I'm going to go ahead and run it under another headline, no problem with you posting it at all, this was the crux of the whole health care thing to me, why the hell people couldn't see it, I think it's that they want a dependent workforce even more than they want to save money. I said it here before this way:

This is also about maintaining a dependent workforce.

Other places I use the word “slave” I use it because I mean to, it best describes what the GOP and the 1% want to achieve, though I admit I also like the word “peasant”, which is really closer to the truth, after all “owners” had to provide something to the slaves, the peasants work your land, you take what you want and leave them what you like.

If people can get healthcare, they might have the freedom to stand up in their workplace, or even quit.

They want you to believe healthcare costs a lot of money, they pay more to keep you dependent, it’s worth it to them, these guys didn’t get rich being foolish with money.

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Agree ( with your re-posting - also - as different presentations can attract different peoples attention ). Yes - it is so much easier to control a population if that population is poor - then all one needs to do is hold out various carrots.

Jon Stewart is always on point.

Good post

Thanks go to frf for the vid link.

BTW - I just HAD to - TWEET IT.

[-] 1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

Yes I saw your exchange with Frf. Kudos all around!

[-] 3 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

I expect we will see more corpoRAT BullShit as we move along.

GOOD - they may just add the needed fuel to the fire to get the people involved in making positive change.

[-] 1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

Workers will get pissed off and revolt.

Just like voters did when the repubs attempted to suppress the dem vote.

They came in droves and endured hours in line and defeated the dark side.

;)

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Yep - wanna get someone involved? Piss EM OFF - oopseys for the corpoRATs -Hey? As this news travels - I wonder how much damage ol Papa caused his franchise chain?

[-] 1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

There must be a petition to boycott them.

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Wall-mart workers ( without a union ) are beginning to strike - other workers are doing the same - all who are aware of what is going on - and who care - will boycott as it is the right thing to do. But you are right word should go out to call for such actions. Another reason that I tweet these posts. Some may read consider and then get involved - if only to tell others what they read and/or saw.

[-] 1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

i think I recall a work outage for black friday as well at Walmart.

That would be huge.

And now, Sears, Target, Toys r us all are planning to open thanksgiving night. Just disgusting.

[-] 3 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

And their workers are signing petitions to get Thanksgiving back as a family day - for all workers - and they also may strike if they are not heard - listened to.

[-] 1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

Excellent!

Solidarity with them.

My eyes are wide open to 16 trillion debt. 48 million on food stamps. print print print. This will end real bad, . HOWS THAT HOPE AND CHANGE working for you..

[-] 5 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

You forget to mention the trillions of dollars HOARDED/HIDDEN off shore. That did not happen overnight either.

[-] 2 points by richardkentgates (3269) 11 years ago

it isn't an either or. The very concept that one matters more than the other proves the effectiveness of the party preachers. Yes, we are in debt by over 17 trillion dollars, and those who caused it including those who pushed for war are hiding the money over seas and avoiding responsibility for the damage they caused. It isn't either or, it's both. Both things are very very true.

[-] 3 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

milkbone has a tendency not to see the whole picture - and just attacks one individual - rather then the whole cause of the problems - it is not just one individual in government that caused the mess that we are in - it took many in government working for many not in government - to get us to this place in time. As well as the non-involvement of the people.

[-] 1 points by richardkentgates (3269) 11 years ago

You'll get no argument from me. Sound about right.

[-] 2 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

If you are not one of those "party preachers", why do keep hyping the "fiscal cliff" for them?

http://www.alternet.org/economy/cliff-notes-over-hyped-fiscal-cliff-crisis

Did you fail to notice how quickly that term became a meme within a day or so of the election?

Somebody, somewhere, paid to make that so.

[-] 3 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Yep - they introduced it one night on the news with a clip of the price is right game with the yodeler who falls off of the cliff - the next night I saw the game copied on the news only instead of the yodeler they had silhouette's of people holding bags of money going over the cliff.

But if it gets people pissed off and involved in protesting the Roadblocks in government that are preventing positive actions from being taken to support recovery. Then I for 1 am all for it. Get the people involved. The corpoRATs got people pissed off and involved in this last election - only not how they hoped.

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

I think it would be interesting to know what organization/s paid to have the term go pseudo-viral in the MSM.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Absolutely. That would be so helpful in determining aim and follow-up actions to be expected. Right now it would seem to be likely that the powers that be behind the currently RINO politicians in office are trying to malign the current administration again. To me it looks like they are gonna shoot themselves in the foot AGAIN. Unfortunately though - when the assholes shoot themselves in the foot - they also end up fucking over the economy and the people at the same time. This cycle must be broken - get the assholes out of office ASAP.

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Moreover, what is it designed to distract us from?

[-] 3 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Yes - it is an attempt at directing attention - don't worry folks about the wars overseas and the innocent lives that are being taken and/or otherwise destroyed - don't look at the ongoing destruction of the environment and the continuing poisoning of the planet - don't think about the homeless and poor people in the country.

But I think that they are too stupid to see that they are having an opposite effect on many people and are drawing attention to the ills around us - as more and more people get educated as to the issues we are all facing today - and what is coming tomorrow - if positive changes are not made NOW.

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Perhaps the need to apply the lessons of Denmark to most of our East coast?

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Yep - we need to stop funding wars - stop participating in wars - stop causing wars - and put some attention in upgrading our country to take benefit from the advancements of technology. This is also what we should be sending out in aid ( instead of throwing away billions of dollars ) technological aid that would end reasons for strife - like lack of fresh water or needing fossil fuel for power generation and transportation.

There Is So MUCH That Can Be Done To Make A Better World For All - Starting - RIGHT NOW.

I'm being attacked, so I guess I'll go do something else for a while.

