the one reason why I believe the occupy movement has not made a significant impact yet is due to propaganda. many Americans do not know how to properly view the media and thus become useless supporters.
occupy has not been identified with any particular ideals because the idea spread through the mainstream media is exactly that. the movement is identified as an unorganized mob, a threat, which can easily be opposed. despite the disorganization, America is displeased, yet the media continues to portray the idea that only certain demographics of the country are affected, which can then be falsely portrayed and linked to other failed movements. you know, "get a job you hippy" type of shit.
whether you like it or not, you are continually experiencing propaganda from the media, and often lose sight of the fact that everything is experiencing a "whisper down the lane effect." despite however convoluted the original message becomes, whoever first portrayed the message guides the direction of illusion. they set the idea initial and the rest takes care of itself.
and that's how the propaganda falsifies our feeble attempts of speaking out.
identify the final outcomes of the effect and then set the idea in motion.
You need to keep visible as possible. The more people meet you for themselves, the more they don't have to rely on media for their impressions.
Yes, visibility and just keep on coming back. Stay strong. Make sure we talk to everyone we know as advocates for change.

I think your premise is correct: we are under constant attack from the corporate propaganda system.
The fact that you are under the impression that "the occupy movement has not made a significant impact yet" is further evidence of the power of the corporate media to misinform (even yourself.)

However, I do think we could devote more attention to the corporate media. IIRC the CNN headquarters is right near fox news headquarters. we should march on them and draw more attention to this problem.
