The vote to prevent closing gitmo!

Pressure all the pols who voted to prevent the closing of gitmo (incl the 8 dems)

No repubs voted against it. NONE! Repubs are the problem!

I thought Obama was going to close Gitmo.

You should send him a reminder.

I doubt he would ( or his puppeteers) would listen.

Never know until you try - with the new people coming into office next year the whole thing might get the needed traction.

I think you are going to need a country that will accept some of these people. That has been a primary issue.

I think the main problem is to get support in government. Then tell their home countrys that they will be returned to them if found innocent - refusal not an option - if guilty? lock em up here or send em back to face prison at home.

Congress has refused to send them to the Thompson prison. I don't remember what the hell happened with that. There are 166 left. I think some 40 are there for 9/11 and some 30 are there for the USS Cole. The rest they wanna hold indefinitely.

They either have evidence or they don't. Either prosecute or release. Even if Gitmo closes this is not resolved. BUT it does make it easier to forget about them.

I know that there was just a bunch of crap trying to get rid of the Uyghurs. China was ticked off and threatened to come unglued if any other countries accepted them.

Nasty business all the way around.

He lacks the power. He's merely the front man for the Pentagon's democracy masquerade. They run fake democracies around the world, why not here?

Let him prove that wrong.

Repubs again added def budget language to make it difficult for Pres Obama to close Gitmo.

Pressure all pols anyway.
