Forum Post: For any who want to do something other than elect the GOP, there is Justice Democrats.

Why “Democrats”? Why not just start a new party?

The two-party paradigm is the model for our country’s current political system. While we agree with and often champion many third-party candidates and movements, the reality is that right now it is next to impossible for a third-party candidate to win a national election.

We want our democracy to work for Americans again as soon as possible. The best way to do this is by working to change the Democratic party from the inside out. Once Justice Democrats take power, we plan to implement electoral reform like ranked choice voting so third parties can have more power in our democracy.

How are you different from these other Democratic groups such as Brand New Congress and Our Revolution?

We are thrilled that so many new organizations have come forward to enact change. Some groups, such as Our Revolution are focusing on local and state elections. Brand New Congress has many of the same principles as us, but are attempting to recruit Congressional candidates to run as Republicans in red districts. Justice Democrats is recruiting and running Democrats all over the country (starting with Congress) and our belief is that strong Democrats with a real message have the best shot of winning anywhere -- even red districts.

Who is running Justice Democrats? Who are the major players?

The current board of Justice Democrats is Cenk Uygur, CEO of The Young Turks, Kyle Kulinski of Secular Talk, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Saikat Chakrabarti.

What is the relationship between Justice Democrats and The Young Turks?

The CEO of The Young Turks, Cenk Uygur is one of the founders of Justice Democrats. The Young Turks Network has been calling for a truly progressive Democratic party for several years. Justice Democrats was founded with a practical mission to rebuild the Democratic party and run corruption-free Democratic congressional campaigns that lead to a progressive and un-bought congress in 2018. Donations given to Justice Democrats are entirely separate from any other funding raised by The Young Turks and will be strictly used toward the Justice Democrats mission.

About the Candidates Who will the candidates be?

All candidates are required to pledge not to take any corporate PAC or corporate lobbyist money. Additionally, they will be progressive candidates who generally agree with the Justice Democrats platform. Please check out the detailed description of who we are looking for at the top of our candidate nomination form. To help us find the right candidates, we need you to submit nominations of candidates in your district!. We've already launched some candidates -- read about them on our candidates page.

What about good candidates already in Congress? Are you going to run against them?

We won’t run against candidates that fully support the Justice Democrats platform, but we also know that challenging incumbents in primaries is the best way to make them start to listen to people over corporate donors.

Most Democrats are like most Republicans. They're about just us not justice.

Very few people in general think the way Bernie Sanders does = We are all in this together and must support one-another and to make this a better more peaceful prosperous healthy country for ALL we must start lifting-up those at the very bottom.

Are you pulling the old "they are good people on both sides" shit?

The GOP must be defeated if any of us are going to have a chance.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33472) from Coon Rapids, MN 4 months ago

You are such a childish idiot!

The point is - there are very few in office that actually care about the general population!

[-] -1 points by factsrfun (8733) from Phoenix, AZ 4 months ago

and every time you help elect another republican, like you did with Donald Trump it gets worse

[-] -2 points by factsrfun (8733) from Phoenix, AZ 4 months ago

and every Green is an ego whore, they care about nothing but themselves, hey have you seen the latest on Jill Stein and the Russians? it seems she was fairly directly involved in the Trump election, not surprising.

[-] 1 points by agkaiser (2049) from Fredericksburg, TX 4 months ago

cut the shit! no one's buying it.

[-] -1 points by factsrfun (8733) from Phoenix, AZ 4 months ago

I ain't selling shit, just telling the the truth.

[-] 2 points by agkaiser (2049) from Fredericksburg, TX 4 months ago

You're obsessed. What truth you tell is obscured by your mania about Greens and Jill Stein. They're a random blip on a screen full of genuine threats. If you'd eliminate them from your comments, you'd get a lot more sympathy for what's good in your thoughts. In other words: grow up and get over it!

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33472) from Coon Rapids, MN 3 months ago

You're obsessed.

And it is SOooooo not a healthy obsession either - sucker's brain froze when Al Gore lost his race.

[-] -1 points by factsrfun (8733) from Phoenix, AZ 3 months ago

Says the man who still talks about the Clintons, the man who wakes every morning with praise for Donald Trump for saving him from that awful Hillary Clinton.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33472) from Coon Rapids, MN 3 months ago

Says the child who 2 this very day is frozen in time - where Al Gore conceded to G.W.Bush rather than fight the Florida results.

[-] -1 points by factsrfun (8733) from Phoenix, AZ 3 months ago

I hope you enjoy your Trump Presidency you worked so hard to make it happen.

