Forum Post: How do we get back to our posts and comments?

How do we get back to our posts and comments? HELLO!!!

On CL we have an account with all our posts and comments listed.

Am I wrong?

It seems like I post and comment/reply stuff and then it's gone.

If I don't get a reply, I can't find it.

If it gets like Letters To The Editor, where your contributions go into the abyss, then I'm done.

this is a major issue with the forum, and it is rather irritating.

you can search for your posts in the search bar of the forum page, top right, and you can search them from google.

You used to be able to search them from another site, but that has since stopped for some reason.

Thanx for an intelligible response.

I was getting all these reactionary responses and it was pissing me off, big time.

I am here to help. What can I say?

I see shit, I call shit. Somebody else needs to correct it. I don't need shit from our side.

The forum is not "irritating," it needs repair.

Input will cease if it isn't fixed.

I won't comment... unless hitgirl hits me. No.

Did you get the links to your posts yet? I did. Let me know.

[+] -5 points by JIFFYSQUID92 (-994) from Portland, OR 12 years ago

Do I have an account where I can find them? I appreciate your concern but where? Getting pissed off. I'm getting idiots!

I hope you found them, but here they are:

First you must refresh the forum page by hitting the red "Forum" button.

Then, notice that another toolbar appears under the main toolbar. All the way over to the right under the Facebook and Twitter icons is a small light grey search box. In that search box type user:JIFFYSQUID92 and hit enter.

You are much too beautiful to sort this disaster out for just me! My point is we can't get to our "Conversations"!!!

We reply and respond and our conversation is lost. We need our dialogue. We need our correspondence. Saving this can help us, like a photo, video, the words are paramount!!

Let me help!

[-] 0 points by beautifulworld (23772) 12 years ago

No. The conversations are there. Click on the forum post links that are brought up through searching user:JIFFYSQUID92

Now, if you were conversing with someone whose comments were collapsed then the whole conversation is collapsed underneath it. You would need to uncollapse it by clicking on the minus - button to the left.

Good luck.

Good question.

[+] -6 points by JIFFYSQUID92 (-994) from Portland, OR 12 years ago

I feel like I missed the intro.

I've looked. There does not seem to be a way to find your stuff and who you've contacted.

I want to go back to conversations and communications!!!

Am I missing the BUTTON??

HELLO????

EASILY??? WHAT Search bar??

OK so if I find and do all that, (which I have no idea what you are talking about) I can only find my old posts, that would be good.

But I can never find my replies and conversations????

Why do we have that on CL and not here??????

[-] 1 points by RebelRebel (25) 12 years ago

Then use CL? The feature you request is just not here.

[-] -2 points by JIFFYSQUID92 (-994) from Portland, OR 12 years ago

"j u s t n ot h er e." WHY THE FUCK NOT!!!!

We put in our stuff, and it's lost???? BULL SHITT!!!

[-] 1 points by RebelRebel (25) 12 years ago

Then drop the board. Nobody is forcing up to stay. Seriously you just threw a virtual tantrum.

[-] -2 points by JIFFYSQUID92 (-994) from Portland, OR 12 years ago

Yeah. saw that, did that, and nothing. OK, sweet sensitive souls, the "search bar" doesn't find my posts and replies. In other words, it doesn't FUCKING WORK!!! Is there a "code" we should have known about? oh sorry. Would it be OK if others (those weirdos who just write shit and words to each other) could find out about the code and find the posts and replies we post? (sorry for the (?)) Could we please? Asperger's is a terrible affliction. But life goes on and we have to live it so spill the beans!

[-] 1 points by BradB (2693) from Washington, DC 12 years ago

for search bar .... type in..... user:JIFFYSQUID92 <---- exactly like that

https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Awww.http://occupywallst.org/forum/+JIFFYSQUID92

[-] -2 points by JIFFYSQUID92 (-994) from Portland, OR 12 years ago

Thank you: OK ~ Weird. Like in a jar of alcohol, weird. Suspended nicely out of context and useless. This is not workable!!! Context needed.

[-] 1 points by BradB (2693) from Washington, DC 12 years ago

???.... after you get the list ... click on the links ...you will get your content

[-] -2 points by JIFFYSQUID92 (-994) from Portland, OR 12 years ago

USER: JIFFYSQUID92 or just (JIFFYSQUID92)? Look I'm not stupid or new (new to this, yes). I got to my posts but nothing else.

[-] 1 points by BradB (2693) from Washington, DC 12 years ago

beautifulworld answer's that next post...

you can also try this:

http://occupywallst.org/forum/search/?q=user%3AJIFFYSQUID92

then click on the TITLES of the posts .... then you can scroll down and find your posts

[-] -2 points by JIFFYSQUID92 (-994) from Portland, OR 12 years ago

First, what are these weird posts I seem to be responsible for?

