I plan to vote my CONSCIOUS

but that will require paying attention

[-] 2 points by Shubee (119) 11 years ago

Consciences need to be enlightened. The Democrat and Republican Parties are criminal organizations. Presidential candidates Jill Stein (Green Party) and Rocky Anderson (Justice Party) enthusiastically support the goals and aims of the occupy movement.

http://www.voterocky.org/

http://www.jillstein.org

Occupiers need to maximize their impact on all fronts. Please think this through. Voting for the best anti-establishment candidate is a tool for social justice and should be encouraged.

[-] 2 points by jbgramps (159) 11 years ago

Thanks, As always I will vote my conscience.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by revolution. Are you saying armed insurrection? Do you mean to vote out the corrupt politicians? Do you mean more broken windows? Just what is your idea of a revolution? Be careful what you wish for. The American public is the most heavily armed populace in the world.

[-] 1 points by Dionysus (-16) from Owings Mills, MD 11 years ago

No, no violence, no property destruction! Just a lot of people educated as to what has been going on in this country expressing their resistance to the corrupt status quo in a multitude of non-compliant ways, including demonstrations/protests in the streets.

No More Elections.. We Are All Elected.. Peoples Party Unite! Make Like Iceland, arrest the bankers, politicians, and corporate pirates, try them in Peoples Court, let everyone be the Judge, Jury, Seize their assets, hoarded offshore, distribute the wealth to the People..Cancel Public and Private Debt.. "don't listen to anyone" sounds like a GOP mantra.

[-] 2 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

Wow....Holy shit. Now declaring people should think for themselves gets a freakin label?!!

[-] 1 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 11 years ago

you should think about what people say and do it your self, anybody telling you to not listen to reason well those people have got something to hide, for some their only hope is that you not listen to all the facts, it's the only way they can control you, this poster seeks to control what people think, those of us who say listen to everyone and decide for yourself, the GOP and the third party supporter all depend on people "not listening"

[-] 2 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

Third Party supporters depend on people not listening? Thats interesting....

So those that support Gary Johnson of the Libertarian Party and Virgil Goode of the Constitutional Party should not listen?

Jill Stein and Rocky Anderson? Dependent on people not listening?

Sorry, but from my own personal experiences I have noticed that supporters of those four people have a MUCH better understanding of what is going on. Listening is not a problem.

[-] 1 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 11 years ago

I didn't write the post telling people not to listen to people. What I am saying is that those who tell you "don't listen to anybody" is someone trying to control you and fool you like the person who placed this post, and the GOP they do that a lot too.

[-] 1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

And you dont think the left is just as guilty as that? You dont think the left has just as much interest as the right as keeping everyone in a polar opposite box?

[-] 2 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 11 years ago

again I'm not the one telling people not to listen to reason, the poster could be left or right, I don't know I'm just saying they can't be trusted

[-] 0 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

Why, with all the bullshit in the media these days, could someone saying to go with their gut feeling possibly be a bad thing?

The media runs all the political conversations in this country. People thinking for themselves could be a good balancer. Yes?

[-] 2 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 11 years ago

sounds like what religious nuts do all the time, they don't listen to anyone either, not sure that's a good thing, Bush always knew his gut would take him to the right place, so he didn't have to "Listen to anyone" I like it better when we talk things over I think we come up with better answers that way.

[-] 1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

You are missing the point of the post, and you should know better than that by now.

If you see something like that on an Occupy related site, it means stop falling for the bullshit. Go scroll through all the FB pages for all the different cities and you find more of that than not.

[-] 1 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 11 years ago

I am talking about the first four words of the post and how those words have been used for years to control people.

[-] 1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

Used by the establishment, not occupiers. Totally different meaning.

Establishment uses it to box people in. Occupy uses indpendent thinking to break down paradigms.

[-] 1 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 11 years ago

"Don't listen to anyone" pretty much means the same thing everywhere, it means your positions are weak and have no merit.

[-] 1 points by NVPHIL (664) 11 years ago

Didn't you get the memo? If you don't kiss obama's ass then of course you're a republican.

[-] 1 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 11 years ago

just saying people that tell you not to listen to others have got something to hide, the GOP are not the only ones with something to hide I'm sure but they sure as hell count on people not listening to shit

[Removed]

[-] 3 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

Another one?!! You think that saying people should think for themselves means what?