100,000 in FL threw their votes in the trash and you wring your hands over 400.

I told shadz already I should tell you too, you will NEVER be allowed to push your Green Party shit on here unopposed.

In your Idol's own words:

https://t.co/ZnoW4hODpZ As noted by Al in this sequal = In order 2 address t environmental crises we r gonna have 2 spend some time fixing t democracy crises!

Note: He is not talking about "just" the republicans - He is talking about government as a whole!

[-] -1 points by factsrfun (8733) from Phoenix, AZ 3 months ago

I know you love your hero's words, "there are good people on both sides"

but really you love Trump the most.

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33472) from Coon Rapids, MN 3 months ago

I c u must b 1 of those who eats shit & barks @ t moon - because that is all u seem 2 do here.

[-] -1 points by factsrfun (8733) from Phoenix, AZ 3 months ago

We all know Trump is your hero, he saved you from Hillary.

[-] 0 points by factsrfun (8733) from Phoenix, AZ 3 weeks ago

and your aiding the election of Republicans wipes out all you say...

Why don't you grow up and vote for someone who can actually keep the GOP from winning?

[-] -1 points by factsrfun (8733) from Phoenix, AZ 3 months ago

Green political hacks have co-opted this forum as evidenced by the coments the Justice democrats post received and other comments, as small and insufficat as the Greens are they are still a fair number here so here it is important to highlight how dangerous they are.

[-] 1 points by agkaiser (2049) from Fredericksburg, TX 3 months ago

You're apparently incapable of learning from your mistakes or even seeing them when they've been made obvious for you. I have nothing more to say to you.

[-] -1 points by factsrfun (8733) from Phoenix, AZ 3 months ago

You never had anything to say, you are just a stupid Green supporter, Green supporters are the stupidest people on Earth.

I can tell by the way you fail to address anything I said in my comment you are not interested in having a discussion you just want to promote the ego whore green party like the other Green political hacks that have co-opted this forum.

[-] 1 points by agkaiser (2049) from Fredericksburg, TX 3 months ago

In your narcissistic delusion you actually believe you say things worthy of response:

"...you fail to address anything I said in my comment..."

[-] -1 points by factsrfun (8733) from Phoenix, AZ 3 months ago

you puke-filled pile of shit, go fuck yourself

e tenebris, lux?

[-] -1 points by factsrfun (8733) from Phoenix, AZ 3 months ago

yeah this is how the Green Party ego whores co-opted the forum, Green Party ego whores are allowed to make personal attacks but people who want to defeat the GOP aren't....

[-] 0 points by ImNotMe (1488) 3 months ago

Good luck with Oprah fkn Winfrey in 2020 because then ... your glib, repetitive li'l needle stuck on your tedious & odious record may actually come to pass:

Pls can U reassure us .. that U do actually know the fact that Dems were initially born as a Third Party? No doubt you'll find some way of blaming Dr. Jill Stein for the looming fiasco of Oprah v Trump in 2020!

caveat ...

[-] -2 points by factsrfun (8733) from Phoenix, AZ 3 months ago

enjoy your Trump years you worked so hard to get him in office....BTW Jill Stein don't do shit except provide propaganda for Putin, but people who vote for her are the stupidest people on Earth.

[-] 0 points by ImNotMe (1488) 3 months ago

Are U getting ready for Oprah now, dummy? WTF is that about? But DNC'll take her over Bernie, right?

Can/do US' Left Outliers push/pull Dems to the Left? Remember "Why Liberals Have To Be Radicals"?

Have U any idea what Corp.Dems/DNC are actually up to? IF not, don't U think that U should find out?

e tenebris, lux?

[-] 1 points by flip (7101) 4 months ago

your truth not THE truth - you sound like a religious zealot - well i guess you are - no?

[-] 1 points by factsrfun (8733) from Phoenix, AZ 4 months ago

truth is climate change is manmade, the GOP work to make the rich richer and a vote for Jill Stein helps the GOP win those things are true they may be inconvenient truths for stupid ego whores but still ture...

and BTW I already know you won't even try to defend your position because you already know your position is full of shit.

[-] 0 points by flip (7101) 3 months ago

still waiting for the number of dead from your favorite administrations - speaking of not defending a position. thanks for reminding me

[-] 1 points by factsrfun (8733) from Phoenix, AZ 3 months ago

you obviously don't care enough to know the number, but compared to your favorites W Bush and Reagan and every other GOP POTUS I suppose it is not so many, remember you have killed billions with YOUR favorite W Bush, and your very favorite of all, Trump well he has barely gotten started.

