If I get all the money in a Monopoly game, I win. But the game is over. I could continue, I guess, to play, if I loaned the money back to the losers. I could print more monopoly money to “grow” the game economy and assure that I win even more and faster by the interest and fees I charge the other players who borrow it from me. But really, the game is over for them once I have the power of concentrated wealth and they must borrow from me in order to play. The board will never be level again.

I have no economy, except what I grow or make with my own hands. To have an economy that supports life, we must work together to create it. If the dominate economic paradigm is to take what others make from them, by having them work for us, the economy must ultimately fail. If we're all rich capitalists, there's no one to do the work.

A conservative notices my monopoly conundrum and asserts that the losers are morally deficient and deserve their poverty. This resonates with the majority of voters, though they and their government are growing deeper in debt to the winners every day. The left responds with a plea for compassion, which the right ridicules. The losers join in with the laughter and so are made to feel as if they won. Though satisfied by the entertainment news the right wing produces in their wholly owned media outlets, the people have no more wealth than before the cons' show.
