Fracking could be the most insane thing ever to happen to energy.

Tesla is rolling in his grave.

Hi hchc, Agree. Fracking as done today, is a crime against humanity and a crime against all living things. Best Regards

I do not know what their deal is.

Maybe they like the on-line conflict?

Maybe they appreciate the attackers for removing the mask of the greedy corrupt criminals by their obvious attacks?

All I know is that a lot of good people are getting frustrated.

Hi bensdad,

Yes, the shower would work.

Dick/Halliburton has caused more damage. Got frackers exempt from Clean Drinking Water Act, Halliburton contract that electrocuted Marines, Halliburton got New Orleans remediation contract and imported MS13 to work, Halliburton involvement in Deep Water Horizion, secret Halliburton/FEMA internment camps for God knows what reason, and shot friend in face with shotgun.

Let’s not let Exxon and Halliburton have the last word on fracking.

Dear Dan,Tell Exxon to Deal in Facts on Fracking

As pollution from fracking mounts, the oil and gas industry has unleashed millions of dollars in a public relations effort to convince people that it is safe. They are so confident that Rex Tillerson, CEO of Exxon-Mobil, recently challenged critics of fracking to “deal in facts." “I mean, prove it," he taunted.1

Help us counter Exxon with the facts on fracking.

http://www.webaction.org/site/R?i=7zr1vZagk8fyqO8IWHdnVg

We know that fracking is polluting our water and threatening our health.2 A few weeks ago, I wrote about Pam Judy – a Pennsylvania woman whose family got sick because of nearby gas drilling operations. She is hardly alone. Other families have had their drinking water contaminated – either by methane or toxics from fracking. But now we need to make sure that the people who live on the frontlines of fracking can tell the world what is really happening.

It’s time to get the fracking truth out on the table.

http://www.webaction.org/site/R?i=O1id_yxxG_nWSW6gXXQITg

We need to act quickly, before industry lobbyists succeed in their efforts to expand fracking to new places – from New York to Maryland to North Carolina. So here is our plan. Wherever the oil and gas industry goes, we will be there so that people living with fracking pollution can tell their stories – to state legislators, to the national media and to Congress. But I need your help to make this happen.

Let’s not let Exxon and Halliburton have the last word on fracking. Please support our new effort to expose the damage fracking is doing today.

http://www.webaction.org/site/R?i=pCqHbT9wuXgruXRDoKZeeA

Thanks again for making all our work possible.

Margie Alt Executive Director

P.S. - if just one thousand of our supporters contribute $35 this week, we will have the resources to bring people living with fracking pollution to key state capitols and Washington, DC, to counter the industry’s pro-fracking propaganda.

  2. Our Pennsylvania affiliate (PennEnvironment) has documented numerous examples of fracking pollution in a report entitled In the Shadow of the Marcellus Boom, available at http://www.pennenvironment.org/reports/pae/shadow-marcellus-boom

Thanks Nevada1 - Signed, twittered, facebook.

These issues need wide circulation. Why would we want to allow the endangerment and possible destruction/poisoning of our environment for no good reason - profit is not a good reason - perhaps a dire need for domestic use as in heating of homes in winter time - but that's not valid either as there are alternatives - So to do this for purely private profit is hideous.

Imagine yourself two years in the future. New York has approved fracking. You didn't lease your land to the frackers (you know better), but maybe your neighbor did. Returning home from work, you see black smoke on the horizon -- from your neighborhood.

It's a scary thought, but it's possible if we don't ban fracking in New York State. So let your neighbor know about the perils of the process, and have everyone you know sign the petition and call for a ban today!

Help us spread the word. Here's how:

Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+

Or just send your friends an email.

Cut and paste this message into a new email:

SUBJECT LINE: They say this is safe?

Dear friends,

This week, more than fifty homes were evacuated because of a blowout at a gas well in Wyoming.

The chief state regulator said, "I'm hoping this thing doesn't catch on fire because they have a good chance of salvaging the rig and the well bore." The homes? Not important.

This blowout comes just weeks after a gas compressor station in Pennsylvania exploded. These incidents aren't flukes. They're part of the constant risk of drilling for oil and gas.

There's no safe way to frack our countryside. We need to keep fracking out of New York. Sign our petition and tell Governor Cuomo to ban fracking now!

I'm proud to be working with the residents of New York who are entrenched in what the New York Times is calling "a movement that has become one of the most powerful environmental and citizens campaigns in state history."