[-] 1 points by flip (7101) 3 months ago

your ignorance is showing! just start with slick willy and 500,000 dead children - then go from there

[-] -1 points by factsrfun (8733) from Phoenix, AZ 3 months ago

compared to killing the entire planet which is what Nader did when he put his name on the ballot in FL, it still is a small number, as bad as the Clintons were they have never done the harm the GOP has done with the help and assist of the ego whore Greens

truth is I don't give a shit about the Clintons, you want to be a Clinton expert go ahead you want to tell me how glad you are that Trump is POTUS go ahead, I still hold that Hillary was a better choice, but that choice is past going forward we can either try to defeat the GOP or let them win.....

[-] 1 points by flip (7101) 3 months ago

no you do not want to talk about the crimes of the dems - that is understandable. yes they are preferable to the gop and especially trump but you have made a start here - good going.

both parties are criminal - one less so than the other so let talk about our options. if it is a clinton or an obama we are still in trouble so what must be done?

now you can go on and rant about trump and i will agree - bush looks almost sane now no? almost like hillary. oh well this is boring

[-] -1 points by factsrfun (8733) from Phoenix, AZ 3 months ago

Really in the end what can anyone do about anything? I show up here once in a while to remind people what a stupid thing 5 million did in 2000 voting for Nader and electing Bush, given the state of climate change none of this shit matters after 5 million flushed their ballots down the toilet in 2000, it was all pretty much over the Earth is the A Dead Man Walking now.

[-] 1 points by flip (7101) 3 months ago

i agree it is most likely a done deal. so why all the ranting about those who think the dems are not the way to go. nobody knows the best way forward - let's be clear on that. nobody. all you would need to do i think is to admit that the dems are complicit in the demise of the working class and the rise in inequality. to say nothing of the death and destruction around the world.

i personally think that pushing the democratic party to the left is the best way but who the fuck knows - not you not me.

[-] -1 points by factsrfun (8733) from Phoenix, AZ 3 months ago

because the GOP is NOT the way to go, the GOP is pure evil and anything esp voting for third party ego whores that allows them to win is unacceptable in almost every case the best chance to defeat the GOP is to vote FOR the dem ANYTHING less is stupid as shit, yes keep pushing liberal views stand up and be a proud liberal but don't confuse "not perfect" with "pure evil;"

[-] 0 points by flip (7101) 3 months ago

liberal?? liberal here at ows - I thought we were a radical group. Nixon was a liberal - are you

[-] 1 points by factsrfun (8733) from Phoenix, AZ 4 months ago

"Super PACs should be banned, private donations to politicians and campaigns should be banned, and a clean public financing system should be implemented to end the takeover of our government by corporations and billionaires. Americans deserve free and fair elections — free from the corruption of big money donors. The Supreme Court has effectively legalized bribery. It’s time for an Article 5 convention to take our Democracy back from the brink of Oligarchy."

[-] 1 points by agkaiser (2049) from Fredericksburg, TX 4 months ago

with a neo feudal/neo fascist wave sweeping the country you want a constitutional convention.

are you crazy or just plain stupid?

[-] 0 points by factsrfun (8733) from Phoenix, AZ 4 months ago

quote from the Justice democrats, and yes you are correct it would be stupid to do a Convention, I definitely do not trust who would be in the room.

no political group is perfect the only way to perfection is to make me King, and I mostly oppose that, but at least they understand that we can't be splitting our vote and electing the GOP

[-] 3 points by agkaiser (2049) from Fredericksburg, TX 4 months ago

George W [the II] said "a dictatorship is all right as long as I'm the dictator." So say we all.

In Arizona, where I lived from 1977 to 2013, or in Texas [to be near most of my grandchildren] a vote for a Green is, in most cases, a protest vote that will not change the outcome in the slightest. In a swing state or a close race anywhere that's another matter.

But I don't live there. I like the family, the weather and the terrain where I am and where I've lived most of my life to date. And I'll still vote for Greens to show my opposition to Rep. Lamar Smith, Senators Ted Cruz and Jon Cornyn in Texas, until the day a viable candidate opposes them.

My son led the fight to defeat Trent Frank in 2002 he didn't win, but at least he fought.

[-] -1 points by factsrfun (8733) from Phoenix, AZ 4 months ago

No one interested in opposing the GOP?
