Forum Post: Don't Occupy the Subway - Occupy Phone Lines

Instead of occupying the subway and endangering the lives of commuters and getting even more people to hate Occupy, why not flood the phone lines of the institutions you want to block. Get your 10,000 protesters to call the same bank over and over again for a whole week. This can cause a lot of damage to the PR of an institution. If they can't offer telephone service, they're going to have problems. Hell, flood the lines of the politicians you hate the most.

You could also ask protesters to hit certain websites at a predetermined time. If a site gets a major amount of hits at the same time, the server might very well crash.

There are those folks who (like myself) support OWS; but shutting down the MTA will only serve to make these folks HATE you.

  1. Want to change the culture on Wall Street and in Washington DC? Great, I support you. How can I help?

  2. Want to make me late for work or WORSE late to get home to see my 3 month old baby girl? I will push you down and kick you in the balls.

You'll have to explain to me how flooding the phone lines is going to lead to any positive result for ows, because I'm not following the logic.

  1. thousands flood Gigantic National Bank phone lines;
  2. Gigantic National Bank disavows the profit motive, gives all funds to the homeless, and forgives all outstanding debts.

It's called jamming. It's all the rage these days. It's taking anarchic circles by storm. Come to the party sometime. You're invited. You all are. We are the 99%.

That is just as dumb as occupying the subway
