The story of Joseph is told in the final [37-50] chapters of Genesis. It describes the fundamental paradigm shift that prescribes human culture of the past 4000 years. Donald Trump and the rest of the ruling elite parasites that control our economy, government and lives (and threaten the survival of the human race) from their headquarters on Wall St. can trace their spiritual ancestry to the strategy and tactics of debt slavery introduced by Joseph in Egypt about 4 millennia ago. The rest of the bible includes instances of prophets, leaders and laws that attempted to mitigate or eliminate the evil that was invented by the favored son of Jacob/Israel.

Don't take my word for it. Read for yourself how Joseph married economic and state powers to collect 20% of the national product, during boom times. Then he used the grain he'd taxed to buy the property, land and finally selves of those he'd robbed as the price of staving off starvation in the inevitable bust that followed. Once he'd taken all the land and wealth in Egypt, he put the former owners to work on the land they used to own and continued to take the 5th part of all they produced. Sounds like Pinochet in Chile or any of the speculators, giant hedge funds or banks on Wall St. today.

In the beginning we were hunter gatherers. Then we were pastoral herdsmen. Then we developed agriculture. At the end of Genesis Joseph had invented debt slavery, imposed it during a crisis, and we succumbed - apparently until the end: human extinction.

Human extinction is actually Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. Many species have already gone extinct and in our Anthropocene the rate of extinction will distinguish this juncture. We are just one of many species so our becoming extinct will probably end the Anthropocene and liberate the survivors.

If a Y chromosome had evolved from an X chromosome with some parts chopped off, perhaps the human sexes actually started with failed asexual reproduction. God got very bored with the idea of making more copies of Adam with dust so He cleaved him to make Eve and commanded, "From now on, just like the other animals, fruck it all!"

All men Still bear this wound of Adam's in most of their somatic cells and about half of their gametes that have the Y chromosome which is now very much capable of auto-fellatio gene exchanges due to its relatively high proportion of palindromic nucleic acid sequences. The Y chromosome shall lead us to our Destiny, faster.

At this point in time - human extinction would be the healthiest thing to ever happen to this planet.

Well depending on how that extinction happened.

The Destiny of all life is death, the big O-mega("I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." - Rev. 1:8; if God is a person and not just the reversed image of the Alpha male of a doG pack, Time must obviously be irrelevant and arbitrary so death must be an illusion arising from the arbitrary parametrization of events, since death is birth if viewed with the reversed parametrization; the Destiny of death is all life via this philosophically reversed parametrization of Time - the James Bond's "I'm on top of the situation -- with the two rules of Japan" for the royal Big Bang[太初以前的皇家大爆炸] "after" the big O-MeGa)

Of course, the Bible promises a final frucking in the Second Coming(this might have been written by a sex-starved married scribe after having experienced an exponential decay of sex life beyond the initial marital consummation) in which the bride will be joined to the bridegroom. O-mega. Om...

No, I was wrong, Joseph claimed the will of god not his personal acumen, for enslaving the farmers of Egypt 4000 years ago.

I don't know if anyone called Joseph, an ancient commodities broker, on his larceny and enslavement by extortion. If so he probably answered like Trump when Hillary questioned his tax avoidance/evasion behavior, "Because I'm smart!"
