Our government needs a larger house of representatives. 435 is not enough to give voice to everyone and represent all views. We need to return to he original standard in which the number increased with population. 1 representative per 30,000 people. This will help eliminate the ridiculous gerrymandering of districts to skew elections and more accurately represent various local views. Perhaps the idea of containing all of our government representatives in one building in Washington DC is no longer workable.

Why add more people to congress who will only be influenced by big business donations? I mentioned this in another topic. Why not put a bill to vote by the people if it does not pass in congress?...a national vote that represents 100% percent of the American People.

you realize that advocating for more government would result in a higher deficit? if the current numbers in government screwed up this bad, is adding more politicians really the answer?

How is that the case. I don't see any basis to your argument. There is no historic correlation between the house of representatives numbers and deficits. By increasing the number of representatives, each would have less power to yield and less influence on individual spending projects

more reps = more salaries to be paid to reps, staffs, offices they have. why would you advocate more spending and bickering?

I don't think it would require the same kind of people and staffing. It wouldn't require that everyone be an expert in all matters. Also, I don't think it would increase spending on government programs. Each vote by a representative would be of less value. They would have less power to demand specific spending programs. Additionally, current representatives require huge staffs partly because of the need to represent huge numbers of people.

why so more reps. can be brought out by corporations. We need stronger state governments so the local people have a stronger say in the control the Officials have. Hey the governor's house is a lot closer than the white house or house of representatives or senate. I mean just saying if I have a problem the governor he will hear about it alot faster than the president.

It requires less money for a person representing 30,000 people to campaign than one representing 3,000,000. It would reduce the power of the political parties and money needed to enter politics. It would allow an average person to be a part of the government. The increase in the number of reps would easily be enabled by our present computer technologies.

I support this, but only after we get the money out of politics