Second, can we get these links out to the rest of the posters? I hate to talk to myself.

[-] 1 points by BradB (2693) from Washington, DC 12 years ago

Jiff... all sites are different ... this one is bare bones... has few features... but that also makes it fast.... and we would rather have fast than automated gadgets .....

you can't mass email or msg here... you can't search for only the posts you authored ... however you can search for the threads that you posted in....

and that's pretty much all

[-] 0 points by beautifulworld (23772) 12 years ago

The word "user" must be lower case. Crazy, but that works.

user:JIFFYSQUID92

[-] -2 points by JIFFYSQUID92 (-994) from Portland, OR 12 years ago

OK just went back 5 times to look for "user" in upper case and then realized who the fuck cares and then realized you were talking about a stupid url. OK. Even if it works. Who else knows about it? No one!! How do we deal with this??

[-] 1 points by beautifulworld (23772) 12 years ago

LOL! I'm lost. I wasn't talking about a url. I was talking about how to type it in the search box.

user:JIFFYSQUID92

Then the list of your posts come up, click on the lists and you'll see your conversations.

[-] -2 points by JIFFYSQUID92 (-994) from Portland, OR 12 years ago

Nice, I did that and got no context. What good is that?

How do the rest get there? NOT JUST ME! everybody!!!!

THE REST OF THE PEOPLE??????

[-] 1 points by BradB (2693) from Washington, DC 12 years ago

click on this link...

http://occupywallst.org/forum/search/?q=user%3AJIFFYSQUID92

do you not get a list of topics ?

[-] 0 points by beautifulworld (23772) 12 years ago

I don't know. I guess we're the blind leading the blind. But, I got your conversations, Jiffy.

[-] -2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

One good way to keep track of your post. Is to copy the link onto your profile page and go there to access if it is not currently up on the board.

[+] -5 points by JIFFYSQUID92 (-994) from Portland, OR 12 years ago

SHOW ME!!

[-] -2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

You would do better to put in your request Here: ( e-mail )

General Inquiries general@occupywallst.org

You will only get frustrated, trying to be heard by the Forum Team "here" on your Post.

[+] -6 points by JIFFYSQUID92 (-994) from Portland, OR 12 years ago

Here is one of my points: I want to mark or save you're reply, but I have no means of doing it. Wen I go to the next reply, I lose this one. I can't even select and move without missing some. I can this, but not the context.

It's utterly weird to copy and paste to another site (WORD) and try to get the fields to cooperate (WHAT THE FUCK)!!??

[-] -2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

I know. It is frustrating. All I can suggest ( because I do like the interaction here ) is to list the weaknesses and any possible fix you may be aware of and send them by e-mail to the site organizer's.

I believe that this site is also a learning experience for the one who created it. So if we can help, we should, and try to be positive as the site matures.

[+] -6 points by JIFFYSQUID92 (-994) from Portland, OR 12 years ago

OK, let's learn, and let's get going. Our giant is back t sleep.

[+] -6 points by JIFFYSQUID92 (-994) from Portland, OR 12 years ago

HELLO!!!??? I'm getting done!!

[+] -6 points by JIFFYSQUID92 (-994) from Portland, OR 12 years ago

I want a list, an account of my entries. I want an account that works for me.

[+] -6 points by JIFFYSQUID92 (-994) from Portland, OR 12 years ago

HELLO!!!!!????

[-] 3 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 12 years ago

superunion stopped working some time ago - right around the time the NYCGA made their statement that this forum was independent and while it may support it was not representative of the Movement

[-] 1 points by BradB (2693) from Washington, DC 12 years ago

yeah.... that was a pretty crazy statement from NYCGA....

this site is more representative of the Movement than theirs is.... even-though I do support them

[-] 1 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 12 years ago

with the kind of diversity one would expect within a movement of this kind, given the widespread nature of the discontent and the way that will naturallyh attract people from all walks of life,

I would say that which is more representative is a matter of perspective.

[-] 1 points by BradB (2693) from Washington, DC 12 years ago

hmmm, good point point ... kind of ..;) this site is more movement oriented... nycga is more (attempted) administrative oriented.... imo

[-] 1 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 12 years ago

well that's kinda what a general assembly turns into

[-] 1 points by BradB (2693) from Washington, DC 12 years ago

yep ;)

[-] 1 points by BradB (2693) from Washington, DC 12 years ago

yeah .. tried last night... but can't remember my twitter pswrd ... I guess I'll have to open new account ... don't really use twitter... yet

[-] 1 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 12 years ago

you could get them to send you a new password - if you can remember the email you used to sign in

[-] 1 points by BradB (2693) from Washington, DC 12 years ago

yeah... lost the sign-in email account... I'll just reregister

[-] 1 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 12 years ago

ah, someone less organized than myself - I did not think it possible . . . .

have fun!
