Democrats or Republicans - Is There Really Much Difference?

Why yes, Thanks for asking. As a matter of fact there is.

  • The DemoCRAPs kiss the 1%'s Left Ass cheek.

  • The RepubliCONs kiss the 1%'s Right Ass cheek.

  • There is also Bipartisan cooperation working on the 1%'s Middle.

We want PEACE-and we want it NOW.Wars in this World are as Stupid as the Clueless Occupants of an Overcrowded Lifeboat struggling over a Hand Grenade with a Pulled Pin.What idiot would prefer War so they can make Money selling Munitions? Why can't they be FORCED to find Something Else To Do?

[-] 1 points by corsali (47) 9 years ago

Those are all good questions that I don't have the answer for Harry. We have a perverted system of government that thrives on WAR, and from my stand-point, it renders us without morals.

We've passed the time where we as a people need to face that fact, and take the bull by the horns, change course and take charge of our destiny.

They are forced to the minute we decide to stop giving them this level of power.

Hell, congress doesnt even vote on war anymore, its just sop.

I'm trying to come up with the Solution.I think it's going to have to be a Group Effort-(sarc)-LOL-The reality is,considering Solutions like these,I feel myself to be out of my depth.Still,it seems simple enough.Stop the Bombs.Find another way.Stop sending weapons to War Zones.Stop providing money for Wars-etc.

From The 'Foreign Policy' Perspective ... in a word .. NO !!! Both parties (where does it stipulate that there shall be only one of two choices, btw ?) - are totally for and underpinned by - The Imperial War Machine of The Neoliberal, Neocon US Military-Industrial / 'Security' / Bankster - Complex !! But this demoCRAZY deMOCKERYcy sham is NOT for ever though - despite what may be believed and even hoped for by some ! Further to your though-provoking article - please also consider :

Domestically - the 'Neoliberal Austerity Agenda' dovetails with the above but - Resistance Is Fertile !!!

We hear nothing from you and yours on taking positive action or supporting positive action.

Why do you never forward anything about social injustice/crime/murder?

What is your excuse for being silent on such things?

On Wednesday, police in Missouri killed another young black man. Just two months since a police officer in Ferguson shot and killed Mike Brown, an off-duty St. Louis police officer fired between 16 and 18 shots at a teenager, Vonderrit Myers, Jr., killing him. Although police claim Myers shot at them, witnesses and relatives insist he was unarmed.

Mike Brown's killer is still free, and it's clear that discriminatory policing is still happening across the country. It's time for justice. This weekend, activists are converging on Ferguson to build momentum for a nationwide movement against police violence. In solidarity, progressive groups from across the country are coming together to demand the federal government step in to help bring lasting, fundamental change to policing in America.

The federal government has the power to make sweeping changes that can expose and stop discriminatory policing. They don't need to wait on Congress to act. Now is the time to urge President Obama and the Department of Justice to begin investigating and reforming unfair policing in America. By issuing executive orders and making changes to existing federal programs, the Obama Administration can ensure Ferguson is a turning point for justice.

Join Democracy for America and a progressive coalition to tell the White House and the Department of Justice: take definitive steps to set a higher standard for American police!

Below are some of the important reforms that the White House, Department of Justice, and other federal agencies can start immediately -- reforms that would finally address the discriminatory policing crisis:

  • A fully-resourced and rigorous investigation by the Department of Justice into discriminatory policing, excessive force, and death or injury by police in every state in the country.

  • A public national-level database of police shootings, excessive force, misconduct complaints, traffic and pedestrian stops, and arrests, broken down by race and other demographic data.

  • An end to federal grants and programs that incentivize the militarized and inhumane policing practices of the War on Drugs.

  • An executive order that creates a strong and enforceable prohibition on police brutality and discriminatory policing based on race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, age, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, immigration status, disability, and housing status.

These reforms will not just help address a long history of discriminatory policing in America. They will also help build better relationships between police and community members in neighborhoods across America. Those positive relationships are essential to protecting public safety and reducing crime -- and in providing lasting justice for everyone in America.

Join us in calling on President Obama, the Department of Justice, and other federal agencies to take immediate action to strengthen police accountability and end discriminatory policing.

Thank you for taking action and standing up for justice.

[ edit ] And it is so strange that you and yours - are never seen to forward or support actions to create/implement/establish Direct Democracy.

You know.

Where the People Vote and make the decisions that run our country and our states.

Yep strange. All one ever sees on such attempts ( made by others - not you ) to advance Direct Democracy are down votes. Down votes which are suspicious because they rarely ever are accompanied by a comment as to why the pro-direct democracy comment was down voted.

And if you are seen to comment on such ( pro-direct democracy posts ) it is generally negative comments from you and yours.

I can only imagine that it is you and yours which down vote such comments as . . . . https://occupywallst.org/forum/direct-democracy-with-representation-and-a-peoples/#comment-1049546 . . . . . . . . . . .

Highly Respected Conservative Judge Rips "Voter ID" Laws--and the GOP--in Blistering Opinion

by DartagnanFollow

Is this not a major difference coarse-ali ?