[-] 1 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 11 years ago

The poster is against people thinking for them self, you can't think for yourself with only part of the picture, but then you would be listening to people.

[-] 1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

How is telling people to vote with their conscious and stop listening to people possibly considered a bad thing?

[-] 1 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 11 years ago

Is there something about the words "Don't listen to anyone" that you don't understand?

[-] 1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

No,I understand it perfectly. How do you think Occupy came about?

By a realization that the system is bought out, the media is bought out, and until people start waking up and thinking for themselves, then the entire future is bought out.

[-] 2 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 11 years ago

I'm pretty sure we started by listening to each other, not shutting our ears and our minds.

[-] 0 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

"We started"?

Occupy started by outrage in the youth by a corrupted system that is also dominating the media. A youth that is going to be left with nothing due to mismanagement by the entire country.

Obviously occupy is into listening, othewise you wouldnt see progressives and libertarians working together.

[-] 1 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 11 years ago

then you should be as angry and distrustful of the poster as i am

[-] 2 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

I am angry, and here is why...

http://www.voterocky.org/if_you_re_not_angry

What angers you with this poster? I have seen person after person speak of not turning this into a Vote Out the Republicans campaign at OccTampa. There are already plenty of groups doing that. Some get down right pissed!!! I respect it. If voting out Republicans is your main goal, every city has a Dem campaign office too. Ours is/was on Himes Avenue. Been there plenty, trust me.

[-] 1 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 11 years ago

I don't like people telling people "not to listen" surly you get this by now, of course wither or not we should work to kill the GOP, of course we should we have discussed this many times, you always fail to show any merit in your position that we should not, that is most likely why you would prefer people not to listen to reason.

[-] 1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

I like that, I support any efforts to destroy the GOP because of it's extreme right wing intolerance.

I believe they are destroying themselves, They are alienating large swaths of the American people. And Repub Sen Lyndsey Graham got it right when he said last week "we aren't creating enough angry white men" to grow the GOP.

Their days are numbered & they know it. That is why we see their desperation in their blatant lies on the campaign trail & the massive voter suppression effort they are perpetrating.

If we can beat them this time a real change can be forced through growing progressive protests.

[-] 0 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 11 years ago

that would be the most probable path to success, I believe

[-] 1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

We MUST change the 1% control of both parties. Money out of politics is the best 1st step.

http://corporationsarenotpeople.webuda.com

So we must continue protesting for this 1st priority. It will take years. In the meantime we must look at who is running and vote for the candidate who will most likely work for the 99% when they are elected.

[-] 1 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 11 years ago

we could kill the GOP now, if we were willing to do it, that would get us to where we need to be much quicker, some within it are ready to kill it now,

http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/whitehouse/analysis-romney-draws-few-gop-echoes-in-rush-to-criticize-obama-after-embassy-attacks/2012/09/13/91ec3016-fd73-11e1-98c6-ec0a0a93f8eb_story.html

[-] 1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

There is nothing within reason that is happening with the current power structure.

Reform vs Rebuild is an arguement that has been going on with Occupy since day one. I respect their desire to rebuild. I have been told plenty of times to keep the policial campaigning out of it....

There are plenty of people who campaign and work with Occupy. I know Obama campaigners that protest with OT, Greens, and Libertarians. Believe it or not, we have even met some Tea people at some rallies to get the money out.

But they respect the desire to keep this movement as its own thing.

[-] 1 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 11 years ago

how does any of that address the words, "Don't listen to anyone"?

[-] 0 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

You have NOT met tea party supporters at Occupy protests, unless they were there to attack us.

Stop lying!

[-] 0 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

Agreed. Hope springs eternal. You have the right idea.

I am in total solidarity.

Peace, & protest!

[-] 0 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

If intelligent people look at the 2 parties who control everything, and consider the issues that are important to them I think they will find that both parties have profound problems, but one party is better on the issues.

With a real progressive protest movement we can improve that one parties service to the 99%

Replace pro 1% conservatives with pro 99% progressives, And protest for real change

[-] 0 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 11 years ago

one of the two parties is nearly perfect, and it's not the one that's on the people's side, it works for the 1%, the other is trapped in a world controlled by money, we could maybe change that if we tried

[-] -1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

You give a great pro republican defense against the anti repub forces. As always.

