Forum Post: Good work OWS ! ... Spread the word, this needs to go viral !

One source of the People's power is at the ballot box, and that power has been taken by the moneyed special interests (See http://occupywallst.org/forum/we-the-people-in-order-to-a-proposal/ )

ANOTHER source of the People's power is at the check-out register where we "vote" for businesses by purchasing their products. As members of the largest consumer market in the world, we have enormous power to change the face of Corporate Power, but we have been voting for those that hurt us ! (See http://occupywallst.org/forum/the-power-of-the-people/ )

I have compiled the list of shopping guidelines we developed in these forums and hosted them at http://bit.ly/DoYourBit where they are widely accessible and sharable via social media. Please read the guidelines and, if you agree, spread the http://bit.ly/DoYourBit link far and wide using e-mail, twitter, facebook, etc. We need a LOT of people on board if we are to have any impact !

Note there are no ads at http://bit.ly/DoYourBit , and I receive no benefit from this other than the satisfaction of helping America help herself.

Don't worry. We will do more. Forget the ballot box. We don't need politicians or leaders. Consider Simon Wiesenthal. He was one man, a determined man.

We have thousands of these determined men and women, children too, all with one goal - to document and track down every single one of these Banking rogues and tyrants, and Wall Street criminals who made our lives hell. We will get these felons for sure, and make sure they are chucked in prison. They have nowhere to hide. Nowhere! Simon Wiesenthal had a center in Vienna, the Jewish Documentation Center. We have Occupy Centers in every big city in the world.

Felons, scoundrels and criminal gangsters - you worked in banks and laughed at us, the 99%. We are on your case, and we are coming for you - that's a promise.

100% agreed. We MUST show the "job creators" that we the people are the wealth creators. Without our labor there is no wealth to be made, no corporations to be run and no shares to be traded. We must make these multinational corps see that we indeed are the backbone of their financial machines. The same can be said about our elected officials. By winning a few key seats in congress and the senate we would give ourselves an avenue to real systematic change. Imagine a handful of elected officials truly representing us in DC. People who know WE put them there and WE have no qualms about revoking the power we gave them. What troubles me is all this talk of running a 3rd party candidate for POTUS. That is a battle the we presently can't win. If we were talking about a symbolic candidate we could use to get our voices on a national stage I would say yes but any serious chance of winning that election is years off. We should... no we MUST start this at the local and congressional level. Congress and local legislators have a greater effect on us then the president and we need to do what is most effective. There is no time to waste trying to take the castle when we haven't even entered the city. Any sound strategist would tell you a war is won one battle at a time and until we have a OWS footprint in DC we are in no position to win that war.

I agree 100%, and I'm happy we have sensible people on-board to help make us successful.

Thank you and ALL who are spreading the word. I monitor the hit count on the shopping guidelines page and I am starting to see a good number of Facebook and Twitter shares. We need to keep 'seeding' if we are to go 'viral' and have aa significanat impact.

Nah. Too weak. The banking criminals will just go and steal your monet wherever it is. The are like chameleons. They will reinvent themselves and buy up the places where you spend your money. There is only one thing they understand - jail! Put them all in it.

Business seeks profit wherever they can find it. If we make it profitable for them to employ American workers, pay a fair wage, etc, they will go there. They're quire predicable that way.

If you read the guidelines i hosted at http://bit.ly/DoYourBit , you'll notice that I specifically suggest people NOT use plastic of any kind while shopping to deny the bankers their "cut" of shopping revenues. Remember, banks get rich because we borrow from them and pass every shopping transaction through their debit/credit cards. We need to stop doing that.

I am, by the way, all FOR improved regulations, getting the money out of politics, etc. I'm just saying folks ALSO need to become more conscious of how their purchasing decisions affect the decisions of our businesses. If folks refuse to buy products made by slave labor overseas, then using that labor won't be very 'profitable,' will it ?
