We have people who are supposedly supportive of people, telling those people they cant take extra shifts, in the name of fairness.

Thats exactly what we have in Congress too. A bunch of fat old bastards telling the entire nation how to live, who they can marry, what they can eat, what they can do in the privacy of their own homes, what they can do with their own bodies, etc.

These people need to go. They are enemies of fairness, they have no clue what they are talking about, they are removed from reality.

Chances are they have never struggled, or they are getting a nice pension and continue to vote for assholes that ship our jobs overseas because hey, they are set, so what the fuck they care about anyone else?

Old, well off arrogant bastards. They are everywhere.

Rules for your body, rules for your food, rules for just about everything.

And now this: You cant work more, because its taking away another job. You cant work harder to provide for your family, because of "fairness".

Well who the fuck is ANYONE to tell ANYONE how much they can work?

These people are fascist Nazis, and they need to go. They are taking over the country, they have already taken over the government.

Now they want control over your entire personal life as well. You can have an abortion up to day X- hey, its not your decision. You cant marry whom you want- hey, its not your decision. You cant smoke XYZ- hey, its not your decision.

And now You can work, but not more than 40 hrs- hey, its not your decision.

These people need to go. Really. We need to get rid of em.

Stinkle - they are not trying to make you work only 40 hours - they are trying to get their workers to work overtime for no pay - no Overtime PAY Understand?

[-] -2 points by OTP (-203) from Tampa, FL 10 years ago

Tell that to the asshole on here that is saying a 12 hr shift is taking away from someone else.

Go ahead, voice an opinion on that one.

"That's what 2 12 hour shifts do. If you work one, you have effectively removed a full time job from the "market".

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 10 years ago

If you have never experienced mandatory overtime because your employer did not want to hire more full time workers - to take on the work load an employer who couldn't hire temps - because of the skill required. And you ended up working 7 days a week for the next year (the government getting more in taxes than you get on your pay check ) going home long enough enough to eat and sleep and then return to work. YOU would more likely understand that position.

Thats sounds like it sucks. And its also not how all of it goes.

So in some cases we have people forced to work, which is unacceptable.

And then in others, we have people not allowing employees to work more, like Walmart, which is also unacceptable.

I dont appreciate people telling me that working more means Im selfish.

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 10 years ago

The point of the matter - IS - A living wage - LIVING WAGE. Where an individual can work 40hrs per week and do well. As in a roof over their head, food on the table, can afford clothing, can afford entertainment, can afford Health insurance, can afford transportation, can afford to take a "real" vacation every year (not time off from working just to sit at home), be able to afford hobbies like motor cycle riding or customizing your car or a 2nd car etc etc etc- ALL THIS - AND BE ABLE TO PUT MONEY INTO SAVINGS.

[-] 0 points by eterna (-93) from Montauk, NY 10 years ago

he ws convicted of 3 counts of first degree murder, if he didnt do it for the money , ( he made about 1.8 mil a year and paid his staff minimum wage) why did he murder children born alive?

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 10 years ago

I don't know - Do You???

( he made about 1.8 mil a year and paid his staff minimum wage)

Certainly the guy had plenty of issues.

[-] 0 points by eterna (-93) from Montauk, NY 10 years ago

murdering ( cutting their spinal cords ) live born babies is more than an " issue".

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 10 years ago

Yes it is. Were U there? Whats your prognosis Dr. ?

[-] -1 points by eterna (-93) from Montauk, NY 10 years ago

no, i wasnt there but the people who were, his staff , testified that he did this. the verdict was brought in today. guilty on 3 counts of first degree murder. why no interest in this? is it perhaps that it doesnt show abortion in a positive way?

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 10 years ago

Do you get a thrill out of real life horror stories???

I do not.

[-] 0 points by eterna (-93) from Montauk, NY 10 years ago

no, i get a feeling of satisfaction because this person was murdering babies for years and finally got caught and convicted

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 10 years ago

Maybe Zimmerman will be the next conviction - Hey?

How GR8 would that be?

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 10 years ago

As it should be - a murderer caught and convicted - never to see the light of day again as a free man? Don't count on it.

Now why don't ya go after the mass murderers of Business? There are millions of deaths/murders there.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 10 years ago

utsa matta mass murderers of millions don't rate your ire?

"Now why don't ya go after the mass murderers of Business? There are millions of deaths/murders there."

no response to my post of what he made ( and what he was convicted of )and how much he paid his staff?