The people of New York are in the fight of their lives to protect their water, their health and their communities from the dangers of fracking, but they can't do it alone.

Will you join them in the fight?

http://salsa.democracyinaction.org/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=oUWeGmzuwu0N33sVwU2rOpPb5wC6rRo8

Because a large part of New York sits on top of a supply of natural gas, the fossil fuel industry is hell-bent on fracking in the state. Governor Cuomo could lift the current moratorium and allow fracking any day now. But New Yorkers have seen the destruction that their neighbors in Pennsylvania are facing and they've seen that regulations don't work. The only way to prevent a toxic legacy is to push nationally to Ban Fracking Now.

http://salsa.democracyinaction.org/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=rdJq1pKSx62/okAhKydpqJPb5wC6rRo8

We can't live without clean, safe water, and this is powerful motivation for the people in New York who are on the front lines of the fight against fracking. We're helping lead this fight to protect our drinking water along with a statewide coalition called New Yorkers Against Fracking, which comprises about 110 groups and organizations who are pushing to Ban Fracking Now. But even if we are successful in New York, there are many other states that are also threatened by fracking, which is why we need a federal ban.

Will you join the good people of New York and urge your federal legislators to Ban Fracking Now?

http://salsa.democracyinaction.org/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=4Sx6WCcMXa5N3yCW9LhNRpPb5wC6rRo8

Every day there is more and more evidence of the dangers of fracking. And the movement is growing around the world, too. France, Germany and Bulgaria have come out against fracking. Vermont recently became the first U.S. state to ban the dirty practice. Billionaire oil tycoon T. Boone Pickens has even announced that he has gotten out of natural gas stocks due to cheap prices. Essentially, there is no profit in gas fracking, and, in his words, "natural gas has been a disaster."

No place is safe from fracking. We need a national ban today.

http://salsa.democracyinaction.org/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=acp6503XxQ5kSWRwTCsQ5ZPb5wC6rRo8

Email your legislators asking them to introduce legislation for a national ban on fracking:

http://action.foodandwaterwatch.org/p/dia/action/public/?action_KEY=10568

Thanks for taking action,

Meredith Begin Education & Outreach Organizer Food & Water Watch mbegin(at)fwwatch(dot)org

P.S. This is part of a series of stories from communities that we're working with around the country who are standing up and fighting back against the multi-million dollar fracking industry. If you missed last week's story about Ohio's earthquakes, you can check it out here.

Victory: First Natural Gas Export Terminal Denied!

http://action.sierraclub.org/site/R?i=lbyf5alLpU87vP-PoUvjeg

Dear Dan, Victory: First Natural Gas Export Terminal Denied! Take Action!

Take Action!

Victory! We were able to deny the first proposed natural gas export terminal in Cove Point, MD!

In the past two months, over 40,000 activists like you have told President Obama that liquified natural gas (LNG) terminals are a dangerous idea. With your letters and our first victory, we have the momentum to stop many more proposed facilities across the country. We need to keep the pressure on the President's environmental advisors in the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) to call for natural gas companies to come clean about the public health and environmental dangers of exporting LNG.

Tell CEQ Chair Nancy Sutley that exporting dirty LNG that we need the full truth on LNG's threats to our public health and environment.

http://action.sierraclub.org/site/R?i=eBTyFdiggkF3BRxc26NpTQ

Exporting LNG means more fracking, polluted drinking water and air, pipelines cutting across our land to coastal export facilities, and higher natural gas bills.

It is no surprise that companies expect to export LNG without disclosing the real environmental harm. In fact, these companies lobby against any federal study of the environmental damage they would cause. Sierra Club said no to the Cove Point facility because it would threaten the Maryland coast and continue the disastrous effects of the fracking boom on communities in states like Pennsylvania

Send Nancy Sutley a message – Americans deserve to know the real threats from exporting liquefied natural gas to our air, water and health.

Thanks for all that you do,

Deb Nardone Director, Natural Gas Reform Campaign Sierra Club

P.S. Please share this victory with your friends and family!

[+] -13 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

That is all it would really take. If those responsible ( frackers ) can't really call them responsible cus they're not ( they do the damage but are not accountable/responsible ) in their view. They should have to live strictly off of the water and produce from those lands affected by their operations.

Think they might be a little more careful ? I mean they would be personally invested in running a clean operation if they and their families were living off of the results.

Right?