[-] 2 points by Buttercup (1067) 11 years ago

He said 'fuck the system'. I don't know. But it sounds to me like he already knows his conscience. 'Fuck the system' doesn't leave much room for any consideration for progressive change. I think you have to respect that he has already examined his conscience. I don't think a person comes to 'fuck the system' lightly. It seems disrepectful to tell someone like this what to do. On a post that is dedicated to not listening to what others tell you to do.

[-] -1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

I believe this site is dedicated to improving the lives of the 99%. And I believe we do want to listen to each other. How else would we debate? How else would we learn? The post be damned!

I think also I have the right of free speech. And free conscience!

Finally he says "Fuck the system" but I believe he is a republican partisan.

[-] 2 points by Buttercup (1067) 11 years ago

Don't look down because there's no ground under your feet.

[-] 0 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

Ha!

I got ground just fine. You got a criticism of some comment i've made.?

Link the comment! I'll address. You can't! 'cause you got nothin'!

I only criticize a comment as it happens. That's what I did when I called your friend pro repub partisan when he came out against the "vote out repub" movement.

replace pro 1% conservative with pro 99% progressives, & protest for change that benefits the 99%.

LMFAO

[-] 2 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

"If intelligent people look at the 2 parties who control everything, and consider the issues that are important to them I think they will find that both parties have profound problems, but one party is better on the issues."

That is about as partisan as it gets.

Fuck the Dems and the Repubs. Fuck the system.

Now go jump through that ring of fire!!!

[-] -1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

More insults. I'm saying people shouldn't listen to anyone. Especially your anti dem, pro repub partisanship. Definitely don't listen to the people campaigning to have progressive OWS supporters throw their votes away.

Vote for the candidate who will be most likely to succumb to progressive pressure when they win.!

Your empty generic "fuck the repubs" don't fool anyone. You are only interested in attacks against dems, and always offer defense of repubs.

Today you want to end the vote out repubs effort. Transparent.

[-] 1 points by Buttercup (1067) 11 years ago

So you think he's lying when he says 'fuck the system'?

[-] 1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

Yeah I do!

[-] 1 points by Buttercup (1067) 11 years ago

It just looks funny to me. Like one of those Wile E Coyote cartoons. Where he runs off the edge of the cliff and keeps running in mid air. Until he looks down and realizes he has no ground under his feet. Then he falls.

It just struck me funny is all. This post is about not listening to other people. Yet you get on this post, of all posts! And tell a person who/what to vote for.

'Vote for the candidate who will be most likely to succumb to progressive pressure when they win.!'

[-] -1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

Well if you want progressive change I think that is good advise.

[-] 1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

Respect the people that actually plan things and dont turn this into a Vote Out the Republicans message.

Its much deeper and more than that. Why dont you respect that?

[Removed]

[-] 0 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

Nobody is turning this into a vote out republican message. I am challenging pro republicans like you. As always. I was with "people that actually plan" things last night @60 wall st.

Here I seek out & destroy the anti dem partisans, & in your case the pro repub partisans.

pro republican partisan boy!

[-] 1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

Go troll someone else with your idiotic takes.

Or practive your juggling.

[-] -1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

More childish, insults reflecting the weakness of your arguments. Are you so afraid of engaging my arguments.?

Why are you worried about a movement to vote out republicans?

You've spent much energy attacking dems, never attack repubs & now provide a defense of repubs from the vote out repub movement.

Just admit you are repub! So many people here have made that connection. So many here have got your number.

[-] 1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

The Mascot has spoken...

[-] -2 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

You resort immediately to degrading insults because you know I;m right and you have no substantial response.

You are here to protect the republicans. I have pointed that out.

I don't have to resort to middle school name calling because I have the facts, & the truth on my side.

[-] 2 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

So now commenting is whining, got it. Lord knows you do enough bitching.

"REpelicans" what ever the hell those are (just like the right and their Demonrats, Democraps nonsense), are definitely not down with people thinking for themselves. This entire system relies on people NOT doing that.

....This is fuckin pathetic....
