If I get all the money in a Monopoly game, I win. But the game is over. I could continue, I guess, to play, if I loaned the money back to the losers. I could print more monopoly money to “grow” the game economy and assure that I win even more and faster by the interest and fees I charge the other players who borrow it from me. But really, the game is over for them once I have the power of concentrated wealth and they must borrow from me in order to play. The board will never be level again.

"even fourth grade math is sufficient to debunk most common belief/delusions about capitalist dominated economy. "

You mean tax cuts don't really generate more revenue? But surely Laffer was right?

I told my kid that if he reduced his allowance he would have more money but he did not buy it.

Is the Market Free? If the market doesn't allow capitalists [the 1%] to play it can't be said to be free. It has allowed them and now they own it and it can't be said to be free. Is this really a paradox or is it a symptom of cultural schizophrenia? Is there a difference between that sort of mental illness and Orwell's “doublethink?” If not schizophrenic, are we at least paranoid and delusional to believe that free market capitalism is not an oxymoron?

Right on, Kilroy! Inflation is what happens when the banks create money on their ledgers to loan to US at a profit.

Toss in some inflation on that monopoly board, so the next time a player lands on Baltic Avenue, he goes broke because he can't afford the rent this time around. He still gets $200 for passing Go....but it never buys as much.
