Vote Obama 2012 and let's make the entire country like California! YAY!

I especially love this quote full of jumbled analogies and bad grammar.

"If any municipality declares bankruptcy, whether it's Stockton or anyone else, what really doing is sealing their own economic death warrant, because it makes it that much harder to dig out of an economic hole,"

Apologies for being too hasty and not recognizing sarcasm! However, there are many here that believe in voting democrat. So that last comment is to them!

You would vote for George Bush if he ran as the democrat in the general election too I suppose. Obama's track record -- voted for the patriot act (despite talking tough), voted for NDAA with kidnapping provisions, continued Bushs wars and extended the one in Afghanistan. Initiated drone strikes. Sold out on healthcare reform (don't even talk about compromise, he took single payer off the table from the start. He was bought out). Turned his back on whistleblowers like Bradley Manning, allowing for his torture and imprisonment while the murderers get off easy. If it wasn't for Manning we would still be in Iraq (we were forced out because of the leaked tape). Keystone pipeline anyone?? Hope and change we can believe in? Corporate puppet. We can't succeed with the politics of fear. History proves that irrefutably.

I didn't vote for GWB in the first place. Democrat or Republican I'd still not vote for him. Single payer? THAT WONT WORK AND IT'LL BANKRUPT THE COUNTRY. Are you kidding? Where would all the money come from to pay for that? Tax the rich? LOLOLOLfuckingLOLOLOL The rich make about 200 billion dollars a year. That's what the Government makes in 1 month. Single payer? We can't afford the shit we have already let alone everyone being able to use free healthcare on a whim.

Bradley Manning leaked classified documents. That's an offense punishable by death. And that's what he should get.

Ya lets ditch the pipeline and pave the entire fucking country in solar panels. Then we'd only have to buy 1/2 of our gas from Canada, Brazil, and the Saudis.

Politics of fear is a funny line considering last August Oblahblah said that SSI checks wouldn't go out unless they raised the debt ceiling. Harry Reid said that the entire system would grind to a halt. Politics of fear my ass.

Fear of less spending more like it.

Bankrupt the country? We spend almost as much on military defense as all the countries in the world combined (some argue more), while also occupying 140 countries with some 400 military bases. Add to that all the resources we're throwing at Afghanistan and the drone strikes. You're seriously going to sit there and try to claim single payer healthcare would BANKRUPT the country? Well, I suppose the Canadian government is just rolling in dough, huh? Slash the military budget in half and end the military imperialism and we not only could afford single payer healthcare, but we could offer tuition free higher education as well, which would likely pay for itself in the added contributions to GDP.

And you also feel Bradley Manning should be put to death? I suppose there's no such thing as justice when our government is guilty, huh? Manning swore in his Oath of Enlistment to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic." I suppose we should edit out the "domestic" part.

Don't even get me started on the energy issue. If you honestly think we need that pipeline you're deluded.

I agree that we could do with a lot less military spending, especially if we were allowed to fight the war to win instead of making nice nice and trying to make money off of it. And do you honestly think that the government who can't even do medicare and medicaide right would actually do a good job with umbrella free healthcare? It would be a nightmare.

I also agree with the free college, but that's what the GI Bill is for. Do some time actually serving someone else or your country and you get rewarded. Most people who cry for free college haven't done a damned thing to earn it. Also, not everyone needs to go to college. Can you imagine how class would be if every retard off the street was in your psychology class asking questions? Nope, I'd rather pay for my schooling thank you very much.

Don't know how insurance works, huh? Consider that Medicare spends 97% on medical care. The profit insurance companies are currently at 80% by the health care law. They lobbied their asses off to get it down to 80% and are currently whining their asses off about it. There have already been rebates to policy holders when they go over that. Single payer would eliminate all that overhead. So we would pay 17% less at least. Rates are set to cover losses. Did you happen to notice the the government is much more efficient that private enterprise?

Oh, and you get the ultimate risk pool. Everybody. Single payer is a no brainer.

LOL Government is more efficient than enterprise? You're either smoking crack or your parents were brother and sister.

Private businesses need to make a PROFIT to stay in business and to expand. Government steals every dime it gets, and it squanders it on public education which happens to produce kids that rank in the bottom percentile in almost EVERY category, along with several other departments that perform WAY below their private counterparts.

Private business needs to work on a budget. Private businesses need to make their quotas, and meet their bottom line, otherwise they're out of business.

How much in business loans does the Government owe? Oh that's right, 16.2 Trillion dollars and they STILL want to spend money on 99 weeks of unemployment and food stamps for 47 Million people.

Ya, government is waaay more efficient.

This country is turning into a bunch of lazy pieces of shit. And you know what happens when more people are in the cart than are pushing the cart? The cart stops, which is exactly what is happening to our economy. Letting the government raise the debt ceiling endlessly expecting them to all of a sudden get their act together and spend us out of this hole is like giving an alcoholic cheap booze thinking that they're going to drink themselves sober.

97% vs 80%. They wanted in on the Medicare business. Thought they could do better than the government. But they were wrong. So they asked for welfare checks from your tax money so they could make a profit. And they got it. Called Medicare Advantage.