Can't call that a Dem partisan attack.

[-] 2 points by turbocharger (1756) 9 years ago

Its a difference, one wants an id and the other doesnt.

You should study how they both have rigged the elections beyond that, much deeper and more profound. The ID is just the tip of the iceberg.

[-] -2 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

Wow Dk this really seems like a huge difference between the Dems and GOP, this quote from the judge sums it up:

"There is only one motivation for imposing burdens on voting that are ostensibly designed to discourage voter-impersonation fraud," [Posner] writes, "and that is to discourage voting by persons likely to vote against the party responsible for imposing the burdens." More specifically, he observes, photo ID laws are "highly correlated with a state's having a Republican governor and Republican control of the legislature and appear to be aimed at limiting voting by minorities, particularly blacks."

an excellent example of a huge difference the Dems wants everyone to vote, the GOP just wants certain people to vote

Do you ( coarse-ali ) agree or disagree with the presented article?

If you want to add something - please - feel free to do so. Just try to make it in reference to your post and not a personal attack on me. Can ya do that?

[ edit ] -> Here I'll even help you out. The following is something I mailed out.

Do something to earn your stay in office.

Where is the democratic campaign to:

Overturn Citizens United

Establish OSTA ( one subject at a time legislation )

Establish the Robin Hood Tax on wall street.

Charge and try the Criminals on wall street.

Break up the too big to fail.

Raise the minimum wage to be a "minimum living wage" that is tied to inflation/cost of living - starting at a real figure of no less than 15.00 an hour.

End quantitative easing ( pouring money out onto the ground ).

Establish Quantitative Improvements ( pouring money into creating jobs to rebuild our infrastructure to be clean ) replacing coal fired power plants with clean alternative power creation.

End the insane "all of the above" energy stance.

Put a stop to outsourcing jobs overseas.

Put an end to the hoarding of trillions of dollars off-shore.

End fossil fuel subsidies.

Put an end to the fracking pollution of our ground water our surface water our soil and air.

Stop the leaking ( gushing ) of methane into our atmosphere by abandoned as well as active fossil fuel wells.

The above comment was preceded by:

Something you should consider. I wrote the following in reply to the DNC:

I would be excited to attend - IF - The democratic party was fighting for the American Public - BUT - unfortunately the Democrats in office are almost as bad as the republicans in office - while the Republicans in office are actively working against the people the economy the environment - the Democrats in office are rolling over for them - there are very few in office right now that are trying to get things done to support the People the Environment the World Change this fact - by actually having the Democrats currently in office - STAND UP RIGHT NOW - AND - actually get to work for the people - BEFORE THIS NEXT ELECTION - ENOUGH WITH LIP SERVICE AND NO ACTUAL WORK/ACTION.

[-] -1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 9 years ago

Why did we experience a government shutdown?

Wasn't it because - those in office who are supposed to be republicans ( in their representation of The People ) - wanted to quash the ACA?

You know - that imperfect act that needs a whole lot of work to improve it to where it actually becomes a single universal standard of care for every single citizen of these United (?) States?

Being as weak as it is ( the ACA ) - many people - "PEOPLE" - who didn't have or couldn't get Health Care Coverage before - NOW have it.

Why would those ( supposed - declared ) republicans want to shut down government to deny their constituents health care coverage? Which they have gone and done anyway in their red state majorities by refusing the expanded care for their constituents by having the state opt out - and by doing so rejected billions of government dollars that would go towards the health care and the creation of new health care worker jobs.

THIS to Me would seem to be a MAJOR difference between Dems and Reps.

[-] 0 points by corsali (47) 9 years ago

[-] -1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 9 years ago

Your only effort on this forum ( besides making attacks on me ) - seems to be in trying to promote "inaction" - you bring nothing for people to actually take part in - no - instead you do your best to shoot down any possible direct actions that people can participate in.

Big difference if you are poor.

BTW - the article you chose for making your post on " Democrats or Republicans - Is There Really Much Difference? "

Is it another bash OH-Bummer piece?

Because yes there are valid reasons to bash OH-Bummer - the drone war killing of civilians for one.

But the new facility in Kansas? Really?

I mean "YOU" don't even pretend that it ( your use ) is all about bashing OH-Bummer. But you do hint ( as coming out and actually state something is against your principles ( sorry ) tactics ( that's better )) that it is the fault of the Democratic party.

OH-Bummer's official party designation "is" Democrat.

But if the new plant in Kansas was a Democratic plumb - why would it be in a red state?

Aren't there plenty of blue states that would be happy to have the employment plumb? Even a MIC employment plumb?

Anyway not really a very good piece for you to tie into your post's heading question - is it.

seems accurate

I prefer party issues not be discussed and be put back on top of the forum

Cool - so - it would probably help if you didn't make comments on them - Hey?

Just sayin.

The fewer the comments the quicker the post you do not care for disappears.

As not everyone will feel the same as you about a particular post - don't you think that keeping yourself from making a comment on a post that you do not care for would be in your best interest?
