I read today that conservative Islamist parties have won the elections recently held and will hold the majority in their parlement. OWS has tried to link themselves to the movement there. Are you happy with their results?

Sure. It's what they want. Are you some kind of bigot? Really, how long can they embrace extreme conservatism when they've already tasted the wonders of freedom? This is the information age. A million Mullahs can't change that.

Absolutely not!!! Conservatives winning any election has always turned out badly.

So what are you saying? Put up with shit because the shit that will follow may be even worse? Plus, just seeing Mubarak where he is now (just a few feet away from a noose) must be worth it to those people.

Nobody? C'mon now! Many of you were just hell bent on connecting OWS with the uprisings in Egypt. The protesters won. Now they will be governed by conservative Islamists ( so much for any women's rights) enacting strict islamic law.

Why should what a people in another land want concern me ?

[-] 2 points by Lardhead2 (67) 12 years ago

Early in the occupy movement they sent representatives to Egypt to show solidarity. One of the dumber things OWS has done.

[-] 1 points by cJessgo (729) from Port Jervis, PA 12 years ago

I think that before OWS started some of the people from the movement went to Egypt to learn how to organize. Now tell me why should I care what kind of goverment the Egyptian people want?

[-] 1 points by TrevorMnemonic (5827) 12 years ago

You should care because knowledge is power.

[-] 1 points by cJessgo (729) from Port Jervis, PA 12 years ago

I was refering to a specific question, which had to do with the people of egypt and what type of goverment was selected by them.

[-] 1 points by Lardhead2 (67) 12 years ago

That's not the reason they gave at the time.
