Opponents of OWS now resort to metaphors of food to attack OWS. Sure made me smile.

seriously, do you get out much? Fat people seem to be a ten percent phantasmal phenomenon At least it is in the working class communities that I choose to associate with. Where do all these Fat Americans, at least the ones I keep hearing about, live? And why is it one person out of every ten people I relate with are Fat? Rampant Fatness seems to be endemic in a class of people I don't see everyday, especially of the obese nature.

I ate a delicious gourmet burger last night. Medium with sauteed onions and green peppers, shitaki mushrooms on a handcrafted bun. Man oh man was it good!

Someone here posted this eye-opening TED talk on diet a few weeks ago.

"May 11, 2012: NECA creates new subsidiary Food Sky Towers Inc (FST Inc) to end hunger in America in less than two years by constructing 5,000 Food Sky Towers on more than 4,000 American farms. A NECA Spokesperson said 5,000 towers will produce enough food for 1.5 billion people annually with 60 percent of the food being sold for profit by exporting it to 153 allied nations. The remaining 40 percent of all food produced will end hunger in America during the next two years employing 2.5 million Americans annually for the next 50 years.

June 22, 2012: NECA began building 10,000 Food Sky Towers in 127 of the 153 allied nations, NECA says in excess of 8,000 towers are being funded 100 percent by NECA in exchange for 50 percent lifetime profits. An additional 10,000 Food Sky Towers will produce enough food for three billion people, thus eliminating hunger around the world once all towers are operational."

sounds pretty healthy to me : ) signed Farewell, the farmer.

The world has seen a lot of "great" ideas come and go. Until it works somewhere other than in the mind - it is simply an idea. Plans are made, broken and abandoned every day. Having reams of ideas on paper, posting millions of http://www doesn't mean anything. After all, WALMART began long before there was an internet and will be there with or without it.

If vertical farms can actually work - go for it. Make it work somewhere other that in a demonstration project. I did demonstration projects when I was a member of FFA in high school.

I am sure that one of these towers must be open of touring today - where is it - I am pretty well open to going to see it for my self.

$110M to build, we have the resources, we have the technology, where's the will? What's a modern football stadium go for these days?

Most foods advertised as low fat tend to have lots and lots of other unhealthy things packed in...

Many have high carb content... so low fat becomes kinda... a mislabeling...

Go organic... grow your own veggies and cook from scratch... not as hard as one might think... provided you have access to the space and time... which is hard to come by... but not impossible...

Also, I think people earning that much (the 1%) can probably afford proper healthcare, have personal nutritionists and professional chefs at their disposal... not to mention cosmetic surgery... also... psst... I am pretty sure they can afford to buy organs off the black market when theirs start failing...

Isn't it totally ironic that the rich, well educated of today's society are advocating with great intellect, exactly what the poor and less educated where actually doing years ago.

I grew up on a rather "poor" family living on a midwest farm. Your ideas are really old-hat to me. We were even so advanced back then that we didn't grow "organic". We just didn't have access to all the pesticides, etc that you use today. Call it organic if you want - it was just livin not too many years ago.

While you are at it - you might want to compare the life expectancy of the people who lived "totally organic" as compared to humans of this day, most of who DO NOT.

obama recently said in a speech that he should be paying more taxes. NOTHING prevents him from doing so . the IRS would gladly take his check.

Politicians always talk in "should," "could" and "would" the only time I bother listening is when they say "will," "can" and "did"... haven't heard a peep in a long time...

P.S. clarification: a meaningful peep

this particular politician is running for re-election.

[-] 1 points by toukarin (488) 12 years ago

Mores the pity... why must Americans (actually people in general) always have to choose a lesser evil? Is there anyone truly good in politics? CAN there be anyone truly good in politics?

[-] 0 points by capella (199) 12 years ago

there can be , there should be, but anyone who bucks the system is torn down. there are some in elected office that are good, demint, rubio allen west, gohmert.
