Democratic control of economies can not really occur without talking on the Banks and removing their death grip on all our throats. Thanks for the excellent, educative and inspiring short interview with Prof. Chomsky and in support, please see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNItYoJhgmk A full interview with Prof. Yanis Veroufakis, Greek Finance Minister and a famous truth speaking, ''erratic Marxist''! + http://occupywallst.org/forum/bs-or-not-meet-the-secretive-group-that-runs-the-w/#comment-1058281

"Business is a tyranny....It's got control from the top. If you're in the middle you take orders from above and you hand them down below. At the very bottom you're allowed to rent yourself to it. It's not obvious why things have to work like that. It could be democratically controlled by the participants, no owners, no managers, just those who participate."

"It would dismantle capitalism." Chomsky.

Nice to see you posting, sff. Hope all is well.

How can existing businesses evolve into the participatory economic units without causing any discontinuous disruptions?

Can the workers stipulate the repossession of the ownership of the means of production through buybacks with their labor? Perhaps existing businesses should first be organized into smaller functional economic units (100 particpants or fewer) and once they have worked out the kinks of the economic linkages to other units and repossession has been completed, they can be spun off into financially independent and loosely economically coupled units. Ownership goes with the economic units and their workers. Capitalism may well be dismantled piecemeal.

Consider: ''Critics of Capitalism Must Include Its Definition'' by Prof. Richard D. Wolff - http://www.truth-out.org/news/item/30678-critics-of-capitalism-must-include-its-definition - an informative and interesting read, heavily referencing what Wolff terms ''WSDE'' - 'Workers Self-Directed Enterprises'.
