractor and possibly the U.S. military colluded to try to prevent knowledge of the involvement of their personal, not only as customers, but as actual traffickers of women for sexual slavery. Horrifying? Sure! Shocking? I’m shocked to find myself not as shocked as I should be.

War is an evil human failing. And most war ultimately comes down to a desire for material gain through one means or another. But Eisenhower’s warning of more than 50 years ago resonates in this; is what we are seeing perpetual war for private profit? The unholy alliance of an amoral, sociopathic big business ethos with war? And with individuals and other institutions infected by this ethos with no regard for human decency beyond their personal profit and pleasure?

Such is the nature of the privatization of war for profit.