[-] -1 points by OTP (-203) from Tampa, FL 10 years ago

If you want a living wage then you need to address the Fed, LIBOR and QE. If the people dont control their own money, they are getting screwed by the ones who do. Its why wages are stagnant yet prices keep going up.

I support getting our money under control.

Why do you think that there is a call to defeat this legislation - it is Federal

Excerpt: from http://inthesetimes.com/article/14957/gop_forcibly_making_working_families_flexible

The GOP has an app for that. It’s called the Working Families Flexibility Act. This legislation that the Republican majority in the U.S. House is expected to pass this week would force some old-time flexibility into 21st-century workers. The forced flexibility act would award bosses the power to “offer” compensatory time off instead of overtime pay. Bosses, not workers, would determine when the comp time could be taken. The proposal puts control in corporate hands, obliging wage earners to bend over backward for bosses exactly like their Gumby ancestors were compelled to.

Are you for real?

[-] 0 points by OTP (-203) from Tampa, FL 10 years ago

Is Walmart for real?

[-] 3 points by GirlFriday (17435) 10 years ago

Listen up-not paying overtime is a shit game. For once, stand with the people and not the corporations. It will make you feel good. Stop fucking the people.

Right-ON GF

So you agree that a worker taking extra shifts- low wage workers- is STEALING from others?

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 10 years ago

No - I do believe that overtime is used to keep payroll at a minimum - this has nothing to do with the employee being made to work overtime - it is about Employer Greed.

[-] 0 points by OTP (-203) from Tampa, FL 10 years ago

OK.

[-] -1 points by OTP (-203) from Tampa, FL 10 years ago

No one said not paying WASNT a shit game. Im saying that this ornery old bastard on here telling people that if they take extra shifts they are stealing work from others is a jack ass.

[-] 2 points by GirlFriday (17435) 10 years ago

It's probably the same douche that posted the underemployment shpeil.

[-] 2 points by Oligarchophobe (21) 10 years ago

Yes almost every one in the Governments is bought off.

The plan is to bump the Campaign bribed law makers from office

It has been done by a few not well known people, successfully

How. Via the primaries. The run a clean guy against an incumbant.

The bumpers provide labor a little money and knowledge of the congressional district.

Find a few good people ,perhaps returning vets, who are good at organizing groups of people to seek out new candidates, more volunteers and who can plan and create action.

If the candidates get into office but turns into a bribe taker then bump him

Many districts are neglected and easy to occupy.

The public in such districts is not interested in politics so there will be little push back from the pros.

Do not scare the voters with radical jargon. They will only fear you and give O'Reilly ammunition for his propaganda of fear.

No grand plans. Just remove the corrupt politician and replace him with a possibly honest politician of the same party.

In Democrat districts replace corrupt Democrats with Honest Democrats. In Republican districts replace corrupt Republicans with hones Republicans.

Why do it this way? Nudge Nudge Nudge

[-] -1 points by OTP (-203) from Tampa, FL 10 years ago

We have people who have benefited from organizing, who now do NOTHING in terms of workers, and who are GETTING PAID for their retirement by the community, telling people that if they work too much its not fair.

They get your money, and they tell YOU that you have too much.

These people need to go.

Whose paying your SS? Whose paying your disability? Whose paying your medicaid/medicare? Whose paying your food stamps?

And then you are going to turn around and tell US that we are working too much, and NO you cannot take extra shifts because its NOT FAIR.

Why are these people allowed to exist?

[-] -1 points by OTP (-203) from Tampa, FL 10 years ago

Who doesnt know someone in the restaurant business who isnt struggling right now?

These people say that you can no longer work more than 40 hrs. These same people then elect fascists to make your rules.

Its corruption at its finest.

And its spreading.

The internet is the last place to find real truth, and thats why they flood it like they do.

[-] -2 points by Stormcrow2 (-184) 10 years ago

Hey you need to place blame where it needs to be placed - on todays society.

It's the vast majority of people in this country who wants to be taken care of by the government.

NY is a fine example of that - people want to be led and told what they can/cannot do because they like it like that. They have no "leadership skills" to take charge and control their destiny but instead want the government to do it for them.

They get what they deserve -

"" I'm not running for anything, but if Murdock wants to give me some cash, I'll take it.""

People who think like this need to go.