In the future, we will need to embark on some major engineering projects, in order to survive as a nation.

All the more reason to end our foreign occupations. ↥twinkle ↧stinkle permalink

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

What an absolute gigantic mess - the sane thing would be to relocate populations from low ground as we will not be able to enclose everything - not in a short period of time anyway. Do you think that sometime down the line ( after we have long since passed on ) - that civilization will have to build locks and dams on every river outlet to the sea to address sea water fouling fresh water? I mean as fossil fuel seems bound and determined to frack-up the water table on land.

[-] -1 points by richardkentgates (3269) 11 years ago

lol, fiscal cliff? Please show me where I talk about the fiscal cliff. Pay attention and you may learn something. I could give two shits about the fiscal cliff. Stop at the edge or ride straight off the thing, I care not. It's a drop in the bucket compared to the overarching issue, which is the gap between inflation and wages that continues to grow despite minimum wage increases or any other pitiful half measure offered by the sellouts in Washington. The trend and lack of any real solution or even attempted solution shows they don't really give a shit about the people that make this country move every fucking day. It's economic oppression in every sense of the word.

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

You may not have used those exact words, richard, but sure as hell you are constantly talking about such economic "cliffs".

Plus NEVER making the WallStreet connection.

You defended them, the last time I tried to do so.

WallStreet has ALWAYS been the leader in REAL inflation.

The "cliff" is still a "cliff", no matter how you define it and you're using the terms in the same way, for the same purpose.

To create fear..

[-] -1 points by richardkentgates (3269) 11 years ago

Please show me where I have talked about the fiscal cliff. Who are you impressing? Do you think you'll convince me of something I know better of? Get a grip.

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

http://occupywallst.org/forum/is-hidden-inflation-choking-the-recovery/

My grip, is rather strong.

Where do make the WallStreet connection?

[-] 1 points by richardkentgates (3269) 11 years ago

WOW you refute my arguments about inflation, call it economic fear mongering but my argument is the same one being used to justify fixing the wage system by every liberal outlet on the web and then some. You are indeed placing party before people. If it were a republican in office you would be supporting this argument with gusto but because party is everything to you, people can eat shit. Thats what I'm hearing from you and yes, that deserves the title of thug. Wages are not even stagnate anymore they are in decline, while inflation still climbs faster than the recovery. Blind and arrogant, union thug. With any luck the next collapse will reach your family as it did mine, then you will see with no blinders.

[-] 2 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Still can't make the Wallstreet connection to inflation, but you can call me a "union thug"?

I must wonder what it is that makes you so confused.

My family was effected/affected by the Reagan collapse.

That one, in reality, lasted upwards of 10 years for some folks.

WallStreet is still feeding on the creation of inflation, today, as they did then.

[-] 0 points by richardkentgates (3269) 11 years ago

Oh my, but you're angry today. Passing around conspiracy theories too. There are so many attempts at insult in your comment, I won't even attempt to deal with it. That you are insulting, is all I need to know. Join a union. Get a life. PS. There is no "duopoly", it's an illusion, just like "free markets" are.

Yes, I'm angry. Nothing abnormal about that. Conspiracy? Please.

Read the Fed minutes, or their press release, party lapdog. You can't defame reality but you can sure as hell make the Dems look like jackasses for trying.

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

That made no sense in context.

it was not a response to the statement.

[-] 0 points by richardkentgates (3269) 11 years ago

Still can't make the Wallstreet connection to inflation, but you can call me a "union thug"?

wtf are you talking about. you keep bringing up Wall Street. Yes dumb ass, I have at least 5 threads addressing the handouts to WallSt which it continues to get from the Fed, at the rate of 40 billion per month now that we are in QE3. What is so hard to understand. I have been laying this out for 6 goddamn months now. How have you not gotten it yet? And the eye of your bromance Obama is allowing it to continue. Get it? Do I appear to be pulling for draft dodging spoiled brat Romney? No, you just don't want anyone trashing your party because that is so much more important than The People. Fuck your duopoly and all the games it comes with.

[-] 2 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Thug?

Union thug?

Are you channeling Limbaugh now?

No wonder you always fail to make the WallStreet connection.

Your use of economic FEAR, no matter what the exact term, is promoting the same "party preaching" you are accusing others of.

That was my original point.

Nice to know that you are also anti-union.

I didn't think that was the case with you, but now I know better.

Some people on here think it is all the Rep fault and that is not true. I am an independent and both parties are at fault. The Gov is screwing all of us

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

The most blatant action/inaction of the last 4 years has been by a passal of RINO's in office ( RINO's as they do not represent republican ideals ) this is why many are leaving the republican party and are registering as independent. That is why you hear bad talk about the republican party - because currently the powers that be in the republican party are working for special interests of the corpoRATions and the wealthy - and not for the people.

[-] 1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

Conservative policy is at the root of all our problems. Clinton and dems support notwithstanding. They were wrong.

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

I believe I've stated many times that this is caused by neolibe(R)tarians.

Those who pay to make such legislation a reality.

What that has to do with your racist BS, I have no idea.

[-] -3 points by DogBone (-201) 11 years ago

slick willie is a racist term now???

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Do you always forget what you have said previously?

That's the true sign of a loon dog.

You didn't respond when I pointed it out.

The term you are currently asking about is derogatory and sexist.

In certain places it could be construed as racist, yes.

So your usage, being inflammatory, could be interpreted as racist.

Calling someone a "slippery, wet cock" isn't exactly complimentary.

The term was applied to him, before anyone heard of Monica, so don't go there.

Yes the funding needed to run campaigns for all contenders - is miniscule to the federal budget - and no-doubt the same for state campaigns. Hell supply the funds from some cancellation of fossil fuel subsidies or some other wealthy welfare/entitlements.
