This is what our government can accomplish when they put their minds to it...oh wait...

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/nationnow/2011/11/super-committee-debt-crisis.html

I think this is my favoritest bit:

‎"As for committee members themselves, Sen. Patty Murray, a Democrat from Washington, and Rep. Jeb Hensarling, a Republican from Texas, said in a statement:

'Despite our inability to bridge the committee's significant differences, we end this process united in our belief that the nation's fiscal crisis must be addressed and that we cannot leave it for the next generation to solve.'"

In essence, both democrats and republicans believe this is a serious problem and needs to be address but neither one of us is willing to cross party lines to get the job done. Why are we wasting our tax money on these people?

Dear congress, we have had it. Change is blowing in the wind and you are but leaves on the ground.

The reality of this is it can't be fixed, its too large to be fixed and why should this generation have to pay for all of the previous generations that pushed this problem to ours?

/agree

This economic system is headed for collapse. It is totally unsustainable.

You got that right and at this point there isn't anything that we can do about it. It is past the point of no return and we will just have to adapt to changes as they come in the near future.

What brought Rome down? I think we should look at the past & try not to make the mistakes they made.

Will the changes made now still be good changes 30 years from now?

Gee, maybe it's time OWS does what republicrats are incapable of; getting over themselves. Fill congress with 99r's. Here's how:

I don't think they ever really palnned to do anything. It was all a show. Nobody in Washington wants real change.

Don't care, as long as it means I'll get my free education and free healthcare...

Obama's still the man!

Thank you for the demonstration of individuals being unwilling to cross party lines to come up with solutions. Here's newsflash for you on how I personally feel about this: Democrats AND Republicans are both a bunch of useless gits; this includes Obama, Bush and the reset of the corporate puppets that have lead out country these past decades.

Anywhere in my original post did you see me praise Obama?

"Anywhere in my original post did you see me praise Obama?"

Well you should!

They all want to get re-elected so no one is willing to accept the blame for doing what must be done.
