Forum Post: How do we know when to make a historic decision?

The Constitution calls for Citizens to rise against the government if it were ever to go corrupt. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Our sons lives are placed on the betting table of war. Corps get tax breaks and get grants for billions while our own get tossed out onto the street for missing house payments. The government is and always will be for and run by the 1% who control and run our economy/country unless we rise and bring them down. They are in it for themselves! They don't care about us. A new constitution needs to be made, as well as establishing a true democracy that is run by the people for the people and not by corporations for corporations. We need to unite, for the 99 is at it's strongest in numbers. OWS-411 is here and ready to be called into duty. Violence is the only way to compete with greed and the unmoral. History is repeating itself and I am tired of that same old tune. Its time to create a new track.

I think boycotting businesses and supporting/starting worker's coops can gradually break us free from this vicious cycle and our reliance on the corrupt and inefficient government bureaucracies and psychopathic corporations.

Before you decide that violence is the only way, I strongly urge you to do an internet search on the term 'Rex 84.' In fact, I think EVERY supporter of OWS do the same.

I figured as much; if there's actually a chance of violence at the scale that would be necessary to replace the government it's going to be an actual war with us against the army, the cops, and most if not all of the country. Just one more reason for us to try doing things with money and votes rather than guns.

Exactly. I assume you're familiar with Rex 84 or its updates. Apparently they can issue martial law simply for the widespread demonstrations that are now occurring, violent or not. Widespread dissidence is all that's required.

AND the citizens of this country are authorized to take up arms in defense of themselves and their property without the President's permission. There are militias just waiting for OWS to push it just a little too far....and history will remember them for being the spark that ignited the next world war. Are you ready to be responsible for that?

Why do you think one of the major points being made is we have to do this WITHOUT violence. Violence plays right into their hands. I don't understand why so many are unable to grasp that fact. I am 100% against the use of violence to achieve our goals. You best Google 'Rex 84' before you decide to take up arms.

I don't want World War III, I don't want Civil War II, and I don't think anyone worth listening to does. If it does come to that point, you're not going to see actual battles or even anything resembling organized warfare. You're going to see Watts all over this country, only worse and more persistent. Assuming we don't get squashed flat in that scenario, we'd wind up leaving America in a state more like 2006 Iraq or modern-day Somalia than anything we'd recognize or want to call home.

Then you'd better be freaking STRIDENT about getting rid of, or controlling, people like RevolutionaryTendencies. If you do not control them, they WILL take control.

I'm a college freshman behind a computer screen in Cambridge. When I see this crap on here I call it out and if I were to see wackos with weapons breaking things or hitting people I'll have safety and the cops on their asses without a second thought. We seriously need to cut them out of the movement; we may be inclusive but you should have to be at least moderately sane to join.

Kalle Lasn the great manipulator will work that out for you. You just sit tight and wait for it to subliminally invade your brain like a commercial.

Question-

If 1% of the citizens of this country had the power/cunning/influence etc. to (as you appear to believe) "destroy" the current constitution of our Republic, just exactly how do you propose to keep them from doing the exact same thing to your "new" Democratic constitution?

Go ahead liberal. Get violent. We will put you back in your place quickly.

I like modern system. If you and your gang of malcontents want to rise up and change America, go ahead but the real 99.9% won't stand for it

What if I believe that violence is unmoral (immoral)?? Does that enter into you plan at all or am I blocking your "new track" and can easily be disposed of???
