Forum Post: Fear and Loathing in Florida

Posted 11 years ago on July 27, 2012, 7:06 p.m. EST by shoozTroll (17632)
This content is user submitted and not an official statement

"TALLAHASSEE — In a wide-ranging deposition that spanned two days in late May, former Florida Republican Party chairman Jim Greer denounced some party officials as liars and "whack-a-do, right-wing crazies'' as he described turmoil in the months before his resignation.

Greer said some GOP leaders were meeting to discuss ways they could suppress black votes while others were constantly scheming against each other."

Are they eating their own, or truth telling?

In the cesspool of Florida politics, it's likely the truth, as it follows (R)epelican't voter surpression in other States.

You decide.

More Florida fear and loathing.

Isn't it amazing what teabagge(R) conse(R)vatives will waste tax payer money on?

The Florida purge continues despite court orders.

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/09/12/florida-plans-to-resume-controversial-voter-purge/

With a Governor like Scott, did you expect anything else?

[-] 2 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Is there something in the water down there?

It just keeps getting crazier, and crazier.

http://www.alternet.org/election-2012/two-florida-republicans-want-law-allowing-gun-owners-shoot-illegal-voters

Forget the RNC, the Statehouse would be a better place to be, considering what a nut case Scott is.

[-] 2 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

The sad part?

It's nothing new. It's the (R)epelican't plan.

It was also in heavy use in 2000

Good video.

The truth comes out for those interested enough in it. For the GOTP they can't run fast enough from it!

[-] 2 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Well it does seem that the GOP's golden parachute has a few holes in it............LOL

Along with their party platform.

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Their party platform ( the corpoRATist platform ) seems to be suicide. Problem is they want everyone to join in.

[-] 2 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

The problem is, it's not one just State they are pulling this shit in.

http://www.addictinginfo.org/2012/07/27/alabama-attorney-general-files-suspiciously-partisan-lawsuit/

Did you notice the lack of comment from all of our "friends" in Florida?

They've avoided it like the plague.

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

It is part of the corpoRATist agenda - Disenfranchise - PEOPLE.

How better to help steal an election ( among other things ) then to deny voting to a large segment of the population THAT NO WAY IN HELL would support their policies.

This is a National effort of theirs. Just like labor busting ( union busting ).

The shills will stay quiet on this subject as long as they figure they can as they do not want to validate it by attacking the truth for all to see and thereby cause publicity. Publicity which would be bad for them & good for the people.

" I am not a crook", comes to mind as the departure date.

When they completely quit caring about Americans took a bit longer, but here we are..

[-] 2 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

They were taken over by libe(R)tarians, pushing neoliberal economic policies under the guise of both parties............and now?

Here we are, many in denial of that defining fact.

Many more, completely ignorant of it.

That it's the libe(R)tarian co-option, that makes some of them appear the same. Along with the selfish libe(R)tarian greed that goes with it.

There was no famine, they were just starved by the king.

Just like the kings of industry like to do to us.

Well put, shooz. Although there was massive crop failure, starvation by the king is a dead-on assessment.

What's ironic, from my point of view, is if it wasn't for the Famine, I wouldn't be here. Not that the world would be worse off, mind you.

[-] 2 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

It was a failure of a single crop.

The rest of what was grown was "requisitioned" by the King through the landlords.

The royal courts ate quite well throughout the "famine".

[-] 0 points by gnomunny (6819) from St Louis, MO 11 years ago

I'll bet they did.

It was more than one crop, though. It went on for a number of years.

[-] 2 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Nopers.

It was a potato blight, that hit only that crop.

[-] 0 points by gnomunny (6819) from St Louis, MO 11 years ago

Nopers:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_potato_famine

Even your link says "1845-49, when the potato crop failed in successive years."

[-] 2 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

I know about the successive years, but it did hit only potatoes, not other crops, although to a degree other tubers "might" have been affected..

[-] 0 points by gnomunny (6819) from St Louis, MO 11 years ago

Oh, my bad. I thought you meant one year when you said one crop. I was trying to figure out how you missed that it was successive years. That's so unlike you. Ah, semantics, gotta love it.

[-] 2 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Whew........I thought you were siding with the King for a minute there........:)

[-] 1 points by gnomunny (6819) from St Louis, MO 11 years ago

Did I mention I'm of Irish descent? Those are fightin' words shooz!

Oh, wait. My mom is of British descent.

Fuck man, now you got me all confused! ;-)

I agree. There is no excuse to back any of the self interested bastards in either party.

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

It continues unabated.

Now you can just threaten to use the damn libruls as "target practice".

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Maybe, maybe not, but the (R)epelican'ts damn sure ain't gonna do it.

They need to go. Teabagge(R)s first.

Ever since that guy said "I am not a crook" they've been becoming bigger ones every single year.
