Google Transparency Report: Observations on Content Removal Requests USA

Google Transparency Report - Observations on User Data Requests USA

I just thought it was interesting to note that the number of content removal requests that google received in 2011 has increased by 70% compared to the previous reporting period. I guess all the attention that people have been trying to give SOPA PIPA & ACTA, has made Googles Transparency Page a little more interesting to read to me.

Overall, not much transparency, in my opinion, to be found there. There could be so much more. But worth noting I suppose.

They say that the increase isn’t surprising, since each year they are offering more products & services, combined with larger number of users, so, its hard to tell how out of the ordinary those numbers really are.

But if you are one who looks for those statistics, you can see China, Cook Islands, France, Germany, India, Libya, Norway, Poland, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom and more Here: http://www.google.com/transparencyreport/governmentrequests/
