Forum Post: Foreclosure Self-Defense Seminar in Tampa, also livestreamed

Jacksonville Area Legal Aid, Inc. in collaboration with Occupy Tampa presents a free foreclosure information teach-in given by Senior Staff Attorney, April Charney. Ms. Charney has been called “the angel of foreclosure defense” for her spirited protection of homeowners and her knowledge of our current financial crisis. She educates other attorneys on how to challenge the system so people can keep their homes. This seminar is designed to help participants become familiar with the foreclosure process and will educate people on what they can do for those currently facing foreclosure.

She intends to train the general public, those families directly affected by foreclosure, and citizen leaders from community groups.

Ms. Charney, along with local attorneys, will give advice sessions to homeowners following the presentation on a pro bono basis.

The free teach-in will take place on Saturday, March 10th from 1:30-4:30PM at the University of South Florida, Marshall Student Center room 2708. Parking is free but seating is limited, therefore pre-registration is required.
