Forum Post: Gas and riot shields. We must be guerilla

Be prepared. We need to be a mobile force. A modern army of nonviolent protest. They will bring tear gas, riot shields, undercovers, and rubber bullets. I'm sure they'll have choppers a waiting too.
We will bring our bodies, spirits, our legs to stand on, our voices to speak with, and our hearts.
America will know the truth. We are legion. We do not forgive, we do not forget.
Our strength will be in our numbers, and our ability to mobilize. We can blend in with the general population. And we will carry our message by standing with signs and sleeping on our homeland, our right as Americans. We are tired of the never ending lies. America needs to find her new path, and we will not rest until we are there.
Get ready to stand, speak, and sleep for months on the streets of NYC. This revolution will not be stopped by riot shields, teargas, or force. We are legion. We demand change. Our force is in our multitude, and our ability to mobilize.

Yeah we are just trying to be peaceful. That is why the picture on the home page of this website shows people with weapons clearly ready to fight.
About 2 years ago the NYPD set this guy named Desean Williams on fire in the Bronx. They claimed he 'accidentally did it to himself' while resisting arrest. The video from the police cruiser somehow got lost so the police got away with it. We need to be prepared for anything they try.
Maybe he shouldn't have resisted. Most normal people stop when the police (or PO-lice as some call them) ask them too.

Absolutely. Crazy Nazis. Because they're all like asking for our papers all the time, then rounding us up and sending us to the gas chambers. Or perhaps...just perhaps they are protecting the streets to keep the scum and filth away from the innocent, considering Chancellor Bloomberg won't allow normal people to protect themselves. He prefers victims. You "people" have such a distorted sense of reality.

Gas masks are simply a way to DEFEND ourselves. '?I bringing mine. And forearm guards to block baton blows. These greedy bastards want nothing less than to see their bought-and-paid-for police for do just that...police us and destroy our morale. I got news for them.

Agreed, though you must bring counters to their violence as well! Bring your own shield, bring your own mask. If this turns into a battle, we need a few good strong people to take on the forces of the capitalist state and to prevent them from destroying our statement
I concur. It'd be good if a lot of us were short too. Our low center of gravity will make us wiley and slippery targets for those rascals. Plus we can slip out of the handcuffs easier. Their chains will not hold me down! Non-Workers of the world UNITE!

typical... the nonviolent are hijacked as human shields for those who intend to be violent "because they started it first" and it all goes downhill from there. Shields and gas masks are implements of war. They have no place at a nonviolent protest... so what type of protest are you planning to attend guerilla? don't ruin it for the rest of us.