That is where the mythical $500,000,000 Medicare cuts come from. They stopped the corporate welfare. How many times have we heard about this? So are the Republicans ignorant or are they lying?

Businesses also cut corners to lower costs and maximize profits. That includes providing the lowest quality care for the maximum price while remaining competitive (until they can acquire a monopoly). If they provided the highest quality care for the lowest possible price they wouldn't be in business long. It also requires cyclical consumption. What do you think that does to a healthcare system? It makes prolonged treatment preferable to quicker, cheaper (for the consumer) solutions. Conflicts of interest. These conflicts of interest are why modern health insurance companies will seek any reason to drop you from coverage if they feel you aren't a good investment for them. It's a natural byproduct of the business process.

[-] 0 points by JonFromSLC (-107) from West Valley City, UT 11 years ago

If you're in business and you don't try to cut corners and maximize your profits then you're trying to go out of business. Try opening a business and not making a profit. See how long you're around.

[-] 1 points by WageSlave (117) 11 years ago

Exactly. Which is why it is dangerous and inefficient to privatize healthcare, and why regulation is a necessity (even Adam Smith noted that!).

absolutely, Government is more efficient than enterprise

government serves the people

while private companies serve a disassociated share holder

[-] 0 points by JonFromSLC (-107) from West Valley City, UT 11 years ago

you're a dolt man.

Government steals from people to pay other people. What do the people who get paid do to get it? Nothing. And what do the people who actually pay get? 40-50 hours a week working.

Government doesn't serve anyone but special interests. Which is funny because the news media has broken down the entire country into special interests where everyone is more needy and everyone is more divided.

Not all private companies have share holders twit. And while I'm on shareholders, do you know where 90% of retirement funds have money? In business holdings. Don't like business? Don't retire.

Let's vote for neither, and create a new constitution for new times, as follows:

We the peoples, in order to secure Freedom and Justice for All, do enact this Constitution for Strategic International Systems LLC (or SIS LLC) as summarized in the following Business Operations Forecast:

The customer value mission of SIS LLC is (1) to organize all customer-investors into 3,000 investment squad sites of 16 friends (or virtual specialties), and related internet investment legislatures of 50,000 friends (or virtual towns), requiring (2) a $20 weekly capital contribution for 1 year (or $1,000) to (3) create your investment club bank of 50,000 friends (or physical town) -- that is, having $50 million in initial assets -- which (4) due to the operation of today’s fractional banking system becomes (5) $500 million in new annual business loans (or $10,000 in new annual individual loans, plus $10,000 more credit every year thereafter) from yourself as a new bank officer to yourself as a new business officer who (6) takes 75% employee business control as business officer-investors and 25% customer business control as bank officer-investors of (7) your specific 12 businesses (or investments) in your new bank investment account wherein (8) your investor voting power equals (9) your 1 of 12 levels of experience in (10) your 1 of 12 sectors in 1 of 50 industries in 1 of 200 occupations in 1 of 3,000 specialities which (11) votes-upon your purchasing (or investment) orders as (12) proposed by your employee-elected chain of command.

This means you will have 75% employee business control over your workplace as business officers and, as bank officers, 25% customer business control over all 12 investments (or businesses) in your new bank investment account. In turn, with this 100% town-level business control of your 3,000 workplaces, you can decrease your 12 customer consumption expenses by 75% for services, vehicles, education, retail, food, construction, technology, manufacturing, wholesale, health, justice, and banking expenses; that is, over your first 12 years of SIS LLC membership using a 75% more effective and efficient town design, and related 3,000 workplace designs (herein). Furthermore, while creating your new town & workplace design as described by this constitution, you will replace today’s communist big businesses, and related big governments, with your new small investment club banks, and related small businesses (or investments), as proposed, financed, and patronized by your 3,000 investment squad sites of 16 friends (or virtual specialties) in your internet investment legislature of 50,000 friends (or virtual town).

Why? First, because today’s executive business income (mostly from bank or financial asset income) is 33% of all income which is a huge amount of upper 1% income to split among yourselves as new bank officers having 25% customer business control, right? Second, because today’s executive business wealth is 42% of all wealth which is a huge amount of upper 1% wealth to split among yourselves as new business officers having 75% employee business control; that is, only after becoming new bank officers (above) first, right?

For example, this means if you earn $12/hour today, then you will earn $36/hour tomorrow after adding (1) your old wage income, plus (2) your 33% (more and new) interest income as a new bank officer, plus (3) your 42% (more and new) dividend & gain income as a new business officer. Together, these 4 sources of wealth & income from your specific 12 businesses (or investments) will double your net worth every 6-12 years (until retirement); that is, from the compound interest decline of today's upper 1% executives whom you will replace as the new bank & business investor-officers. So, with this power, let’s end today’s communist big businesses, and related big governments, okay? How? By helping to operate your own Business Operations Forecast (above) at http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/StrategicInternationalSystems/ in combination with NextDoor.com; so help us help you, today!
