Every Monday — 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, David Petraeus will be at Macaulay Honors College on w. 67th Street just off Central Park. This killer has no place in a school, no place at CUNY and will know no peace. With the sanction of the administration and acquiescence of the faculty — moral and political clarity has been left up to students and socialists.

The protests were organized by an Ad Hoc Committee, Revolutionary Student Coordinating Committee and the Internationalist Group. Folks from Occupy, Kasama Project, Freedom Road Socialist Organization and several other groups came through.

From recent Guardian coverage:

Petraeus was set to earn $200,000 for teaching a three-hours-a-week course titled "Are We On the Threshold of the North American Decade?" This was reduced to $150,000 after uproar over his wage, before Petraeus and CUNY agreed it would be reduced to a nominal $1, in order "to remove money as a point of controversy".

A statement from the Ad Hoc Committee Against the Militarization of CUNY, which is organising the protests, said in a statement: "A broad range of CUNY students, faculty and staff members have been carrying out a campaign of 'protest and exposure' against the Board of Trustees' appointment of Petraeus, whose documented actions as Iraq/Afghanistan war commander and CIA chief include drone attack supon civilians, and the creation of torture centers and death squads."

150 people rallied. Next week it should be twice that.

(Make it happen. No impunity for this killer.) — #everymondaydavid

Just put the word out he's attempting to document the precise National Security threat posed by those PNAC repelican scum who circulate through NYC by appearing as the emcee for their latest initiative, the North American Decade.

CUNY should drop him like a hot rock. IF that happens then examine the Trustees. In fact, start watching them before hand, get your base line behavior set, and note specific changes that occur to that base line once the word goes out.

IF the North American Decade is the new PNAC plan as I expect it is, then this is gonna be hot.

If all that goes according to plan then I dunno. If you want suggestions on how to use the base line and their changes let me know.

haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa hahahaa

you do realize, this is gonna be a cluster fuk

What you have to understand is that the class itself is just the title, a name, a form of signage, a marker. It conveys within a certain group the title, the position, that the instructor in this instance may hold within an organization - one that cannot be said to exist simply because it does not exist -

not on paper.

So the class in this instance represents title and no more, and while it may be instructive to sit in, the sum and substance of the class itself may be no more than a distraction.

It is at the social functions where duplicity begins.

None of which actually matter over all. Just demonstrate the willingness and the initiative to disrupt all their little social functions anyway. It will give them acid indigestion, which over time they will associate with the name Petraeus, and if this goes on long enough,

the mere presence of the man or the mention of his name will produce this same effect. You will see it as they go reaching for their tums.

I hope you fukers are listening, because if you are serious this will work. I promise.

It's just your basic biology.

why convey such a thing so openly?

It should be obvious. The only unknown here is the resolve of the resistance, and the resources that can be brought to bear upon that resistance and so erode or degrade resolve.

Words here do matter - for example, by making this about the uniform the resistance can expect the establishment will find greater resources to bring to bear against them. If the intent is to exhaust the establishment then such a ploy may work just fine, but only if the primary issue becomes a distraction for assault which may take place from the rear.

In this instance, I take it that the issue is as it is stated - and with a demonstration of adequate resolve on the part of the resistance the establishment may then look at the shape of things in play, calculate the outcome, and so retreat.

Another approach is to presume the trustees and those they front for are operating with assurances that they are in some way meeting the needs of National Security, and that this has already been decided.

Kind of like Goldman Sux robbing Gaddafi. There is no proof that I know of indicating that this was decided before hand to be consistent with our national security interests, but it does seem highly likely.

IF we presume they already believe they are covered, we can begin with a campaign of rumors, designed to instill a specific atmosphere, one of general disapproval, scorn or disdain. Here the idea of Petraeus operating with ulterior motive becomes just one such rumor. With a backdrop of general social disapproval, combined with a constant drumbeat of protest and shouts of dirision, they cannot help but cave.

This demands a bit of research, some careful networking, and even gaining access to the airwaves by a variety of means should not be discounted.

And then at every public event, every social function, every restaurant outing, where two or more of them are gathered together, let them discover a general atmosphere of ostracism combined with raucous protest.
